I did my supplemental about 2 weeks ago, and just yesterday my status changed to "Your application is being reviewed for an MMI invite." Does anyone know if this means "MMI hold" or is it still genuinely under first review for an interview?

My understanding is, that it means your application is literally being looked at and waiting to be graded. So I would just hang tight. Best of luck!!

Any tips? This is my first cycle applying
If you’re asking about the Kira, I think I was more natural this time around, trying to smile and looking at the camera lol. But I also improved my application with my PS, more varied experiences, and another LOR. Only a 3.46 cGPA but I think my prereqs were 3.7+

Mines says the same thing 🤞:luck:

MMI invite hold!! considering how I think my Kira went, I feel like I'm lucky to be here!!

Okay everyone, I'm taking my Kira today...Super super SUPER nervous! I never though I'd even be invited to complete the Kira so I'm feeling practically the weight of the world on my shoulders today. Wish me luck!

My understanding is, ”MMI Invite Hold” just means that they are currently in the process of looking at and grading your Kira Talent. Once they graduate it, then they will either invite you for an MMI interview or not. So don’t freak out, it’s all going to be ok!! 💖

You’ve got this! I’m taking mine today too. We’ve all got this! Just breathe and do your best!

Did anyone get a interview yet? Mines still say supplemental review
It's going to take some time for the supplementals to be got through since it is a small team of people who do them. So I would say sit right and wait it out! I know it is hard, but it might take a few weeks to hear anything back!

Okay first of all, you got this! Second, I’m also taking mine soon, but the practice questions aren’t anything to do with vet med, so is it the same thing for the actual assessment or are those going to be vet related??? So nervous too and no idea how to prepare for Kira.

I will say they are definitely more your basic interview questions like someone said earlier in this thread! I was happily surprised to see that I actually felt a lot more comfortable during my Kira than I thought I'd be! I ended up creating a huge GoogleDoc where I listed things I like about UACVM, some of my strengths/weaknesses and any conflict scenarios that I felt best reflected those strengths—kinda like stories I could tell! Then I looked up some suuuuuper basic interview questions and answered those to the best of my ability

Did my Kira Monday night! Don't feel horrible but I don't feel great either, whatever happens I'm just happy that I was even invited to do it in the first place. To everyone who has gotten or will get interviews, you got this and I'm rooting for you!

I was wondering about this! Mine says "MMI Invite Hold" but the language is confusing because the fine print says "we are placing your application on an interview invite waitlist." I wish there was a list of stages because I'm confused on if that means I'm on a waitlist in the traditional "if someone else declines" way, or is that what everyone's says as they review? Can anyone weigh in?

(I also fully did this to myself because my plan was to not think about my applications for a few months, but then I learned that UAZ was updating them in real time and couldn't help but check 🤣)

I have the same question bc i also understood that from the description of that update in my app... so idk i mean it wouldnt make any sense for them to put you on that list if they have not looked at your Kira... imo as a vet school I would do the Kira as a way to know which apps should move on in my process, not double my workload.

This is where everyone gets places until they are done with interviews. It doesn't mean you don't get an interview, it just means you are in the pool they draw from to send invites. It takes a while to review all the apps, so this doesn't mean you aren't going to get one. It just takes time!

I think you automatically get the Kira invite if you meet the minimum requirements, since you pay the app fee only when you get the Kira invite. Then your app as a whole + your Kira interview is reviewed on a rolling basis for an MMI. That’s my understanding but I’d love to know for sure what the MMI Hold/waitlist means!

Ah okay, thank you!! That’s what I assumed, but for some reason the use of the word “waitlist” threw me, ha!

Okay! How long did it take you, or was it just pretty simple like 20 minutes?

The Kira itself took maybe 25-30ish minutes—I wasn't really keeping track but I did take all the time given to me

It will take around 45 minutes. You have 2 minutes to think of your response and 7 minutes to respond. There are 5 total stations I believe so it’s about a 45 minute long interview!

Wow okay! Thank you, so it’s nothing like Casper then. Your responses have to be 7 minutes long??

This is for the MMI, the KIRA is shorter with only 2 minutes to think about a question and a minute to speak for each question. It takes around 20-25 minutes.

mine wasn't 7 mins to respond. It only gave me a minute for each Q

If you’re talking about the MMI it’s 7 minutes to respond but you don’t have to use up all 7 minutes. The KIRA assessment is shorter, I think 1 minute to respond.

Do you guys think around the 2-3 week mark is when you should expect to know if you've been invited for an interview or not? I feel like, based on this thread, people get notified in that timeframe. But if you don't hear back in 2-3 weeks should you assume that maybe you won't get offered one?

Correct! I was on the MMI hold list from Sept to Dec until I received my MMI invite Dec 6th!

Thank you, best of luck on Friday! Does anyone have any prep tips? I have been making sure I'm prepared for topics relating to current events, as well as my reasons for wanting to go to UAZ.. I know all of the things about myself and my application. I just want to make sure I'm the most prepared for whatever they could throw hahah

You've got this! You'll do great!

I took my Kira on 9/13, and I'm on MMI hold. I'm an older applicant who has done several interviews for jobs IRL that are similar to the Kira questions, and I feel 99.9% confident that I nailed the Kira (only because I've done a sickening amount of interviewing/prep in my career and found it to be super easy). I know that sounds arrogant as hell, but I think I'm otherwise a pretty competitive applicant and I still haven't heard anything, so hopefully it offers some relief that I think you just have to ride it out! They probably have a pool of people reading apps and some go through them quickly while some take more time.

Received my MMI invite today! Didn’t get an email notification but saw the update when I checked my portal. For reference, I completed Kira on 9/10, was placed on MMI hold on 10/7, and received the invite today (10/8). Interview scheduled for this Friday (10/10)!

🥳 woohoo!! Get it! Also thanks for the heads up, I haven’t gotten any emails from UAZ even after submitting my app, so I’ll keep an eye on it!

That's amazing! It really helps to see someone else going through the process. Good luck, you totally got this!

Thanks so much for this! I'm also non-traditional and felt like I was being a little arrogant for thinking I might've done well on the Kira! Fingers crossed for the both of us!

What was it like? Was it more conversational?
I wouldn’t describe it as conversational, but they do say to pretend like you’re talking to a friend. They do create a friendly environment and I enjoy that it’s one on one with prep time on your own- so no pressure to start talking immediately after reading a question
