I tried the free trial of U world and it was wonderful for that’s short period of time.. I’ve heard that claws are a waste of money two but sometimes i feel like they have little tips that’s ould be beneficial for the test . Have you ever taken any prep courses?

I took Kaplan lol... I didn’t finish....................
Kaplan is better for content...I don’t recommend their exams.

These 3rd party companies are teaching you what they think you should know but at the end of the day you should only be learning the tricks to succeed from AAMC material since you’re taking an AAMC exam.

It took me a while to figure this out but once I dedicated my time and effort on AAMC material, it started to click.

Yeah i need structure too, but aren’t those classes usually like two month or so long, how I’ll youbtake the MCAT again before the first week of August if you start in July? Sorry if I’m asking too many questions , just curious cause I’m in the same boat and thinking about doing the same. Thanks
I plan on doing a crash course extreme where I study like crazy. I've been studying independently and not seeing progress. Honestly I want to use their online material diagnostic to pinpoint my weaknesses quickly within the 2 months of he course (May-June) And have 1 month to fill my gaps of knowledge. I also plan to do extra U world questions on top of all the PR material. I plan to watch all the videos too. So basically just go ham for 3 months lol. But to do that most efficiently, for me I need a prep course that has all the material lined up conveniently. Plus PR has the 510+ guarantee course. I need that lol

Thanks . That make sense.

I took a PR class from Nov-Mar every weekend and it’s defintely a lot of work. I was also working 40 hour weeks and volunteering so you of have time I would do PR.

Yes, you have to resubmit your application. But acceptance is essentially guaranteed as long as you meet the GPA requirement, meet the MCAT/DAT requirement, and prove to be a reasonable and responsible student. Professionalism is a very important factor, and they factor it into the syllabus and the contract you sign with the school... The contract is an agreement between you and the school that you will be accepted into your program if you meet all the requirements that I just stated

So you basically sign a matriculation agreement to hold your spot and if you don't meet it you forfeit your spot

Guys I submitted unofficial transcripts via email and they told me they would need the official once accepted
I didn't know we had to submit unofficial transcripts via email. I submitted the application since Friday but i didn't email them an unofficial transcript. They already have the official ones from my AMCAS application though

I'm glad to hear it is doable. Pretty much for me I get out at 6 pm and do MCAT till 9 ish. And then Fri-Sun do MCAT like crazy lol. And mornings when I can before work I try to get it in too.

My classes don't start till May so I'm just trying to get ahead on the HW and videos. It's so much lol

Also TPR guarantee only works if you do all homework before and after and take exams. If you miss completing anything on time, you waive the guarantee. They make you sign a contract.

Good deal. I didn't know that I thought you just had to make sure to do everything. So I'll make sure to do it all before hand then.

Apparently that's okay. I just sent because the second email said so

Based on the current academic calendar, the semester ends the first week of December.

Now I think it’s definitely doable. I went from a 492 to a 505 in 6 weeks because I found the best resources and studied more effectively. I also think the courses they offer in the fall will be geared toward MCAT content and students can just focus on enhancing their test taking skills

^Just my opinion. Lol

Please share, how did you study the second time? I really need to do well this time please help

Did anyone get a completion e-mail or acknowledgement e-mail once they submitted? I have been waiting but nothing.

Ok. Mine is also yellow and says submitted. I am still waiting on one of my recommendation letter.

I studied 8 hours straight M-F and did “light review” a.k.a Anki flash cards on sundays for six weeks.

1. I went to bed everyday at 10pm and woke up at 6am
2. No alcohol
3. Uworld passages
4. Khan Academy passages
5. Anki flash cards everyday
6. Listened to Khan academy p/s videos. I converted them to mp3 and listened on my the train
7. Took 8 FL practice tests
(Next Step 1-4; AAMC Sample, AAMC FL 1-3)
8. Did a THOROUGH review of all questions, even the ones ops got correct.
9. Did the section bank twice.
10. Tracked all of my AAMC questions and found trends
12. I drew out each biochem mechanism and made sure I understood everything (check out drawittoknowit.com)

TBH that was the most depressing 6 weeks of my life lol. I didnt have a social life (and I live in NYC so imagine the temptations I had to fight). But I was tired of getting sub 500 so I just had to suck it up.

Before I even started, I made a list of what I did in the past to study and made sure I broke those habits. At the end of the day you have to find what works for you and most importantly what doesn’t work.

Hope this all makes sense. I’m half asleep. I can clarify in the morning.

I don’t know about number 2 and 7 but everything else I did for the exam I took last Friday Lolol . During my FLs I improved significantly from my previous attempts. Keep in my mind these losers (Mcat people) are progressing towards data interpretation more than content knowledge. So attack that, and also be able to understand limitations of experiments ( i don’t know why but just get the hand of this) . Lastly , for cars section your on your own.. I personally hated this section cause I literally saw no improvement is this section . (Screw cars).

Just so you know if we both do the program I'm claiming you as my study parter lol

Shoot can you be my study partner and roommate?

Lol I’m a light weight so I was not messing with alcohol. Hope it went well for you! I’m sure you got a 528

I took 8 practice tests to build up my stamina. If you’re good with taking long tests then no need. I just wanted to make it a routine to prepare for test day. Also, taking these tests exposed me to A LOT of material and I was able to practice.

I also agree that data interpretation is key so make sure you know the different experimental tests for biochem.

Lol I’m excited that I already have dedicated a dedicated study group. I’m just anxious now and cant wait to find out if I got in. Trying to plan my summer Instagram flex vacations
LooooL I know a city you can come to.

So your 8 hr days , were they a mix of reviewing content and practicing passages? Would you say focus more on passages then content ? Also did you purchase all of the section banks?

Since I was retaking it, I didn’t really focus on content review. I just did a bunch of practice problems and made Anki cards ! I stopped taking notes. Just make flash cards.

Week 1: did all the EK 1001 passages for chem, orgo, bio, and phys.
Week 2: TBR biochem passages, started uworld passages for P/S only
Week 3: all UWORLD + Khan Academy passages

Transitioned to ONLY AAMC material

Week 4: all AAMC QPACKS + first round of SB

Week 5: I think I took 2 AAMC FL practice tests and reviewed

Week 6: second round of SBs and took my last AAMC test

Week 7: test week + light Anki review

I also made sure I tracked my FL score breakdown (I attached it). As you can see, AAMC FL 3 was the most predictive so focus on that test!

And I didn’t purchase the SB, I got the FAP last cycle so it was free. I had to buy the bio, phys, and chem QBs though. AAMC 1 was the easiest and I think the MCAT exam is leaning more towards AAMC 3

Thanks for all the details. Very much apperciated.

I wish everyone the best on re-taking the MCAT. I think I’m going to wait if i get into the program only because I’m working full time and i want to truly dedicate all my attention as time for the MCAT. I made the mistake of trying to study and work at the same time and for me personally it didn’t work out.

Same! Working and MCAT did not mix well for me.

When I was studying for my MCAT the first time, I kind of just guessed what I needed to study and it was NOT as helpful as it could have been. But, this time, I’m using the “study schedule” website through SDN and it helped cater a schedule around what materials I had and the time frame I needed to be ready to take the test in. I feel much more persisted this fo around. Maybe that will help some of you guys too!

Good luck to all you taking the MCAT. I hope it goes great. I would be in the retake group as well. I was planning to take it in September on the last day as to not rush it. We'll see as I have been accepted into another master's program.
