I don't want to be too discouraging, but with an application later in the season and your MCAT score, I wouldn't put much stock in interviewing at Dartmouth (especially if you haven't heard anything by now). The effect of advanced degrees on the admissions process as been discussed endlessly here, so I won't touch on it. Where else did you apply? Have you had any other interviews?
Hey Kanu9--
I'm a non-trad who was complete in late September and just got my Dartmouth interview invite 3 weeks ago.
Don't give up hope yet! 🙂
I completed back in Dec. No interview invites yet but I have gotten 2-3 promo brochures from them...anyone else receive them? (seems like a lot of $$ being used on snail mail).
Yeah, I interviewed in September and just got the waitlist letter yesterday🙁

Keep the faith, man. I bet their waitlist is pretty active, because they're so strict about keeping their class size small.
does anyone know if dartmouth rejects post-interview? or is it only acceptance or waitlist?
I am seriously confused about what the waitlist means. They are still interviewing people (until April, supposedly)...so why have they already drawn up a waitlist? The only thing I can think of is that the waitlist people must not be as strong of candidates as they people they are expecting to interview? That can't be good? Anyone know?😕
Waitlist people are people whose admissions scores (as determined by the committee AFTER you interview) are below the threshold for outright admission that the committee believes they'll get to before May 15. Many people in my class, however, got off the waitlist once May 15th came around, so you still have a shot at getting in.
Do you know how big the waitlist pool usually is? I guess I am confused why it took admissions 3 or 4 months to decide that we weren't going to be close enough to the May 15 threshold. Does that mean the the waitlist pool is somewhat small and that it might have initially seemed like we were competitive enough to at least come close to a May 15 threshold? Hmm. . . I don't know if I said that very clearly. I guess I'm just wondering if you know the size of the waitlist pool. Thanks!
Anyone know when Dartmouth finishes inviting ppl for interviews? I know they interview through April. Just wondering what the deal was since I was complete pretty late. How long did it take after being complete to get an invite? Thanks
just curious if anyone got an interview invite recently... i was complete Nov. 12th and still waiting for an invitation. when i called the office, they said my file was being currently reviewed 😕
I'm pretty sure I was the only one from MN that day. 🙂 Yes the waiting is definately hard. In all honesty I don't really think I have a shot at getting in, but I'm just anxious to know the final decision. If you get word, please post ok? Good luck to you!!

Hey, for those who have been accepted and think you are going to DMS, I set up a facebook group "Dartmouth Medical School 2012". Feel free to join the group. I want to start to get to know everybody.
Hi everyone. First time poster. I had a quick question. I too was put on the waitlist and was so beside myself that I don't know where I put the letter with all the information. Can someone be so kind as to tell me if I'm supposed to do (if anything) to stay on the waitlist or if I'm supposed to forward any additional information? Thanks so much.
anyone know if Dartmouth's acceptances are thick or thin envelopes?
