are you on quarters?
are you on quarters?
I loved playing quarters during my undergrad years.I loved being on quarters during my undergrad years!
Yes. You and I will be in the same position. You just get there a little quicker than I do.By "enjoy" I mean, study for the MCAT, work to pay back loans, complete med school applications, work on secondaries, and get ready for interviews - yahoo!
I'm completely done on July 3 at 12:30 when I bid adios to Ecology and all things ugrad. That also happens to be my 30th birthday so I'll definitely be celebrating!I'm officially done May 7th at 930PM after my anatomy final. however i am dedicated to MCAT from then til May 27th......THEN the party begins, at least til i get back my scores, haha
We can play quarters again if I attend PCOM-GA - we'll start an intramural team 🙂I loved playing quarters during my undergrad years.

Do you know where you are working yet during the glide year?
i'm completely finished May 9th - then I get to enjoy my glide year.

hey. just saw this. sorry!
I'm debating staying around here and working with some of my professors doing research and keeping my campus job OR moving someplace and getting a job for the sole purpose of experiencing something different for a year.
So. short answer. I haven't a clue.
Dang! It's April. When did this happen? Is anyone taking an April MCAT? (Im not until late May myself)
April 18th for me...yep, this Friday...not feeling too ready, so I kind of anticipate a retake May 31st, but I'm sure going to give it my all the first time and hope

better not to listen to assorted losers blowing smokeI seriously just laughed really really hard when I read this. Whats really sad is that for a moment it gave me hope and I was wondering "Really? I wonder where they heard that from?!?!"
Thanks, I needed a laugh!
All I can do is stay positive and try my best, which is what I plan on doing
I'm not giving up on a SMP. But I think I'm going to apply for a cycle. And see what happens. Throwing out that money without trying to to apply first doesn't set well with me.You could always join the SMP club. It's actually not too late to apply at some places; just hop on by the semi-active forum. I think there are like 4 active posters there who actually answer questions across threads 😛
hey, im new to this and was wondering if this is an okay thread to start the "what are my chances" posts. or is there somewhere better to do that ... i'm getting ready to apply and could use all of the advice i can get!!
Hi all, I'm pretty new though I've been lurking for a bit now. Also part of the hopeful class of 2013, taking the MCAT May 27 (I was basically all about the one date that wouldn't require me getting up early). My GPA's not great b/c the first two years were a mess, but junior year has been pretty good so far. My GPA as it stands is a 3.2 or something terrible like that, so I'm shooting for a 33 or so to compensate.
Anyone else have a ridiculous amount of trouble with physics? I'm a biochem major, so obviously chemistry is kind of my thing, but I make up for it by being a big idiot at physics. I practically get heart palpitations when I think about the PS part of the MCAT - thank goodness it includes chemistry or I would be so SOL.
So here we all are getting ready for 2013!
I am not totally new but haven't posted much. I still have one more app on hold at LMU-DCOM. I had an interview at PCSOM and they liked me but gave me a couple suggestions to take a couple upper level classes. They said that I shouldn't have a problem getting in next year hopefully. So as it was discouraging and hard to swallow the rejection, I am getting ready for next year. I cant wait for the bells and whistles and drunken celebrations!!
I hope to keep up with everybody this whole year. We are in this together.😀
Welcome, and good luck!

I had an awful time with Physics. The only piece of advice I can offer is to just redo problems until you're comfortable with it! Start slow and just do a section each day. That helps a lot!!
Thanks aliDO and good luck to you. Have you taken the MCAT or got any app stuff together?
There are tons of sources of practice problems, including practice MCATs. Also go on Amazon.com and search for MCAT study materials. ExamKrackers, TPR, Kaplan, and so-on, will all have stuff available. Practice is the most important thing.
ive done practice MCATs and I plan on doing all of the AMCAS tests. i was just looking for something that would give me strictly physics problems. i know there are a lot out there...just wondering if there is a consensus on the best one.
I'm taking the MCAT May 31, so basically my time goes to studying for that. Been doing good on the practice tests so hopefully I can keep it up. I've also been working on my personal statement. I won't be in school anymore after next week so that's nice. So, are you going to take more upper biology courses?

Thanks so much you guys!
I actually think that me keeping the idea of a retake in my mind will probably help me relax on test day...it feels a little less final. Of course I'd like it to be final, but by knowing that I'm planning on studying and possibly retaking on the 31st, I think I will be able to keep from getting too overwhelmed on this one.
That's the worst plan ever. Why people EXPECT for the worst is beyond me. I have a friend who said he would go into all interviews not caring if he got rejected or accepted or not. Go into the MCAT with the confidence you will fricking rock it, in hindsight, it's not even going to be considered hard
hey all,
i recently joined sdn and was curious-- after reading some of your posts, it seems like schools wait until you get your mcat scores to make a decision about whether or not to extend an interview. i took the mcat once (25) and am planning on taking it again in august. if i indicate on my application that i'm retaking it, will my application be put on hold until they get the scores in september?! if anyone who has gone through the process can offer insight, that would be fantastic.
🙂
