DVM-PhD c/o 2030 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Apparently it was a real NCSU rejection and they’re also keeping the interview size very small + mostly limited to current students. So it was basically bad timing

I asked for feedback from NCSU and they pretty much said "it's not you, it's me" lol. Because they don't currently have the faculty with available funding for my research interests. Which makes me feel a little bit better ig, still sucks tho 😔

I applied to the dual program for CSU: I’m so confused, what does it mean if you haven’t heard anything? I thought the interview invitations were just delayed this year. Should I email them?

Congratulations! I also got an invite, I'm so excited! I assume I'll see you in January then. 👏👏

My CSU application page still looks the same, no update for the interview.
What date is the interview? I haven’t heard anything 😭

Minnesota dual interview invite! 🥳 Perfect timing after the colostate blow lol

Has anyone received an invitation to the dual program but was rejected from the Vet school?

I answered you in the Minnesota thread, but I'm going to also answer you here in case anyone else is confused.

It most likely means you're being considered for the PhD, but not the DVM. Their admissions processes are separate and they don't communicate with each other very well. That happened to someone the year that I was interviewing, we had "dual program" interviews the same day, but she'd been rejected for the DVM interview already so she was just interviewing for PhD.

Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone could explain to me what it might mean that I have no heard from CSU for an interview? I applied to the dual program and see some of you have already heard back (yay) does this mean that I am not being considered for the PhD? I was under the impression everyone would hear back at the same time?

Yes my impression is that those of us who did not get an interview invite are no longer being considered for the dual degree and are now in the DVM-only applicant pool

Oh! Thank you for this clarification. I am wondering if I should call the school and ask them lol

I emailed CSU and they responded with this:

“Thank you for reaching out to us. As this time first round interview invites have gone out for the PhD/DVM program. If an additional round of interviews occurs, you will be contacted directly from the directors of the combined PhD/DVM program.”

Crossing my fingers for an additional round 😭🤞🏾 (im assuming that will only occur if their first round picks decline their seat).

Just got a rejection from Penn’s VMD-PhD program 🙁( can anyone confirm that I’ll still be considered with the normal VMD pool? I thought I read that somewhere but the letter didn’t specify

Wiso DD interview invite! And also interviewed for their BME PhD.

Feels good after that Penn denial yesterday
