Seriously though, it was a good interview. I hope everyone who was there enjoyed it and did well.

Does anyone know when the Adcom will meet for the group that just interviewed this last Friday?
 
After the longest wait ever, I finally received my acceptance today from the 8/13 interviews. This is a great day and I can finally stop checking the mail every single day.

Yeah, I was thinking about you as the days kept passing without a letter. The postmark on my letter was about 2 weeks after it was dated, so I really only get a few weeks to get the deposit in, which kind of stinks, but I'm extremely happy and I loved LECOM.
 
Hey all!

I'm new to SDN and I've already submitted my primary applications on 8/28 to LECOM-Bradenton (my top choice in school) but I'm still waiting on my secondaries. Do you think Labor Day had anything to do with my applications being sent to them? I didn't get the verification e-mail till about 9/7 so the fact I haven't heard anything has me rather nervous (this entire process has me nervous to begin with :scared: lol).

My stats pretty much are: 3.5 cGPA, 3.4 sGPA, and low MCAT (I mean embarrassingly low score) the first time I took it. I retook it on Sept 3 and now I'm just waiting to hear back on those scores. Over the years, I've been involved in some volunteering, but most of my experience comes from actually working in various medical settings...which I hope will outweigh the fact I have little volunteer hours since I've had to support myself financially. I don't want to sound like I'm riding the minority train, but would being a Hispanic female carry a little extra spice to my application? Really I'm just wondering if some of you think I'd have a shot in hell in getting accepted to Bradenton (because there's really nowhere else I'd rather go to 😀).

So I got a letter in the mail today saying that I will not be given an interview at LECOM - Erie; but the admissions portal still says 'your file is under review..' Anyone in the same boat? I have tried contacting admissions, but they have not responded to me. I've been complete since like early August.

Any idea what stats are competitive for this school? I'm a little worried as to what to expect from other schools at this point, because Erie was definitely high on my list.

If have cGPA and sGPAs >3.4, MCAT >26, and ECs related to community service, you should be competitive. (IMO)

Unfortunately, letters via snail mail are final. I wouldn't worry about what your online status says. You can call to confirm, but it's most likely that they just did not update your online status.

Don't worry about things out of your control with other schools. you already submitted you applications and have to wait-and-see if other programs are interested.

I would focus on just building up your ECs/grades during the next couple months, and updating the other programs you applied to in order to show them that you are not only very interested in their programs but also that you are strengthening your application in the process.

I completed my secondary application in late July and have yet to hear back. My MCAT is 31 and my cGPA is greater then 3.6 and I have good ECs and such. I don't get it...any LECOM students have advice on what I should do? (should I phone/e-mail them?)? BTW I am a Canadian applicant.

Yessir 🙂 I chose the earliest possible DMU interview date for that exact reason. I didn't want to eat $1500....
 
Complete email on 6/22. Called today and they said they are taking a long time with some of the applications, a really, really, really long time. ughhhh

Not a LECOM student but I've applied to this place more than once - I'd check your portal checklist for stuff missing if you didn't already do that - if nothings marked as missing you might want to give them a call just to make sure they have everything - a friend of mine had taken APs and his application wasn't complete until a college transcript was sent directly to LECOM
 
My status on the admissions page says, " The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 30 days."

I didn't get an interview invite email- does that mean my chances for LECOM-E is over? I'm so bummed right now... 🙁🙁🙁

you have great GPA/MCAt and Ec. I do not see why you are fearing a rejection letter. Go online and see waht requirements you did not meet.

It seems likely :/ It could be an error of some sorts, you ought to email the admissions office..

Hey guys! I'm new to the thread (and to the network...although I read it everyday). Since you guys seem like you know what's up, I thought I would see if someone here could help me out...

I was invited to interview in November on August 22 and my "folder" says that I have some credits missing (which I'm pretty sure is an error). Here's the problem: I've tried contacting the school via email 3 times with no response. 🙁 Anyone else having this problem?

sounds like you applied recently,

mine was verified 9-9-10 thursday


also DOES ANY ONE KNOW what is going on with SETON HALL CAMPUS, you can not apply there automaatically, but they start their first class soon. What is going on?

You have to apply to the Erie campus and then at the interview they will have you make a choice of pathways. They also have 2 classes at Seton Hill already.

based on your stats, i would be surprised if they reject you straight out. your gpa is higher than mine and my mcat is only slightly better than yours. as i was mentioning on the other lecom thread, i also received a similar application status about the 30 days (but i forget if it also said something about receiving an official letter). and on the 29th day, they emailed me an invitation.
 
My status has just been changed to "Your file is on hold until you have attended your Bradenton campus interview".

Is the consensus that this is a good sign? Very curious/anxious since I still have 3 weeks for my Bradenton interview.
 
Can any current/former LECOM-E students who have families (spouse/SO/kids) comment on how life in Erie is for them? Jobs, things-to-do, childcare, schools, safety, etc.?

The general idea of things that I got from recruitment people and two current students I spoke with was that there are jobs if you are willing to work, and childcare is pretty cheap, crime is low. Schools I haven't heard anything about.

And yes, I know it snows. A lot. A lot lot. Is that just a required answer whenever someone asks about Erie, PA???? 🙂

I also got this message "The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 30 days." and i was soo hopeful cus i have a 3.8 graduate gpa but my mcat was a 24Q :/ it just ruined my day hopefully its not a rejection

go to your online account and see the status(requirements not met)?
 
iamdo i just did and i have 3 credits in inorganic chemistry but im planning on taking them this winter. does that affect my chances of getting in?

I would venture a guess and say, "yes" because they would then be potentially saving you $1500 if accepted to both ...

BUT, that seems like an awfully long time to wait for a definitive answer. Also, you could end up spending that same amount in other interview trips within that time frame. If it was me, I'd rather just know right now.
 
I just submitted my secondary application today. I have my letters already uploaded on Interfolio. I'm not sure if it would be suggested to send them electronically now or wait until they decide whether or not to give me an interview. How long did it take until they decided on an interview after you submitted the secondary?

I would save the money and wait until they ask you for an interview. They got back to me 3 days after I completed with the invite.

Welcome fellow Oregonian! I am so darn homesick right now. Have been in the southeast for the past 4 years. The weather's nice but I could do with some real coffee and marion berries. :laugh:

Your application is being placed on hold and a decision will not be made on your file until you have attended your interview at our Bradenton campus. Once both interviews are completed, a decision letter will be sent to you.


What do you think, is this a good or bad thing?

The wait has to be excruciating. I wonder why they did that. Did you indicate you wanted the PBL track?
 
quick question, how long did it take you guys from the time that your application went "under review" to the point where you were informed???

OK. So I see other people believe this is a sign of doom.

The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 30 days.

Are interviews only granted via e-mail? It seems pointless for them to be ambiguous if they only send rejection letters via snail mail...

Thoughts?

Not too long for me, maybe a week. It took my friend two weeks.
 
that would be amazing, cuz if I dont get an interview invite somewhere before october, I think I will have a nervous breakdown!
