Ooh, they're is about to be a march on Washington... Or the Dean's office. We have our clinical ethics final Monday and while the syllabus states the final isn't cumulative, the dean emailed us at midnight last night/this morning and stated the exam will be cumulative!

There is an uproar...

Haha. Well, several people emailed him and one person called him. He said "it depends on what you call cumulative"...

I don't mind the change, honestly, they have a right. But in an email, at midnight, the day before the test is a little ridiculous. Especially when we don't have our first test back so we know how its being graded. Just a little frustrating.

Finals start tomorrow and I have to say I'm pretty calm, cool, and collected about it. We had a 4 day weekend and I got a lot of studying done, plus we have the entire day other than the 3 hours for each exam to continue studying. I feel much better about this round than I did midterms where it was long and drawn out and we had classes all day. Now with each passing day, there will be one more class finished and 1 less class to study for 🙂. Can't wait for the weekend when it will be all anatomy all weekend. Best weekend of the semester for sure, number 1 reason because at that point Histo will be DONE! Grading scale for Histo is weighted and it helped my grade by 5% after the final it will help my grade by 10% because the practical part is worth less than it's point value which is good because I am HORRIBLE at IDing stuff in histo, I just don't see it. The cumulative practical :laugh: if I didn't know it for the midterm I sure don't know it now.
 
Histology lab final :barf:

I thought I had the lab material down well, enough to get a B at least. I have no idea how I did but not feeling to great about it. Lecture portion was fine, easy pass there. I hope I didn't mess up the lab portion too much. I don't want to write a supplemental exam for this course.
 
Neuro exam tomorrow, parasitology "quiz" 🙄 Wednesday.
We got to sit through two more lectures of neuro this morning that will be included in tomorrow's exam. Welcome to vet school, Emiloo.

Now THAT sucks.

I had physiology this morning, then immunology tomorrow morning, anatomy on Wednesday afternoon, and finally histology on Thursday morning. Then FREEDOM!!!!

Ew that blows. That is one of the things I like here. Our exams are all spaced out so far. I've never had more than 2 in a week (counting practical /written portions as one test)

Ours were for the most part this semester. But next semester we have 4 hell weeks of 3 or more exams. 😎

For the most part, I didn't really have too bad a test schedule. It's this finals week that absolutely blows.
 
Okay. I have a parasit lab final tomorrow, I had an elective final today and another on Wednesday.

Then next week, it's infectious diseases Monday, clinical pathology Tuesday, clinical anatomy Wednesday, parasitology II Thursday, and pharmacology I Friday.

So. Not 2016, but I kinda wanna poke some of you complainers in the eyeballs. Just sayin'.

This does not look fun at all! We have an exam a day til next Tuesday, but we had a 4 day weekend and the way they are is pretty decent. Wish Histo was today so it could just be over already, but oh well.

We have Epidemiology today, Radiology tomorrow, Clinical Pathology Thursday, Histology Friday, Anatomy on Monday, and Animal behavior Tuesday then freedom :soexcited:

We aren't even allowed to see any of our exams here at Illinois, a policy they changed special just this year, that happens to only pertain to our class 🙄

There is a continuous roar here about it.

Survived the anatomy practical although I'm not sure how I feel about it. Just glad it's over and onto Biochem. However today is going to be kind of an easy study day with some drinking involved later tonight.

Nope. We just get a summary that will say something like Question 16: Area: Metabolism, your answer; A.

Its a bit irritating to say the least.
 
Speaking of getting tests back...
We took an ophtho exam and an immuno exam 3 weeks ago. We took a neuro exam yesterday.
We got the neuro exam back this morning, and still no ophtho or immuno 🙄
 
No SAVMA for me this year 🙁 We have a mandatory event for first years the week of the symposium. They lotto'd it to see who would get to go to SAVMA. They only picked 10 students and I was not one. BOO

Dang, that stinks, and poor planning on the schools part.
I hate when it takes forever to get exams back... at least, I recall hating it from UG :laugh:

That stinks. I couldn't believe they only are letting 10 go, that stinks!
 
Does anyone else read all these posts about people freaking out and being obnoxiously impatient over admissions and want to slap them? And then do you realize that was us last year? I apologize to everyone that had to deal with any annoying freak-outs I may have had :laugh: I am trying to be patient and understanding since I was just there. :prof:
 
Gahh I am freaking out about finals. 7 next (1-2 a day) and just a two-day weekend in between. We will also be tested on stuff up until the last lecture of Friday. I wish we had a long weekend, it would make me much less paniky😱 Good luck everyone! I think I might have a stroke...

I know I was super obnoxious. I try to be understanding and excited for the newly accepted. I think they should do a 1 week of vet school type thing so you can then enjoy your summer, where you go to school for 1 week and learn what it will be like! Then you'd take that time off and enjoy it!

Just 4 more finals to go. In 6 hours finals will be over halfway done. Of course, the bad one for me is tomorrow, not gonna be a fun study day today 🙁. Wish Histo would have been first so we could be done with it already. Oh well, soon it will be over 🙂.

Kind of..... I can't believe that was a year ago.. although with it being my third rodeo last year, I was definitely not as freaking out as much as I was the first year or the second year... :laugh:

We have one more exam a week from tomorrow on animal husbandry. It is only worth 10% of our grade and it is supposed to help to show us how we are "keeping up", if by "keeping up" they mean cramming the weekend/week before the exam, because that is what is happening... Almost just want to say eff it, answer C for everything and then go home... would be interesting if I could pass just by answering C for every question.
 
I am so sick that I am actually drinking tea. I don't even like tea.

Just in time for finals, hooray! Tutoring should also be super duper fun today.
 
Just had my first final... Physio. All I can say is ouch. Hope I scored high enough to keep my B.

It is amusing since my now attitude whenever someone asks me about going to vet school I am like DON'T do it! (unless your like 250% committed). :laugh:
 
Immunology :diebanana: I'm praying to Ceiling Cat that I pass the exam and course. I don't think my soul can take writing a supplemental.
 
Histology today :scared:. Couldn't be happier that the class is almost over, though, just a few hours from now and I will hopefully be done with histo forever! Then an anatomy weekend 👍. Just have to get through another hour and a half of studying Histo, take the exam, and it's over. I can do this!
 
Immunology is finished :zip: I will never again have to suffer through one of those lectures. Today is a glorious day 😀
 
professor says "you don't need to know this for the final, but it will probably be on the NAVLE" and then it shows up on the final=😡:caution::boom:
I'm just glad I'm really good at guessing..

Wow, I feel your pain. Don;t think I could have survived that. Pink Blue. Whatever. It all looks the same. Which you will find a problem if you have any histopathology. All the things I couldn't recognize the first time, are recycled in new, less recognizable forms. SMH
