anyone heard from tufts?

We got an e-mail maybe on Friday saying that the commitee is sitting down to make their decisions and that they will send another e-mail telling you when the website has been updated. I assume that falls within what they said at the interviews....about letters coming out the first or second week of march.

Letters, but someone already posted that they made the decisions yesterday, so we're just waiting for them to finish that up and post the decisions online (assuming that information is correct)

The Tufts letters are in the mail, I got mine yesterday (Acceptance)!😀

They arent online. At least not for me. Can anyone view their decision online?
 
From what i hear from last year the decisions didn't go online until most people had already gotten their letters. So they will probably won't post it up online until Sat, maybe even Monday. Good luck everyone!
 
I just got an email from the financial aid office at Tufts. (what a tease, right?!) I was wondering if anyone else got this email. I hope the "Tufts student ID" that they gave us in the email is a sign of impending good news??
 
Did you guys get an email to remind you about your financial aid application and view your fin.aid status online? I'm trying to figure out if they sent this out to all applicants regardless of their admissions status. I hope we all hear back soon.
 
I got the fin aid email too. I think they just send it to everyone since the deadline for fin aid is March 9th and maybe we won't have the letters by then in case you are on the waiting list or something.

The more I think about it, the more likely it seems that they sent it out to everyone. Sigh, it's just me and my wishful thinking 🙂 Good luck you guys!

Congratulations! Did it say anything about being accepted early or anything like that? I know from the forums last year that some people got them around now and it said they we accepted early and others didn't get them until March 7th.
 
I was told that the Financial Aid email from today went out to everyone who had an interview at Tufts.
 
as all of this goes on, i imagine someone from tufts' staff sitting at their computer watching all this go on and laughing and quoting us to everyone in the office...

i got the fin aid email, no decision online or via mail.

Haha, and just mailing a few letters at a time, and then updating a few status pages, just to see how SDN reacts.
 
Got my acceptance in the mail today! I am out-of-state (PA). The letter was dated 2/27.

Did yours say it was an "early admissions decision because the Committe voted to admit immediately" like someone posted last year? I'm just trying to gauge where I stand since I live in Mass and got nothing today 🙁
 
Yes, it did say that the decision was an early one. Hope this helps.

what does 'early acceptance' mean? did the interviewers like you so much they didn't have to even discuss your application on tuesday? cause that's pretty cool!
 
It says in my letter:

"Because of your superb achievements and outstanding promise, this admission decision is an early one; you are among a very small group of applicants the Committee voted to admit immediately."
 
i hate living in stupid old ithaca...we have such a crappy mail system here. i haven't gotten anything yet, but its 50/50 between my not being an early applicant, and my letter sitting in a bin in the post office somewhere!

i think this is the only time in the past 3 years that i wished i lived back at home in MA

Hehe seriously! It's kind of a weird practice, don't you think? It's not like the early admissions that you normally get from colleges and med schools (months early rather than days early). Oh well. Hopefully even though I'm not superbly outstanding, I'm still good enough. 🙂

Regardless, to those of you who received these early letters, congrats! You should certainly be very proud of yourselves.
 
Congrats everyone!! I am in Boston, but still no word here.

I am not hoping for exceptional promise..I will take marginally acceptable if it gets me in!!
 
i called the admissions office this morning, and was told that decisions should be online monday morning and they'll send us an email when everything goes up.

From last year's Tufts thread, they were posted between 2 and 4 EST. They sent an email 2 hours before posting them (the torture?). I wouldn't be surprised if they don't go up today, though

update... so I just called admissions... the only letters mailed were the early admit ones last tuesday. All letters are **hopefully** as she said, going out tomorrow. They are working on posting the decisions online, but that might not be until tomorrow as well... she said just keep an eye out for the email saying that decisions are posted... and she also said i was the only one to call her today.. her phone has been eerily quiet 🙂

its going to be another long night of refreshing my email every 20 min 🙂

How do you think they respond when people just call and ask if they got in? That would be so awkward...

Anyway, I'm gonna call too just so she knows people are waiting for the decisions. Maybe she'll do them today.
 
Have you all gotten your financial aid stuff in already? I'm freaked out (still waiting on my parents to finish... whaahahahah!!!!) and wondering if there is any correlation between submission of fin. aid stuff and acceptance. Lordy lord I hope not, or else I'm going to be mighty miffed with my family. Something about the forms being due on the 6th and them posting their decisions on the 6th really scares me... Someone reassure me, please??

The financial aid forms are due on Friday, March 9th...I don't think there is any correlation but make sure you get your forms in on time.
 
can we just get a collective "ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!" from everyone on the page? i know they're watching us and laughing quietly to themselves...
 
arggg! The waiting is unbearable (as is refreshing my email every 5 mins to no new mail from Tufts!)

I wonder what the hold up could be... Are they making last min decisions, or are they just twiddling thumbs until they get all the good laughs out from seeing our reactions on SDN?

It's rather scary to think that they could be making last min decisions!!😱

I called today and she said that the decisions would be up "sometime this week", but "sooner rather than later". She also said "I'm hoping to get an email out by 2 today", which has come and gone at this point so I'm assuming we're not getting our decisions today.

is it REALLY that hard to pick a deadline and stick to it? i mean, really. I wouldn't care if everyone got snailmail over the next week or so, but the admissions lady SAID it would be today and i went and got my hopes up just for another admissions office to put us off again. Rawr.
 
i got an acceptance letter today!! not an "early" one, but an acceptance anyway :-D i'm in tx:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
 
crap. sorry guys-- it WAS an early one (dated Feb 27). man, i just figured that it was so late... and i didn't read the letter all the way through after i saw the "congratulations"... 🙁 i guess it takes a long time to get mail down here to the rio grande valley 😛

Man, sorry about that y'all.

No. I know this isn't logical, but every day that I don't hear from Tufts I want to go to Penn more. Too bad for Tufts if they accept me, whenever that may be.
 
Have other schools been better at notifying people about their status in a more timely manner? I know they have a lot to do in terms of decisions and posting them, but the suspense is becoming pretty intense for us...
 
:scared: I know all of this waiting is making me crazy. I don't understand what is taking so long. How hard is it to enter our information on the website....

Cyrille I am starting to feel the same way! My roommate is a 2nd-year student here and has started bugging the admissions office on my behalf (unasked)...apparently letters are going out either today or tomorrow. No idea about when they'll go up online, I think that may to fall to someone outside of the admissions office actually but I'm not positive.
