Any news from Vandy MSTP? It seems from cycletrack that MSTP admissions came starting a day after the MD ones, but not sure if that would be the case this year too.

What did they say when they called you guys btw? For me it was basically like "you're accepted! Congratulations!", then "we'll be sending out emails in the new year" etc and then that was kind of it unless I accidentally hung up on her when she was about to say something else... really I hope I didn't.

Yep, they said some nice things from my app but that was basically it lol. Also mentioned aid right at the end of the call, but if you're worried you may have missed that.... maybe give a call or text back!

Any MSTP As?
I haven't heard anything yet. Cycle track shows one (but someone could have accidentally put it for MD PhD when they meant to put MD). In the last two years it seems MD PhD acceptances come a day after or more. Last year according to cycle track, they sent acceptances Saturday to Tuesday following the Friday of MD admissions. Not sure how this will carry forward for this cycle tho, but maybe the next few days will bring good news for us.

Are calls still coming out? Or should i loose hope 🙁
I saw last year people reported acceptances in the days following the first batch, so I think there’s still hope! Not sure if holidays next week would delay it but there’s probs more batches coming out soon hopefully 🤞

ditto :soexcited::spam:

Did anyone not get the emails or updated portals today 🙁
No, I didn’t get those yet. I read from other years that it’s usually the week after calls but this time it might be after new years because of holiday season. When she called she didn’t say much abt my app(it was like a 2min call) so I will still do my best not to be neurotic until I see that email/portal update haha.

Is it a stretch to call them first and ask about my application status… or do I just patiently wait for the email after new years to find out. i’m on vacation so my number doesn’t work until later in January 🙁

It doesn't hurt to give them a call, though they probably won't say much beyond that they're still reviewing. If you haven't heard back, it only means you're still in the game.

Do we think there will be any MSTP acceptances today? Ly they sent results over the weekend, but there seems to have been two MD PhD acceptances already (by cycle track) and I know they are expected to have a smaller than usual December wave.

Last year As were sent out throughout the weekend, so it’s likely we might hear back today or tomorrow

There's a Physician Scientists forum where more people are sharing MD/PhD news.
The interview committees are usually separate from the regular MD

For those who completed their interviews already (congrats!), what can we expect for our Kira Talent stuff? I am fine with the 1:1, but I am super nervous about how to even prep for the Kira part. How did you guys prep for it, and what kind of questions were being asked?

They said it's not a make or break aspect of the application, so don't stress too much about it. It's behavioral. Low stakes. I hope 🥲

Don’t worry too much about it. It takes around 15 minutes to complete and you really can’t prepare for them, they just ask you normal interview questions not too tricky. I felt like I messed mine up but i got the A so best you can do is relax and have confidence in your answers

Same, I did criminally bad on mine and was okay - not to say you shouldn't take it seriously, but I'm sure it's a "if you do good, it will reflect good on you; if you did terrible, they won't hold it against you" sort of thing. Best of luck!
