I applied to the dual program for CSU: I’m so confused, what does it mean if you haven’t heard anything? I thought the interview invitations were just delayed this year. Should I email them?

What date is the interview? I haven’t heard anything 😭Congratulations! I also got an invite, I'm so excited! I assume I'll see you in January then. 👏👏
My CSU application page still looks the same, no update for the interview.

Minnesota dual interview invite! 🥳 Perfect timing after the colostate blow lol
Has anyone received an invitation to the dual program but was rejected from the Vet school?

I answered you in the Minnesota thread, but I'm going to also answer you here in case anyone else is confused.Minnesota dual interview invite! 🥳 Perfect timing after the colostate blow lol

It most likely means you're being considered for the PhD, but not the DVM. Their admissions processes are separate and they don't communicate with each other very well. That happened to someone the year that I was interviewing, we had "dual program" interviews the same day, but she'd been rejected for the DVM interview already so she was just interviewing for PhD.
Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone could explain to me what it might mean that I have no heard from CSU for an interview? I applied to the dual program and see some of you have already heard back (yay) does this mean that I am not being considered for the PhD? I was under the impression everyone would hear back at the same time?

Yes my impression is that those of us who did not get an interview invite are no longer being considered for the dual degree and are now in the DVM-only applicant poolHello everyone! I emailed CSU and they responded with this:
“Thank you for reaching out to us. As this time first round interview invites have gone out for the PhD/DVM program. If an additional round of interviews occurs, you will be contacted directly from the directors of the combined PhD/DVM program.”
Crossing my fingers for an additional round 😭🤞🏾 (im assuming that will only occur if their first round picks decline their seat).

Just got a rejection from Penn’s VMD-PhD program 🙁( can anyone confirm that I’ll still be considered with the normal VMD pool? I thought I read that somewhere but the letter didn’t specify

ya, it does mean a rejection to both :/Cornell vet rejection, which I assume means dual rejection as well. Kinda sucks to not get a direct answer from the dual program.

Same here. That one stung since it was the my last shot at a dual degree but it probably makes more sense for me to pursue the PhD later on in my career anyways 🥲Cornell vet rejection, which I assume means dual rejection as well. Kinda sucks to not get a direct answer from the dual program.

Hey everyone! I got an OOS interview invite for Michigan State yesterday! According to their website I am now eligible to apply to the dual degree, but there are multiple deadlines for when the application is due on their website (Jan 31 and Feb 7). Do you guys think the Feb 7th one is the actual deadline? Should I just email them or do you think they'll send some follow-up email about it since I indicated on my dvm app that I'm interested in the dual degree?

Me: I'm not going to do a DVM-PhD. I'm too old and it's time to finally leave the lab.
Me at Auburn accepted students' day: Can I set up an appointment to talk about doing a DVM-PhD?🤷♀️
Should note that I've been involved in research since sophomore undergrad, had to master out a PhD program for life reasons, and currently work in research for a medical company.

Accepted to UW Madison’s dual program and will be attending!! Cannot believe it!
I applied, I didn’t hear back yet. I don’t think I’ll be getting it though, I’m a Canadian student and full tuition subsidization for someone who’s international seems unrealistic lolI got an interview invite for Michigan's dual program yesterday. Did anyone else end up applying for it?
I have not heard anything yet either. Did you receive your DVM decision too?I got an interview invite for Michigan's dual program yesterday. Did anyone else end up applying for it?

I did! I interviewed on Monday. So nervous to hear back especially because I have no idea what the odds of actually making it in after being interviewed are. Yeah, I'm really glad they left time for us to ask them questions about the program at the end of the interview. And I think the application invite went out to both newly accepted students and current students, so there's no way to know how many people applied or were invited to interview. But hopefully we hear back tomorrow, or next week at the latest.I did! I interviewed on Monday. Oh I didn't know that current students could still apply. Would the tuition be reimbursed or would you still be on the hook for the year/s of veterinary school you completed prior to acceptance in the CMIB program? I don't expect you to know the answers either haha I know there's not much information about this specific program out there, but yeah it definitely was helpful to be able to ask questions during the interview. Also, sending all the luck!Yeah, I'm really glad they left time for us to ask them questions about the program at the end of the interview. Nvm on my question! I see that you don't receive the tuition reimbursement until after the PhD is completed, so it would make sense that timeline of dual-degree admission doesn't matter
