I think some schools do calls, some do e-mails, and some do letters. All will send you an admission packet once you're in though, so that could be the mail date you're reading.

I submitted the last of my materials over Labor Day weekend. I had one transcript recorded in July and the other two (smaller transcripts 1-2 classes a piece) were recorded anywhere between 7-10 days after that.My letters had all been turned in by September 18th an I had submitted my application on September 17th. I hope this helped 🙂
 
Verified a few hours ago. Submitted Sept 5th & all transcript had been received in July. Not sure why it took so long. Was getting worried! Glad that's done. 🙂
 
Has anyone used the mobile VMCAS site? I just checked it today and it's WAY off. It says no evaluators are in and there are no college designations. I almost had a heart attack, but when I check on my laptop everything is fine.

I wouldn't worry- I've been having the same issue all summer. If it bothers you, maybe contact VMCAS?

Totally had the same issues...I don't even look at it anymore because of that. Using Chrome on an Android as well... :shrug:

Probably would have been really easy but I just refuse to do it. Especially since I had other reasons not to apply to Kansas, it just didn't seem worth the anxiety.

Yeah, I kept trying to avoid it too, but it seems more and more schools are making it a requirement so I just decided to take it and open up my options.

ETA: I did refuse to take animal nutrition though for the schools that required that. Wasn't going to happen.

I caved and took that one for a few schools...also because you can get except from it at Penn. It was nice having one less class to worry about in the spring.
 
I actually think public speaking is a very valuable course! It's also a required gen ed at my undergrad university, so I couldn't avoid it.

I didn't apply to Kansas or Missouri because I have an unnatural fear of tornadoes. Yup... I'm serious about that one! I actually really like both of those schools though.

Same here. Really easy academically, but I'd rather never have to speak publicly ever again.
 
maybe I'm the only one that liked public speaking. As long as I had a given topic.

I didn't apply to either of those or Oklahoma state for that exact reason. I have the same fear and tend to get high anxiety anytime weather calls for possible tornadoes.

Damn it I should've applied to Kansas! UGA applicants find out in MARCH. Wtf.
 
Well, I guess my statement is a little misleading. We get our interview invites in early November. Interviews are in January and we hear what list we're on in February. But still, we hear something in November.

Tornadoes shmornadoes. They spice up life. lol.
 
Oh I see. At least you have an idea of whether or not they're considering you.
 
I grew up in Colorado and went to school in Nebraska. Not really tornado alley, but often enough that I've hit the basement a few times. The only time weather scares me is during thunder storms with lots of lightening, and not because of the weather itself. It's because every zombie movie I have ever watched had something bad happen during a thunder storm and I have a really irrational fear of zombies. I swear, if the zombie apocalypse occurs, I am hitting the plains because you can see for miles and snipe those buggers before they can sneak up on you.
 
Second on the fear of zombies. If anything, I'm on your team.

Me too!! I have a fear of living anywhere outside California. For some reason, I have this assumption that tornados occur everywhere except here. Living in PA for two years really freaked me out also. Although I never saw a tornado touch down, didn't stop the media from blaring that obnoxious alarm on the TV during every thunderstorm about a tornado watch. I'm traumatized. :nailbiting: I think if I had to move somewhere else for vet school, I would need to be medicated everyday 😵 hahahhaha

As long as you're not going for me, you get to live. Although my second step in my zombie plan would be to systematically start to eradicate all zombies going out in a circular pattern from a set point, presumably the new starting point for our little section of humanity. Kind of like Woodbury in Walking Dead without the psychopath for a leader. I would keep pushing out from the town and just make a legit "safe zone" and add more living people to the group the farther out we go. At the beginning of season 3, Rick says they estimate about 1/2 of the population is zombified. So we make it a game. Whoever gets to zombie 158,050,000 gets a prize.

So stay out of my circle too.

Is it going to be a problem if I end up taking different courses for winter/spring quarter than what I entered on VMCAS/supplemental applications? None of the courses I'm thinking about changing are required or recommended for any schools, although they are biological sciences. Thanks!
 
I don't think so. The schools just use that to verify that you completed any pre-reqs that you still had to finish. Last year I had planned on taking my last semester of ochem in the spring and put that on my vmcas application. But i ended up getting accepted to a few schools that didn't require that I have a full year of ochem so I dropped the class. I told the schools about it and they were completely ok with it. They did ask me to verify that I had completed all of my other pre reqs though. You should be fine, especially if the courses aren't required for admission. But just to be safe, I would call the schools and explain your situation. Most people in admissions offices are very nice and helpful.
 
Submitted Sept 29 and still not verified and Im worrying because I havent received OSU's supplemental App yet because I havent been verified and its due Oct 31!!
 
Hang in there @plp13, just a littler over 16 days. Sure we'll all be verified and on our ways soon enough...i hope :nailbiting:

Definitely not! I couldn't get into some of the classes I said I was going to take because of the time they were offered, it was no problem. Pre-reqs are all they really care that you still take 🙂

Kansas is my IS and Mizzou is my number 1 choice....when I hear tornado sirens I run to the front porch! 🙂
