I've seen around that the 2023 NAVLE was harder all round for almost every school stats-wise, more than likely attributed to COVID learning, and with LMU, are the people who've taken the NAVLE that year coming from one particular class, and/or retaking?

The website reports 2022-2023 NAVLE as 89%. As for the rest, I honestly do not know. I believe that number is for the CO23 only.
 
Hi friends!
I checked out last years forums, and Nov 1 was the first wave of acceptances/denials. I think that may be a good estimate for those of us waiting on fall decisions post-interview.
 
Has anyone else who applied for fall already been rejected without an interview? I feel like I’m the only one and I’m really curious as to why I was rejected so quickly.

Did you meet all the requirements and GPA limit? Did you ensure to have the specified LoR from a veterinarian and others?
Do not feel bad, I am certain an acceptance is on the horizon! 🙂

Yes, my gpa is above a 3.0, only one pre-requisite course outstanding, and 4 letters of rec completed, two from veterinarians!

How was your personal statement? When I wrote mine I had several people critique it. My mother who said it was great, my sister who said it was great then 2 unbiased people who said it was beautifully written but..... you didn't fully answer the question.
 
I'm concerned because I put that I'm willing to start spring or fall and I haven't heard ANYTHING. Now I did have a delay with my application because of a foreign transcript that I have since ironed out with them and the other programs but it's worrisome that applicants that only applied for Fall are recieving interviews and admissions offers for Spring prior to applicants who are able to start in the spring.

I submitted on September 15th.
Invited to interview on September 26th.
Actual interview on October 11th.
Accepted on October 20th.

I hope this helps with the timeline of things!

I put my deposit down for the silver 2028 class two weeks ago now, and I'm wondering if anyone has received the matriculation package we were told to expect in the mail yet? Or if theyre being sent at once at a later date? I'm mostly concerned about technology requirements! I really want to buy an ipad now as I have a friend willing to sell me one, but I wanted to wait until I knew about any technology requirements! Any insight on tech requirements would be great, thanks!

I got an email Monday asking for a physical address as it was being sent out ASAP, should be to you soon if you've put your deposit down! But don't know any specifics on tech reqs

Yeah I filled out the survey asking for a physical address 2 weeks ago, I think it wanted me to fill it out before Nov 3 so I wasnt sure if they were sending them then... I just wish I knew about the tech requirement and I emailed admissions asking but didnt hear back :/

I have not received mine yet. I did ask about computer requirements and they said it is up to each individual, but more information is in the package. I am also waiting on the same information before I purchase a new laptop. I also have an iPad.

There isn’t anything too specific you need for technology here. But here are the tech specs from last semester for us. It could have updated a bit since Examplify updated recently.

Does deferring till spring 2025 guarantee my seat? Holly has been replying my email kinda slow. And I’m just a bit paranoid

It’s technically not guaranteed until you pay, but it’s effectively “held” and that’s if the deferral is approved.
 
I called Holly this morning and she said the deferral option is full🙁
 
I’m so torn now for what to do…does anyone has any idea on what your chance of getting selected from fall pool

If you already got accepted for spring I’d be optimistic, however, the fall applicant pool is probably much larger than the spring so keep that in mind

I’m still debating but might just gonna accept the spring start. I looked through last year’s threads and some people ended up being waitlist when they go back to fall pool

Do some soul-searching. It is a huge financial investment to attend vet school. Make sure the program meets your needs. Acceptances do not come easy but you also want to make the right decision for yourself.
 
this might be a weird question, but can you drop out of vet school mid semester if you received acceptance from another school.

I mean nothing’s stopping you, and I heard that a few people did do that in last year’s Silver cohort. It’s just a lot of money to lose (first semester tuition, deposit, move…probably a lot of hidden expenses less immediately obvious too.) But if you can swing it and are fine with eating the logistical headache, it is an option.

I agree with Lizardman. You need to crunch some numbers. I have heard from students that transferring is VERY difficult. If you get accepted to another program that you would rather attend, you are throwing away the cost of 1 semester at LMU, housing, living, etc. If there is a different school(s) you would rather attend and you feel your chances are decent to get in (you did get into 1 school, chances are good for others), you might want to hold out. Everyone is in a different place in their life whether they can wait a bit more or just need to get started.

Thank you for your advice! I will need to pay the deposit by November 3rd so have couple more days to consider. My application this cycle has been going better that last cycle, currently have 4 more interviews coming up vs. only 2 last cycle. It's just an unavoidable hard decision I have to make I guess.
 
Does anyone know which Vet schools require Fall transcripts before decisions? I understand IOWA state is one school that requests transcripts be sent in January
 
For people that deferred till spring 2025. Does your deposit due date changed? Mine still says the original due date but I guess I probably shouldn’t worry too bad about it

Did they open the deferral option to you? I thought you had checked earlier with Holly and it was not available.

yes she approved my deferral fortunately. She probably didn’t know I emailed her before to request deferral when I was calling her last Friday. She responded my email yesterday morning approving my deferral

The email I received that approved my deferral says that my deposit will be due in the fall of 2024 (don't remember the date). The LMU portal still says 11/3/2023. I think I am going to ignore it.....
 
I interviewed for fall semester only on the 18th of October, should I be worried I haven't heard anything or just hold my horses😅

I interviewed for fall on sept 18 so and haven’t heard anything… so if you should be worried then I should really be worried 😅
 
Pretty sure we wont hear about fall decisions until like december because they are working on filling the spring class

If you have an approved deferral, do not pay until closer to the date outlined in the email. If you don’t go to lmu that money is 💸 if you do matriculate, it goes toward tuition.

No fall notices have gone out, so if you’re eligible for fall only or recently interviewed for fall don’t be worried. The earliest info could - I stress could as an educated guess - is Nov-Dec.

(Edit to add, Dec-Feb is most likely timeline I’d when those could start going out)

Those fall offers won’t go out likely until the spring class is filled/nearly filled.
