Well the transcripts confused me because they don't seem to ask for them in the application? Or did they and I missed it

No your right they didn’t , and i didn’t see anywhere to upload them, however they say that the transcripts can be sent electronically , if desired.. idk what that means, anyone else get it ?

Some undergraduate schools offer two options of sending an official transcript: either by mail or electronically to the other school's email.. while some undergraduate schools offer that, others only offer the mail option!

If they are keeping the same energy from previous years I would think it means you will know by July (1 month before classes start). But hopefully faster lol. Maybe they have a list of people they know they will automatically accept if they just apply.

If desired may mean for those people who did not apply to the med or dent school but are applying for the MHS only (meaning they don't have their transcripts but have ours via AMCAS). Because honestly, if I gotta pay 60$ and send my transcripts again when I know that the med school could just send over a PDF of the transcript class verifications from AMCAS I would be a little upset. I'm to broke for alla dat.

I tweaked my personal statement. It answers the questions well and I believe i get my point across.

Facts.. I’m gonna email them Monday to see if they can just use my transcript from my AMCAS app. No need to pay again to have it sent .

If I haven't heard by late April I'm applying. It would be a nightmare to get silently rejected and miss the opportunity to apply to a program that will help get me into Meharry.
 
Y’all should think about cutting back on some of the info shared in here out of fairness for those who were initially notified. I’m just saying kindly no shade because some people were fortunate enough to interview but others never made it that far and are completely out of options.

Getting an interview doesn't mean acceptance is guaranteed. Also understand that premeds are NOT competing against predents. There is a set number of seats set aside for both med school and dent school.

The intent of this forum is to spread accurate information and increase knowledge. I personally am open and willing to share any information that I receive that will help future Meharrians. Also, this is my number one choice and only option.

It’s getting intense in here *understandably*. I suggest that all that were invited apply by April 1st and leave the rest to God. If you were personally invited, it means they know your story and want you to contribute to the MMC culture in some way.

Have faith...

Haha I’m already stressed and just need positivity rn if we all get into the program we have to help each other and be supportive. I’ll would be moving far from home and hope to find a little family at MMC!

Interesting thread. Got spicy quickly. Lol anywho. I received an invite a few days ago, in the process of tweaking my personal statement and then submitting.
Question: so the invite is them actually interested in what we could offer to MMC or we got them automatically after getting rejected?

be mindful. This is what the FAQs say on the website
Currently, no, Meharry's Master of Health Science Program for the Medical and Dental Schools is by invitation only. In the coming academic years, the program may move to having an open application process. To be considered, you must have applied through the application services of the respective schools (AMCAS or AADSA

Also on the graduate applications page they only give directions for the PA MPH and PhD programs.

If you are applying without invite I would call the school to make sure your application will be considered

It says currently no Meharry Master of Health Science program is by invite only? Hmmm. So you are saying that everyone who applied to their Med or Dent School probably got an application link?

On the MMC FAQs page, the admissions office is just clarifying that the MHS program is by invitation only.

Can I apply to the Master of Health Science Program? Currently, no, Meharry's Master of Health Science Program for the Medical and Dental Schools is by invitation only. So what they are doing is clicking on Graduate Application and then changing the drop down menu to MHS which is just lying because they weren't invited to do that and should be applying to PA PhD OR MPH instead. I'm pretty sure the school knows who they invited as they are communicating with them and more than likely has their AMCAS OR AADSAS application as well.

*Just had a friend try it and that's exactly how they are doing it.

Yea that’s why admissions informed me that they would mainly use my AMCAS.

Saw someone talking about the class sizes earlier... just wanted to add this note:
Current MHS class is 49 people. (27 Med, 22 Dent). Administration expressed interest in increasing the MHS class for this upcoming year. Ideally they want half dent and half med, but sometimes they shift. It’s safe to say that they will be offering at least 50 spots.

Thank you so much for the info. Can you discuss the pace and rigor of the program? Are there any special tools/resources available for MHS students?
 
Hey y’all, does anyone know if the recommendation page is a brief questionnaire or is it somewhat extensive? I sent the link to one of my recommenders but he’s a pretty busy doctor & I just hope it’s nothing too time consuming or overwhelming. Has anyone’s recommenders said anything about it?

It’s like a brief rate the individual from 1-5 on these categories. Then followed by inputting the actual letter document. This is what I was told by my recommender tho

Hey do you have reqs from your AMCAS app on interfolio?? Just submit those. So much easier.
