Hey guys, I was accepted to this program today and wanted to start a thread for the 2017 cohort so we can talk about details, concerns, etc. Any feedback from anyone who has completed this program would be greatly appreciated. They increased the class size to 150 apparently, so that means more competition for the medical school. Also, if anyone is looking for a room mate for the program, I am 24, female, and looking for a female room mate to help reduce the cost of living. See you all in the fall hopefully!

**Edit- Anyone know if there's a Facebook page?

Hey guys, I was accepted to this program today and wanted to start a thread for the 2017 cohort so we can talk about details, concerns, etc. I've done research on a lot of post-bacc programs and this seems to be the one with one of the highest linkages to its medical school. Any feedback from medical students/anyone who is completed this program would be greatly appreciated. They increased the class size to 150 apparently, so that means more competition for the medical school. Also, if anyone is looking for a room mate for the program, I am 25, female, and looking for a female room mate to help reduce the cost of living. See you all in the fall hopefully!

Hey I've recently been accepted too! I am still waiting to hear back from other programs. But there's a very high chance I am attending this school since it's like 5 hours away from my home in CA. I think there hasn't been a Facebook group yet. Anyways, congrats on your acceptance!

Same boat! My family will be living ~5 hours away in cali. I might ON you about a minor detail if that's okay

Hi, I just came across prospective programs, but I've got an uphill battle, and wondering if it's worth my time/money applying here. I'll be applying in the next two weeks to the MA program.

Stats.
GPA: 3.30 sGPA: 3.0
MCAT: 487 (April 2015) :/ and preparing for April 28th MCAT
1 year as an ER Scribe
1 year as a testing engineer at an orthopedics/biomechanics lab (2 publications)
Working currently in clinical trial research at a medical school (Endovascular Neurosurgery)
Medical Mission Trips to Mexico

Anyone know if it's worth applying here? I've been out of college since 2014 and have not kept up with any professors, but have letters from Osteopathic doctors, as well as research supervisors.

Also, upon completion of the MA program and given the interview, do you start at AZCOM immediately after?

Thank you so much. Very desperate here.

I think everything looks good on there except the MCAT. AZCOM likes high MCATs. There is also an interview agreement that is contingent upon your GPA in the program and your MCAT score

Hey, i applied 2 days ago to the program too. I was wondering how long did the process take you? And also, is it easy or competitive to get in?

In terms of the turnaround time, my application was complete in mid-February, and I was contacted for an interview via email a few days after that. I received my acceptance email one week after my phone interview. It's a really big school. I don't know how "difficult" it is to get in; I do know that last year, they accepted somewhere between 120-150 people into the M.A. program. I would say that if you really want to go to this school, put some thought and consideration into your personal statement. It's a really difficult program and I've been told directly by many sources that it's hard to do well.

Also, keep in mind that they increased the size of this program from the initial limit of 100 students, which probably means more competition for the medical school.

It's actually competitive. I applied early. Got an interview January 4th. Heard back 7 days after my interview that I was put on the "alternate" list.

Hello everyone, I recently applied to the MA biomedical as well. I was wondering if anyone knows how long does the process take to hear back. And also, what's the acceptance rate? is it hard to get in?

We already answered you, homie

Hey guys. Do we have a facebook page for this group yet? If yes, please post and share 🙂 good luck to everyone applying.

If you guys are deciding on a different program, I ask you kindly to let admissions know ASAP, there are people like myself who are on the waitlist and are 100% set on Midwestern's BMS program! Please let them know, so we can get off the waitlist!

Let's help one another-!
Thank you- 🙂

Just declined my acceptance to the program, hopefully my spot will go to one of you guys. Best of luck!

May I ask why are you declining your acceptance?

I'll be attending Touro-CA for there MSMHS, which is closer to home and from what I hear, has strong matriculation rates into there college. Midwestern also has good matriculation rates, however, the main problem I have is that I don't know what those rates are, the website is pretty vague. Although it definitely seems like a place I'd want to attend for medical school.

I was also accepted to the TOURO MSMHS programs, both the Cali and Nevada locations, but chose midwestern over both of those after speaking directly with students and ad-com's from all the programs that I was accepted to.
*Edit- don't trust matriculation "statistics" from websites. These are, indeed, linkage programs, but there's never a guarantee and the statistics are sometimes straight up wrong. You didn't make a wrong choice whatsoever by choosing Touro-CA, but just know that their statistics aren't an accurate representation on what actually ends up happening at that school. Such is life.

That's interesting. Well, can't go back now! Best of luck to the both of us!

Hi! My interview is next week. Any advice on what to expect and how I should prepare for the interview? Super nervous!!

Just a heads up for anybody waiting for a post-interview status, I noticed in the portal I suddenly have access to the matriculation agreement and deposit. No official correspondence yet but I figure that must mean good news. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm on a couple DO waitlists but plan to attend here if they don't pan out.

I was placed on alternate list... Does anyone know if they take students from alternate list?..

Hey, I hope you get in. I just applied two days ago and my application is under review but I am pretty worried about acceptance or even being on the waitlist because U have poor stats. cGPA: 3.01. sGPA: 2.79. DAT: 19. May I ask why do you think they put you on waiting list. what are your stats ? thanks

hey, would you mind sharing your stats with us ? I just want to weigh in my chances in getting accepted

Withdrawing my acceptance, hope it goes to one of you guys that are waiting!

I got accepted to a similar program at rowan and Lincoln memorial along with midwestern and I can't choose. I like the location best at Midwestern since I have family in Colorado and the weather there in general. But since I am also planning to go to their DO school right after the program (hopefully), it is making it harder to choose. Any suggestions? Any opinion is greatly appreciated.

I have heard great things about Lincoln Memorial. A lot of my med school friends go there and told me great things about their faculty and how much they care for their students to succeed.
Do you plan on going to DO school at lincoln or midwestern?

Hello there, had anyone on the waiting list heard anything back from Midwestern about their status ?

I'm on the waitlisting list and haven't heard back. You can expect to hear back from admissions anytime between now until the first week of class August 28th. .
unfortunately., Its just a matter of waiting.
They won't rely any more information other than that.

Pretty sure I'll be placed on the waiting list, but I'm having the phone interview in a few days. If anyone is willing to let me know the specifics of what they asked, how many people are on the call, what to expect, etc, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks

I had my interview roughly two weeks ago and was placed on the alternate list. My stats are not great but my interview went very very well. I do not think they have any room for the incoming class unfortunately.

Only one member of the MA admissions committee interviews you (at least that was the case for me). Questions asked during interview: Why MA? How will you get through the tough course load? Have you applied to professional schools? When would you like to apply to professional schools? Have you taken the MCAT? He talked a little about the 2 year program which is more research based & suggested I apply.

It is closed-file so the interviewee did not know anything about my stats and only had my personal statement and resume from my application. It is very lax and conversational lasting exactly thirty minutes.

Hope this helps!

My interview was exactly as you described and I also felt it went really really well so i guess........i'm in the same boat as you i'd presume. pm me your stats if you're willing!

for other people in here, if you were accepted are you definitely coming here or choosing other post bacs over it?

I accepted my admission to the MA program and just declined my offer to LMU Vet Biomedical Master's Program. The course load seems pretty tough so I am definitely nervous. Has anyone heard the success rate of students who have gone through the program?
