I have a weird problem. 10 years ago, I did not do well in school at all. I failed a bunch of courses ad this has unfortunately haunted my transcripts but I did re-take all of my failed courses. Per K-State's website, I can replace a failing grade by retaking the course. So, in my freshman year, I ended up failing Bio I. My first university called Bio I, introductory to cellular and molecular biology and genetics. The course description is simple but it mostly suggests the same topics covered in Bio I. The only prereq for this course was College Algebra. When I got my denial email I was confused because I haven't failed any other prereqs and I obviously have replaced this biology course. I responded to the email and the admission person stated that I failed genetics and told me this course fell into the genetics category. I was a freshman, with no other biology courses so this certainly wasn't a genetics class. I am also in the midst of taking genetics this semester.
I responded with the course description and prereq information. I also emailed my previous school so that they can give me a statement validating my claim that this course was biology I. With that, I am not very hopeful that I will still be considered. Has this happened to anyone else? I am now freaking out that other schools will mistake this for a genetics course due to the name.
