Wonder why we have to pay all these guys while we already paid TMDAS once .. This is just crazy
Better than AMCAS which charges you for each school you add on the primary app
Texas saves you $$ up front with any or all schools included for one fee

There are additional secondary fees at most amcas schools on top of what amcas charges per school.

Because there are many more qualified applicants than available seats, applicants who successfully demonstrate a history of work in primary care fields and an inclination to pursue careers in primary care will be prioritized for interviews with our Admissions Committee.
This is what my application complete email (completed early Aug) said. What exactly do they consider "work in primary care fields?" Are they looking for a specific role?

For example I worked in a med surg unit for 1k+ hours and shadowed an internal medicine doc. Those two things are primary care related.

I vaguely remember that it said shadowing counts as primary care experience, not sure though. Working at a hospital for sure counts.

anyone know if there have been anymore II invites lately? and if / when UHCOM sends out waves?

Hey guys so I submitted my application like you all told me to after requesting a fee waiver via email. It says my application is complete even though i have not heard back regarding the fee waiver. Ive continued to call and leave voice mails and my two emails still have no response. Should i let this go or should i be scared that they might message me 2 weeks from now that they went back and marked my application incomplete because of the fee (although I didnt see anywhere to pay). Does this mean they saw my email and waived it? Im asking yall because clearly they aren't going to respond even though Ive followed all of their rules. This the only school that hasn't responded to anything I have ever sent.

Don't overdo the voicemails & emails, if the portal says you are complete you have done what you need to.

I’d just let it be man, I had to bite the bullet too

For those who have interviewed, do they send another email with more information on the MMI format (like time to think and answer the question) and how to join the meeting? Mine is in a couple of days and i’m a little worried. Thank you!

The email they sent says another email will be sent a day before your interview with a link and additional information about the interview day.

I have mine tomorrow and still haven’t received anything, not even a link to the interview day.

I did email and leave a voicemail but no reply.

Same. Maybe we just log into the AMP portal tomorrow?

Congrats!! +1 II complete early august LM 68
Good luck to us!
this may sound super neurotic but if i was complete before this (7/31) and havent heard from them does that mean I've been passed over? since they have rolling admissions

That’s a viable option but how do you even know when to log into the portal. Like we have no idea how the day is going to be structured.
Idk ig I’ll wait till midnight for an email, if not then I guess I’ll log on at 8 AM and wait for something to pop up I guess.

This is very poorly planned by UH.

Okay, I guess that’s not a bad idea.

@stressed24/7 @Buffalo Hunter

I can see the links and timings for the actual MMI portion of the interview under the Web Interview tab that just popped up on the portal. But still don't see a link to a general informational lobby session that is conventionally before the actual interview.

They just sent the link! I will have to check my portal for the timing of the MMI.

Can I DM someone who has already done their interview to learn about your experience and the format? I am not sure if there is any standard questions station for the MMI where you can "sell yourself" and if the MMI scenarios are more medically based versus more generalized (similar to CASPER). Good luck to those who are doing their interview today!

If someone feels comfortable sharing some tips on the thread, I'd also appreciate them!!!

Tips: read your secondary essays, own experiences that aligns with the school’s missions. Be prepared to answer some ethical questions. No station to sell yourself like UTMB. The stations are 6 instead of 7 with 2 rest stations. It’s chill experience. Had to reschedule one interview station but they are accommodating and tells you that upfront.

Are they open or closed file?

Are they open or closed file?
MMI style interviews are focused on your response to specific questions, and the person asking each question won’t be looking at your file.
Know your own file and review what you wrote on this school’s secondary before your interview day.
If one of the questions relates to something you have experienced, you can of course include that

Thanks for sharing! To clarify, the email said there will be a welcome lobby 30 minutes prior to the MMI. Including that, how long did the interview take? And is there anything else afterward (student panel, curriculum presentation, etc)? I'm trying to figure out if I can go back to work afterward. Thank you!

The introduction is less than 20 minutes so you will 10 minutes to get ready for the MMI. Once you done with the MMI, you are done for the day. Student panel and other presentations will be scheduled later as soon as they interview enough applicants.

Do you mind sharing some of your stats? I believe we applied around the same time, but I have not received an II quite yet. I am becoming neurotic lol
UH is issuing selective secondaries based on your fit which translates to type of healthcare activities on the app on top of probably some baseline stats. So comparing dates and stats is not giving you the full picture.

I think he was initially posting that he received a secondary and finished it on 8/25. I dont think he was saying he got an II. Correct me if I am wrong though.

Hi, you are correct. I submitted the secondary on 08/25, no II as of yet.

Received an email from UH for online seminars. But it seems the link HOW: Click to Connect With Us! does not work for me. Does anyone have the same problem?

Is there anyone still waiting on a secondary from this school?
If you submitted your primary more than a month ago it’s fine to email them & ask if you can complete a secondary
However if your primary app essays and activities didn’t match their mission, you may have been screened out

For those who have interviewed, has UH showed up in your TMDSAS ranking page yet?

I can't find anything about whether U of H accepts update letters. Should I send an email with the updates or email to ask if they accept them? @wysdoc
