First off, there is something called tact, if I had a role, it probably wasn't the smartes thing to bring attention to me. Second off, I would never reveal if I had a role if I did and if I didn't, I would leave it open whether or not I had a role so I would possibly get targeted over others in the game. With that said, I worded that intentionally that way. But feel free to play a princess bride scenario as to why I phrased it that way 😉
Clearly, I'm not drinking any wine you offer me. You're also one of three people who posted before dyachei posted her vanillager disclaimer about role PMs, so all three of you feel role-y to me.

Nope, feel free to look back in games, I am usually one of the first ones posting at the start of days. And I was trying to figure out stuff with my immuno game during that time, so I saw the update and responded. But once again, doesn't say anything about role or lack thereof, just being me lol

I'm assuming that I am also one of those three you're suspicious of?

Doesn't mean a thing. I just happened to be online at the right time. I won't state whether or not I've got a role, but my posting prior to the disclaimer is no way related to that.

Wonder what tie/tiebreaker mechanic would take place in this game? What's the most "classic"/basic method (both die, neither die...?)

I speak up and work the post count and this is what I get. Sheesh.

Yep because you pretty much never post normally. I'm not even sure you even had 10 posts all last game lol. I think this is a game where we need to be aware of some potential false feels from people posting more than usual because of the 10 post per day minimum.

I've never modded or anything, so feel free to correct me, but I thought that RNG was typically used to determine outcomes of lynch ties? Or at least I remember someone mentioning that before.

Agree on that. The reason RM is giving me mild feels is because he's being just a dash more touchy/quarrelsome than he usually is. He's prolly just having a bad WW day though.

RNG is often used to vote when everyone is equally suspicious (like start game, when you have no information regarding whether someone is likely villager or wolf.)

It's also often used to assign roles in games. Think of it like flipping a 28 sided die.

It really varies. I would say RNG of one dying is most typical but who knows?
Oh yeah, forgot about that option!

I'm confused. So you believe the above, which I'm reading as don't be suspicious of people who are posting more bc there is a minimum in effect, but you lynched him for talking? Just wanting clarification.

Oh, no, I know that. But RNG can also be used to determine outcomes of specific actions and settle lynch ties. That's what I was getting at.

Yeah I interpreted that the same way, you can't base it off of "this person is usually more quiet" bc everyone has to be about equally as active. What I would do to see allied or hedge play this game 😛

We also know from the initial post, since you know, some people didn't get any pm at all....

*********lynch LoTF**********
Yeah, and Dy said anybody who didn't get a message is a vanillager. I'm either vanilla or not actually playing this game.

I didn't lynch anyone yet

Whoops, I misread your original post as a question about RNGing in general. -___-

As for tie mechanics, what do you think Dy is trying to emphasize this game? I feel like mods trying to emphasize decisiveness in players opt for no one to die (thus encouraging plurality in the next vote), mods trying for faster games (or sick of lynch ties) will make everyone die, mods with crazy games have something weird happen during ties (see: timeline split in Trilt's Rick & Morty game), and mods who don't really have a big grand point to make (not tired of ties, no strange game mechanics, etc) will just RNG it.

Additional conversation question for everybody: do you think there will be chaos players in this game, or do you think this game will stick to the more traditional villager & wolf roles?

Wow, I thought I was kinda chatty last game. My post count right now is a my subconscious desperately trying to find an escape from the doom coming in the form of Organic Chemistry midterms. I 😍 5 week summer classes.

I think chaos is a staple to WW, so I don't see why it would be in here.

Seeing as Dyachei seems to really want to stick to the WW fundamentals, I doubt there's any chaos players here. They're definitely not necessary to the game, anyway. I'd guess it's just the standard villagers and wolves, with maybe a couple seers or some other roles thrown in.

Define chaos players?

Define chaos players?

Not villager, not wolf, but cause trouble for anyone and everyone.

A player that is neither a villager nor a wolf. They may have a set of win conditions to meet so that they can win the game themselves. May also be able to win with wolves, with villagers, or with either side.

Everything they said. I will also add that chaos players can sometimes recruit villagers, harming villager numbers. If they make it to end game, it can also be a problem, as chaos players don't count toward villager numbers, so having a chaos player instead of a villager means that you have fewer wrong lynches that you can make before villagers lose the game. Most people try to weed out chaos players early.

What do we think chaos can do in a game where most of us are vanilla villagers? Don't they normally mess with people's abilities? I guess that their task could simply be to manipulate everyone into lynching/killing enough players to achieve the win condition, whatever it may be. Idk...I agree with sandy, I'm not convinced that there will be a chaos player in this game

As much as I love chaos roles, I don't think we'll find one in this game.

Did someone read all the way through Dy's championship game? I'm curious what roles were incorporated there, if that was an inspiration for this game.

The championship games were set up on a sort of grid system layout for roles, so people could actually figure out which game grid they were playing based on roles that appeared during lynches/deaths (and therefore figure out how many wolves they started with, for example).

Yeah, agreed. In a "basics" game where (I'm assuming) there are many plain vanillas, find it unlikely there'd be a 3rd faction of any kind.

I think anyone who posts a helping message for a noob when 3 other people already answered should not get credit
I am not liking the post quota. It's boring to read a dozen posts on the meaning and usage of RNG. I feel like some people are just posting to post, not because there's any actual content or speculation about other players.

I'd say a spreadsheet might be more useful in this game than you think. With 28 players, that means a minimum of 280 posts (6 pages) for Day 1 alone. That's a lot of info to keep track of.

Yeah. Eh, this. actually makes me worried. I'm honestly not sure I can both keep up and also post 10 meaningful content posts every day/ day and a half.....we will see I guess.

Is conversion a part of classic mafia, or is that a less-original convention?
