I must say though, it was cool to be able to PM in game where really no one else could. So to my fellow avengers, I think we did a darn good job while we were alive.
👍
A number of players could PM.
The 4 SHIELD agents could PM (of course, that included the turncoat bbeventer). All the villains could PM. All the Avengers could PM. And, Iron Man and Potter could PM each other.
Other mod thoughts:
I guess I can't speak to Lissa's reasons for going with less PM'ing, but both of us suggested it at the same time so we just ran with it. I know that I just wanted to see if it would force people to strategize in the public thread more than occurs in a lot of games. It was an effort to make the villagers work harder. I don't know that it worked (well), but I don't think it failed either.
As early as Night 4 this game was about over for the wolves - Abney made an awesome save by freezing Devyn and preventing that conversion, and then Devyn was killed immediately after.
Technically there wasn't supposed to be another conversion, and the villagers would certainly have one. We gave them one on Night 8 because they didn't get the chance earlier and it seemed best in the interests of balance.
Dyachei and IPB are deadly as wolves. They made some fantastic moves that I'm glad I was able to see so that I have a prayer of recognizing them when I'm a villager.
Squirrels: The waitress? Really?
This game took 926 PMs to manage.
Getting you guys to say "Tesseract" in the thread was like pulling teeth. I tried and tried with the item PMs to lead you down that path, but hardly anyone bit. Hmph. I *loved* Lissa's massive unhappy god picture.
Another disappointment: Dyachei had what I thought was a cool role ability - she could make anyone's lynch vote simply not count. The plan was to affirm the correct count even though it obviously wouldn't match up (exactly like what happened when Varz voted anonymously - Varz had the ability to do that any time). We weren't going to explain the discrepancy. I knew Dyachei would be smart enough to hold onto the ability (she could do it twice) until late game or a really close vote, and it just never happened.
I thought that having two characters with the EXACT same role (the medics) would cause some raised eyebrows and mistrust, but y'all weathered that one just fine. Darn it.
All in all, it was an awesome game to watch y'all play, and I had a really fun time doing the write-ups and sending out the results/item PMs. It was a constant source of amusement to Lissa and I to see people reading WAYYYYY too much into them. I understood early in the game, but I figured by night 4 or 5 people would realize that I just like to take modly license with my write-ups and PMs. We giggled when y'all went back and forth over whether the lightning and the electricity were different things.
My favorite part of the game? The postal thing and the theories that there was a postal worker role.
Last comment: Thank you to Lissa for letting me co-mod!
G'night, and thanks for playing! See y'all in the next game.
