Why did you not defend yourself before now? Why did you not defend your actions? Why is the only thing you've given us a role name and an unverifiable claim that you a super important? If in fact you are important, why did you not think it would be better to defend yourself using something else rather than painting a target on yourself?

Do you know I don't think you're in the lead anyways based on what zooters said but I still have all these questions?

I find this really interesting as the roles I've seen have all been magical creatures. Not saying people don't have a place for roles in this game, just find it odd that there's lots of magical creatures and then you.

Sorry, I'll try to go with the flow more. Hey at least I'm enthusiastically trying to be involved in the game, that's how I learnt how to play table top RPG, by starting off as the world's most annoying newbie and asking an incessant amount of questions and attempting to jump 5 paces ahead of myself. 🙂

The good folk thought they knew who to trust, and the evil ones hid well. Magical beings turned on one and other. Darkness was fast approaching, and we all know what happens when the sun sets. As names were tossed about during the town meetings, all logic was thrown out the window. They couldn't bear to lose anyone else, but two names were eventually called out. Two? Two? She did do a wolf brag in DRoP when we were wolves together, as some others pointed out. While I can see where you're coming from, I am just not getting as many feels from PBC as I expected to, mostly because when I was a wolf with her in that game she kept all of her enthusiasm in the wolf chat and kept most of it off the thread to avoid suspicion.

I actually had forgotten about that wolf brag, so I eat my words there. I still agree that mentioning she'd be wolf bragging x hours out is a bit weird, and I'm still not convinced by her claim even now.

I don't disagree at all, I just think it's stupid. Why bother playing the game? We could all just role reveal at the beginning and whoever has the sketchiest role gets voted. And then some mod will say "haHA! I know! I'll mess with their minds" which has been done a few hundred times now.

It just gets old. People need to play the game the way it was intended - based off of hints, suggestions, tells, and reads. Not "Uhhhhh..... no info, so I'm gonna RNG the game away or force people to role reveal."

I agree with you, but I also think that as long as we have roles, they will be leaned upon. Because the reality is that we jump on people for ridiculous things all the time, and if you can dispel the ridiculous things with a good role claim, it would be silly to not. We just talk a lot more before getting to that point. That's why I think a certain amount of "haHA!" is not a bad thing in design.

And even jdh's game allowed roles/abilities to spoken about in PM (although they were not helpful to finding wolves in this past one), so we'd have the same situation where people would simply reveal to a buddy as defense.

That's one of the reasons for asking people to talk about what they're reading and how they're interpreting it. Forcing them to talk more - and commit to how they are interpreting something - builds down the road.

Yeah. Day 1 is always gonna be horse****e. But there's no reason it can't be a foundation for Day 2, Day 3, etc.

And this is a meaningless nothing, so let me elaborate:

I'm still not happy with PBC. Probably tunneling. It's probably nothing. But nothing in that role makes me think of gleeful PBC who loved her "change the role seering of a person" roles and revels in chaos. It still feels wrong to me, and it probably goes without saying that it'd be nice for someone to investigate her.

I genuinely don't think my reasoning on PBC claiming a "villager yada yada" was that bad, and I'm a little perplexed that AM almost got lynched for agreeing (and following) those thoughts. Am I misunderstanding something about that situation?

Yeah I have noticed that in other games as well. I think the odds of getting a wolf on a first lynch cycle would be extremely low. I'm trying to listen to what others are saying though for future cycles, people have been very helpful with the sorts of things I should be aware of that might hint at wolfiness. Just need to put the mentoring into action. 🙂

I didn't say we should never use roles. I'm on board with using all the info, though I hate the quick role reveals. But people in prevet games are like 95% dependent on role info instead of the maybe 15% they should be. Wayyyyy too many people who say "whelp, I don't know anything, so....."

I could get on board a PBC lynch tomorrow. None of her answers to me were substantive. I just was leery of how that voting seemed to go.

I think I'd like to look elsewhere tomorrow to keep discussion rolling. But if we get close to lynch close without someone that I feel better about, I'll be back on PBC like white on rice.
