I have only received one interview since the Dean's letters came out-But I did hear some reassuring info (it's common sense, if you think about it)

This week is crazy for all of the programs downloading all of the letters and trying to review them, and put applications together, so it is not unusual for this week to have little lull.

Hope this helps to put everyone?s mind at ease.

It seems like there is a trickle of interviews and rejections comming. For those who went through this last year, is there ever a rush?

I can understand the madness, but what should you do if you are going to be interviewing in a given city and you have not heard from other programs in that area. Is it too early to contact the program. I have one scheduled in a certain city and I am waiting from another program ( that started giving out interviews weeks ago) in that same city!

If I was to contact, how should I phrase it....I'm not the smoothest but, I think "Am I gonna get an interview" might be a little harsh!


Any ideas?

I think I got a moderate amount of contact about one to two weeks after the Dean's Letter came out. A few in December, and not much after that.

I would call up the program and say that you are interviewing at the neighboring program, but are really interested in interviewing at your program at or near this date...

its worth a shot. Never did it but its better than being left in the breeze.

Not a word from MCG on my end. Not sure what's up over there.

Still no word from Emory either (other than the email stating they were waiting on the Dean's letter to be released, which it has been).

Has anyone applied to Univ of Chicago? If so, has anyone heard from them?

ryanpj: I did an elective at MCG in July. Really liked the people there, everyone was very nice. The physical plant is fairly new, digital xray, patient tracking system, decent computer access. Teaching was quite good, the faculty were great - they were all quite approachable. The residents were also very welcoming of an out of state student. Overall, a good place to train. I plan on ranking them highly. Feel free to PM me with direct questions.
