Hi everyone! I just have a quick question for this year's applicants. I am an OOS student at KSU applying next year and I just wanted to know why the OOS interviews are so spread out? Would it be safe to stay the most competitive OOS applicants get interviewed first? Thanks!

Received news in Georgia. Waitlisted, but at least it isn't a no!
 
Keep your heads up! I haven't gotten anything in Arkansas yet, but a friend of mine lives not far from me and he got his acceptance letter from Kstate in mid February last year. I also asked him if he was waitlisted before that and he said he was not...
 
Okay. Finally got mine! I'm on the alternate list as well. I'm happy 'cus I thought I would be rejected since I didn't do that great at the interview. Pleasant surprise 🙂

I got my acceptance letter from KSU today. I will be turning down their offer if that makes anyone feel better.

I got my acceptance letter today!!! So pumped, it's finally hit me that I'm going to be veterinarian!!!!

KSU is my absolute number 1 but I have to wait on my IS I don't know if i can justify the added cost, with my grad school loans. =(

I was accepted & will be declining, so a waitlist spot is open! I hope someone gets to feel as happy as I did!!!!
 
I'm accepted! Will have to decline if I get contract seat at LSU due to cost, but I really like Kansas!! Congrats to everyone who heard good news!

My name is Christina and I am a soon to be graduate. I will soon be moving on and I wanted to share a housing opportunity for you. Its a 2.5 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms. ( There is two of us living in the house each have dogs, besides our bedrooms there is a middle room we use as an office , and there is a small room in the basement that we have a futon in and use it for guests.) Living area and small dining area off the kitchen. It has a fenced in back yard, pets are welcome, no pet deposit required, as long as pets are cleaned up afterward. There is a drive way with room for three vehicles. The living room has hard wood floors. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc included. The basement is not finished, it has a living area, and like I said a small bedroom. Both rooms will be available. The house was bought for a 2010 graduate by her parents and they have rented only to vet students since then. I have been here 3 out of the my 4 years here in KS. Rent is $1000 a month (500 split between two people) , which is a great price for the amount of space compared to an apartment. Please contact me at [email protected] for more information.

A bunch of people were put on a "waitlist" for interviews back in December and someone termed it "interview bootycall" as they needed to fill seats haha I was just curious to see if anyone received one of these late interviews, or if we should just start looking at it as a rejection from KSU ultimately.

I just have heard amazing things about their program from a new grad that works at my clinic now... I'm just wondering if we will receive an official rejection or if we could still be contacted for interviews, thats all!

Unfortunately I dont think it works this way. When you are waitlisted for an interview you are waiting to take someones interview spot on the days interviews are conducted. Once interviews are over I believe so is your shot at the interview at that particular school. They interview ALOT of people compared to their class size. They interviewed 451 people, and accepted 256 for a class size of 112. That isnt including the waitlist of people who got the interview and were waitlisted instead of accepted/rejected. At the pizza party thing they said they do go through alot of their waitlist but always have enough to fill the class. You could always contact admissions to find out definitively.

Although I loved and giggled at the term "bootycall interview", I have to second that I think those chances are shot. I got a bootycall interview and still haven't heard anything, and I'm assuming that's my rejection. I know many people may turn down their slots, but they probably fill them pretty easily with alternates. 🙁 k state was my top choice
 
Hmmm so I wonder if we were put on a wait list for interviews, how long will it actually be before we get our actual rejection.
