so good to hear!!! my only concern is the loans🥲i really wonder if we can count on them being available in time
Yeah, She said that they have submitted all of the things to get it approved they are just waiting to hear back from the Department of Education and they would alert us as soon as they have heard. I believe that she was expecting spring time to have a decision.

I was super excited when I opened my email but it wasn't quite the II I had hoped for. I received an invitation to join current students for a Zoom panel.

yep just got one today. for reference: secondary submission: 11/19. II: 11/26. and agreed with above member, they only recently started II
Will you also be going to the Q&A with current students in addition to the Deans overview?

Was your email for the Dean’s Overview + Student Q&A? Because if so you’ll get an interview invite after attending

So I got the Dean's Overview + Student Q & A and another email for just the Student Q & A. Is it beneficial to go to both or just the one from the Dean's Overview?

Sadly, there was no mention of the Dean... Just "You're invited to join our RVU-MCOM current students..."

I would go to both if you can! Dean’s Overview is required for interview but the Student Q&A can give you a lot of insight on the student perspective of things which is very valuable

Yeah I can write down some notes from the Q&A. You'll just have to remind me as I might forget!

Withrew my A from MCOM today. This was a difficult decision because of how warm and lovely the school staff and students were on my interview day. But, I need to stay closer to family. Hope this translates to an A or an II for someone. Gl all

Do you mind telling when you did the interview? And when you received acceptance?

Hi all, just curious if anyone knows if we can send letters of interest post-interview?

Those of you who have been invited to just the RVU-MCOM Current Student Panel Q&A, did you receive an invite to the deans overview after? or are we thinking the current student Q&A is just sent to applicants who are not going to receive a II lol?

i got the current student Q&A after my II so im sure it doesn't have to do with that

Hi! After my interview yesterday I got an email saying admissions would meet on a specific day to discuss decisions. Was this the case for other people? If so, were the dates they told you accurate? Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm a Canadian applicant, I applied to RVU COM but I was wondering if it would be too late to also apply to Montana too? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😳

definitely not too late, i applied to Montana over a week after i applied to RVU COM

question for any current students:how much emphasis is there on research at rvu-mcom? also, what is your experience with tracks? how hard is it to get into a specific one?

Research is definitely encouraged. Lots of faculty have projects that students can join or you can start your own. Not hard to get into a track! There’s currently three tracks available:

1. Military Med
2. REAL (Research/Academic Medicine)
3. GRUWT (Global, Rural, Underserved, Wilderness, Tribal)

also, any thoughts on if match stats will look similar to other rvu campuses or not necessarily?
Hard to know right now but I would assume so eventually based on MCOM having the RVU name. They don’t push us to go into primary care here but they will definitely be realistic with you if you don’t have the grades for something competitive which is appreciated.

Hey Celloboss,

I have a question regarding the classes. Are the classes online or in person? Additionally, is it easy to make friends at the campus or is it a competitive atmosphere. I am not from the US.

We have video lectures we watch in the morning at our own pace and then in the afternoons (1pm) we will come in for group learning sessions (case based learning). Those sessions are usually 2 hours long!

I don’t personally find the atmosphere to be competitive and at least in my class everyone is willing to share study materials like Anki decks or sketchy PDFs etc etc

How about making friends aspect? Is it easy going with that?

That’ll definitely be more person dependent but I feel like everyone in the class is friendly. There’s a lot of opportunities to meet people the first two weeks of school during foundations
Will you be at the Q&A tomorrow?
