A group interview for skype??
oh shoot sorry to confuse! like two people from there interviewing me. i did have one of those over zoom for phase 1 though! very awkward! there were like 2 people in person and 3 people on zoom-- no one knew when to talk.

Maybe not right now 🙂)) but I imagine very fast given the rankings need to be submitted in just over 2 weeks. I think my friend who participated in Phase 2 heard back within a couple days. Good luck!

I guess I got my NOW! wish as I just got my first interview offer. (Edited to remove where I got the offer -- happy to answer in PM!)

What are your thoughts on Metropolitan State Hospital? The stipend is pretty huge but I see last year only 49 people applied and now they have 3 spots open...feel free to message me if you don't want to share on here!

I posted this a while ago on another thread but: I heard from someone who interviewed last year at Metropolitan State Hospital that when asked about speaking with the current interns, the person was told "we used to do that but we found that it didn't go well" (whatever that means). Take that for what it's worth from someone who heard it from someone else. But it was enough for me to avoid applying to the site.

I saw this too but still applied D:

thank you for looking out for me though!

On the form, it’s asking for a list of “relevant paid, military and volunteer experience that relates to qualification requirements.”
So I’m not sure if I’m only putting in my practicum experience or if this is something they want for HR and thus also want my paid jobs too....

wow a TD chatted with me on the phone today to give me feedback about my interview performance, and what led to their decisions, i respect/appreciate that so much how nice is that😍
Oh good so it went well! I was like “ahh how nervewracking”

This might be a silly question, but what are you all wearing for Skype interviews? Same attire as for in-person (i.e., suit?) or is business casual appropriate? I feel a bit uncomfortable about having to come into work dressed formally.

I added my practicum experiences since it was kind of volunteer (no pay lol) and they want to see experience related to the qualification requirements.

When I did Phase II last year, I mixed it up. Some days, I would wear a blazer if I did the interview at home. Most of the time though I wore a nice, dressy looking shirt.

I wore a blazer and a button up shirt.
then for work, you can take blazer off and just have the button up shirt on? And a cardigan if you live in a cold state?

Got invited today to interview at children’s Michigan and Asian Americans for community involvement! Both anxious and excited...I was/am frustrated we only had 6 days to re-apply for phase 2 but I am relieved the interview etc process is short! The anxiety can only last so long lol. Also as for dress—I’m gonna wear a blazer and nice blouse just in case and because I don’t want to do anything that would be a point against me at this point, just in case. Sadly I’m on high alert for any little thing that could play a role in rankings. Also I was joking with a friend who’s a paralegal about the Skype interviews and how you need to look nice waist up but you can just wear pajamas or whatever on the bottom and she said in her field they’ll make you stand up in Skype interviews to make sure you’re wearing business pants. *cue major eyeroll* but I guess it’s always possible. So, you know. Wear bottoms.

Invites to South Florida State Hospital, Southeast Human Services, and Ohio Psychology internship!

all amazing sites, I’m very happy 🙂 even happier I can save so much money on flights!
Good for you! Congrats! Haha I’m finding the camaraderie created by us all being in phase 2 makes it much easier for me to be excited for others’ interviews than I could be in round 1.
But I hope you love the interviews!

I also have some blazers I consider formal enough for work but not for an in-person internship interview “sea of black suits”. And I might just wear some of them, because through a screen they’ll read as blazers but not the slightly more casual ones they are. Meaning they have ruched 3/4 sleeves, are in a variety of colors, have pockets or collars with a pop of a pattern, or are an oversized fit —which are ~lewks~ but not a level of nonconformance you’re allowed to display on these interviews.

i didnt hear anything yet hopefully thats not a bad sign!
It's been pretty quiet for me too! I keep trying to remind myself that the directors are likely swamped with reviewing apps while juggling their typical responsibilities! Hopefully we hear from them soon! I also don't know if we can expect to hear anything over the weekend or if they give themselves true weekend time off? lol

haha yeah i was thinking the same thing! they have lives are and are busy...okay going to distract myself all weekend 🙂 this process is like mental challenge to not check your phone. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED 🤓

I have not heard anything yet either. I am very concerned that there is something flawed within my application, my best guess is that one or more of my LORs are not good. I only received 1 interview invite in Phase 1. My stats are comparable to its of my peers who got multiple interviews. After we learned the results of Phase 1, my program director called me in to meet with her, she reviewed all of my essays and a sample cover letter, she said everything was very well written, but suggested I try to make my personal statement a bit more personal. So I did what I could to ensure that the story I told in my PS showed what I personally went through.

I am just very nervous that I won’t match at all.

Sending positive and hopeful energy your way! I have similar concerns regarding one of my LOR as my dissertation advisor and I have had a trying relationship. This process is brutal and I hope the best for you (and all of us). Fingers crossed

I thought they were too busy for rejections but apparently not and I was really looking forward to not getting rejection emails...But I got one. Perfect.

NOOO!!!!!! I was looking forward to that too -_-

When I do skype interviews I dress casually but a plain shirt on top and put on a suit jacket for the interview

I got one too...but now phase II has me longing for them again somehow. Because now I don't know if a site is no longer considering me. I'm considering myself lucky because I have six interviews scheduled after only have one in phase I. I worked a lot on my materials and also changed gears from certain types of sites where I apparently was not competitive.

Does anyone have any insight as to whether sites generally contact people on that Friday or if it mostly happens during the following week?

If you check the late breaking news, some places are still accepting apps! Maybe put in a few more apps to boost your chances?

I applied to every program in the region I am open to live. I applied broadly in Phase 1, but realized after the fact that I am not willing to relocate to another state. I know, that limits my options, but I will take the consequences. Besides, with only getting 1 interview out of 22 phase 1 applications, at sites where I believe my stats should have given me a chance, I really think there is wrong with my application. We will see, feeling hopeless. Thank for the suggestion.

When do you think we should expect to hear back? I think I’m starting to get in my head a bit. Many are saying they’ve heard from multiple sites, and I’ve heard from only 1.

🙁 ah hang in there, you’re not alone!

I bet there are other people who haven’t heard back, they just aren’t commenting on the forum!
Same as with people not matching. I know statistically out of all applicants, most applicants matched than didn’t match.
But I can’t imagine too many people who DIDN’T match in phase 1 were posting about it, because these sort of things are hard to discuss even with an anonymous forum.

if you checked last years thread, people were hearing back from sites the week before rankings were due!

I have not heard back from one site yet. I applied to 17 sites mostly in the southwest region. If I do get any news, I will post on the forum. We can do this!

I went from being selective, to quickly feeling soo desperate haha. i believe this is called a scarcity mindset. still waiting, waiting, waiting :bored: i even want rejections, any kind of response that confirms all this work I've done isn't like dissolving into the void. I can't wait to be the one interviewing people <3 someday

One day soon! Well probably start getting lots of emails/calls tomorrow since it’s the workweek again, and then in a year or two we’ll finally be doctors! just gotta get through the next three weeks Lol

Do people mind sharing who they have gotten rejections from? To at least keep a record for next years applicants!
Sure! I received a rejection from the Staten Island University Hospital, but was offered an interview at the Battle Creek VA (both are neuro tracks).
