Has anyone heard from VMRCVM?

I'm OOS and I've still not heard anything. I've only heard back from one school about an interview and that was Royal University. Hopefully news comes soon.
 
OOS stater here, although I go to Virigina Tech, that got an interview invite 🙂 Congrats to those who also got one!

Not to be the bearer of bad news but no interview invite pretty much means the rejection is in the mail (literally and figuratively) as there is only one interview weekend.

Good luck at Royal University though!
 
Im OOS also but went to college in VA ( yay William and Mary!).. anyhow i just emailed them to ask if a lack of an interview invite today can be assumed to be a rejection or if more invites might go out later etc.

I'll let everyone know what they say.
 
Does anyone have any idea how many interview invitees they typically do? OOS or IS?

Are they? I hadn't heard that. I know that they tried to make it "less scary" last year (fewer interviewers on the hot team I think). I kinda like that we have the "different" interview set-up.
 
Applicants will be interviewed using the ProFitHR-ADMISSIONS Multiple Mini-Interview (MMI) system. Candidates have eight (8) minutes to answer questions and deal with scenarios at a series of stations, each of which has a different interviewer who will rate the candidate’s performance. You will have two (2) minutes to move between stations. An orientation session will be held prior to the MMI.

That is what my e-mail said, still sounds a bit scary I am not much of a theatrical person so if someone is acting out some strange scenario in front of me I think I might have a hard time not cracking a smile if its something ridiculous.

This reminds me of our recent Communications class. We had mock appointments with clients at the Med School to work on communication skills before going into clinics next year.
 
Yay! I was feeling sorry for myself after my Cornell rejection, so I was very happy to see this email in my inbox today. Two interviews = maybe I have a chance at going to vet school. 😉
 
Hey everyone. This is my first post but I've been reading posts for a while... just haven't had time to join. I just wanted to let you know that I called up and asked about the interview invitations that went out and I was told that they are still working on IS students and that OOS might not get notified until next week. I hope this helps... I was really bummed too...

I know exactly how you feel... this a a horrible feeling! Oh, and let me clarify a bit... I think she meant that they will not be done all of the invites before next week, not that they start OOS invites next week so don't be discouraged yet! I have to confess that I made my friend that did not apply there call because I was too much of a weenie!!! I just saw that there was an OOS invite and I called him to ask him what exactly was said. lol.

The admission director said that acting ability of the applicant should make no difference to the situation... I kind of find that hard to believe.

As for Jochebed, VM is still the only vet school in US to use this format; so we are still unique!

I heard her say that too. I was thinking to myself "are you kidding??" her example with you walking into a room to get a woman to take a flight with you was totally an acting only scenario!! I HATE acting lol its going to be so weird walking into a room and pretending like the person there is someone else in a random situation. :scared:

this is where the extroverts will shine and the introverts need to fight for their lives! lol
 
I know I've been here only very sporadically, but I thought I'd check things out tonight since I received an interview invitation in my email. I'm so overly excited because I had prepared myself for complete rejection. It's almost a bit unbelievable. Anyway, now I need to continue with my regularly scheduled tackling of my 'to-do' list...
 
I've been following this thread for the last week to get info on interview notifications. . . I didn't have anything in my inbox yesterday and I was pretty bummed. Slightly more hopeful knowing that they're still working on ISers!

They didn't do it last year. Instead it was two 15 min interviews, one with two "hot" interviewers and one with two "cold". I am very curious how this new method will work!
 
I think this is the first time they've used this method. I know they didn't for the past three years.
 
Here is one example (From the ProFitHR system) – (the following would be posted on the door of the interview room):
Parking Garage The parking garage at your place of work has assigned parking spots. On leaving your spot, you are observed by the garage attendant as you back into a neighboring car, a BMW, knocking out its left front headlight and denting the left front fender. The garage attendant gives you the name and office number of the owner of the neighboring car, telling you that he is calling ahead to the car owner, Tim. The garage attendant tells you that Tim is expecting your visit. Enter Tim's office.



Not sure if that makes everyone feel worse or better, but i thought it was....enlightening
 
Anyone checking their email every 5 mins today in hopes that it is true that they aren't done with OOS invites?

I'm with my parents returning from my Kansas interview and i'm pretty sure they think I'm psycho bc I've been so glued to my phone checking email and SDN all morning.

I'm in the same boat. I keep waiting for my email account to tell me that I've hit a sign-on limit or something!!
 
Which one of us still in limbo is least chicken to call and get some news? Haha
 
Seriously thinking about calling to see what the deal is. I'd rather just know. Even if it's bad news. But... I don't want to be a nuisance either. Ugh.

Well, I just called admissions. No answer. Hmmmm....
 
K. So I just got off the phone with them. I think I caught them right before they were leaving. She said my application is still being reviewed and there is at least one more batch of invites going out midweek. She said if you don't receive an invite they send you a rejection letter in the mail, so she suggested that if I had not heard anything by Wednesday afternoon to call so I can find out my status.

Soo a few more days of limbo. I hope that helps some of the rest of you!

By the way, she was super nice and did not seem bothered at all by my call so if you are interested in your particular status I would just give her a call.
 
I just got an email with more info on the interview day. They said "business casual", so I guess I won't get to wear my awesome new suit (which I bought for interviews). :smack:
 
I saw business casual but I am wearing my new suit anyway... I bought it for this situation so I am going to rock it out regardless!
 
omg i know i saw that and i was like GRR i just went shopping this weekend! lol I am wearing my suit damnit and they will like it! 😀

Im just waiting for it to be time to go to bed so hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow I will know my fate. Of course I probably won't be able to sleep tonight....
 
did they say they were still work on IS apps or were they done with those?
 
Obsessively checking e-mails every five minutes...:scared:....never wanted an interview so bad in my entire life!!!! Please VMRCVM let me have this interview???????? I am begging you....
 
Just got a phone call from Joyce Massie wanting to reschedule my interview, but I told her I would need to call her back and let her know that I might be accepting a position at Edinburgh and will know by the end of the day. Might free up a spot for someone else OOS?

Alright, I cancelled my interview with VMRCVM. I hope that free's up a spot for one of you hopefuls!!! Good luck to all those who have an interview and I have my :xf: for those of you who are still waiting for an invite.
 
For any in staters still waiting to hear, I called and they have sent out all in state interview invitations at this time. lame.
 
I just called them as well and am OOS. I am on the waiting list!!!
