Hey yall ! I started reading through all 13 pages of this thread a few days ago ! I just wanted to say that you all are awesome and the reason why I love my black ppl! ;-) So much inspiration, encourage and support here ! It would definitely be a blessing to be a apart of the next MHS class with yall! I can tell that everyone in here is about that grind life, but making sure that you dont get to the top alone. That's what its all about. I am a 2x HBCU grad, and I LOVE the family atmosphere that I get from them!

I can relate to a lot of people in this thread!... I need to re-take my MCAT, I applied to the program on April 1, received the duplicate emails as well, and have not heard back from anyone! I know someone who interviewed for this year's dental class back in March and has not received a rejection letter or invite to MHS (from my understanding, you do not have to re-interview if you have already done so.. you just get an acceptance). The students that I know that did the program in the past did have to interview for MHS, but did not have to re-interview for the medical program. So that part is really up in the air! I know a lot of things have changed so I am curious about if there is an interview or not!

I live in VA and am active in SMNA, we had our annual AMEC conference over the weekend and I was able to speak to a Meharry Admissions Manager there that stated that they were going to start processing apps etc this week, so hopefully we hear something soon ! I was hesitant about this program as I completed a Master's program last year, however this conditional acceptance is worth it. The admissions manager that I spoke to stated that we do not have to resubmit another AMCAS (which is love), and the contract will focus on either GPA or MCAT, however a 3.5 GPA has to be maintain anyway.

I know students who completed the program on both the medical and dental side and had nothing but awesome things to say about this program. They said they were VERY supported and everyone (who put in the work and did what they needed to do) went onto the next year's medical school class!

Ok this was waaayyy longer than expected ! Sorry for the mini-essay! Praying for everyone and their acceptances! If Meharry knows what it good for them they were let us on up in there ! haha ! Cant wait to meet everyone at orientation (speaking it into existence) ;-)
 
@mae_iv Did the person you spoke with at your conference provide any details on financial aid, or the fafsa? Anything like that?

I was also at AMEC and spoke with him. He also said the same things to me.

No he did not! I sent him an email on Monday of this week and we are suppose to be setting up a phone conference. He has not emailed me back yet, but I will send another email if I dont hear from him by next monday or attempt to give him a all.

What info would you like to know about financial aid? I was told it done just like a masters program so we would do the regular student loans. I have not filled out my fafsa (glad yall mentioned it). Feel free to let me @a-train your f-aid questions.

I will also ask him about interviews and see if I can get a date on when we should be hearing things!

First thanks so much for the detail info you provided us all with !! Also from Virginia I was one of the few who got an invite pretty late and was told the expedited review deadline is today so I just submitted last night! If you could possibly find out when we will know about decisions it will make my life a lot easier as I will know whether to study for the mcat this summer or not haha !! Also would like to know how helpful fafsa is with this program? Thanks and good luck! Ps. Love the positive vibes on this page ❤️

Yesss fellow VA! (I am from Atlanta, but currently repping VA since moving here for my Grad program! Not too much tho b/c Atlanta will always have my heart lol). And yes I got the email last weekend regarding the push back of the priority deadline ! I was mad that I received that email AFTER talking to the admissions manager or else I would have definitely ask him about that but hey, everyone who submits by today is in the PRIORITY group so whoop whoop! Im assuming their count was low on the 1st lol. They sent me the app a week before the April 1 deadline, so I am not sure when they started sending them out! Either way youre good so BLOOP!

I couldnt agree more ! The students in this thread have been A1 with all the insight and info ! God is good ! It has helped put me at peace to know im not the only one out here scratching my head! lol

Gotcha ! I wasnt sure if I got the first wave of invites or not! && Haha my sentiments exactly ! Which is why I was happy they didnt need me to resend xcripts etc and the LOR form was online and quick. Or else I woulda been giving them the str8 side eye! lol

I believe we were the first round when they gave us a week notice for April 1st lol
 
Now we all gone get in!! & if anyone says otherwise, classmates we gotta come with this type of ENERGYYYYYYYY! Lol

So do you guys think we’re all gonna receive a mass email from Meharry tomorrow?
 
I’m guessing I’m the only one who didn’t apply this cycle? Applied 2017 had forgotten about med school. Strange that I’m just now receiving the invite to apply after this year’s cycle which was my intent in applying specifically to Meharry in the first place to get an invite into this program.

Wow so the sending the MHS invite to those who didn’t even apply this past cycle.. hmmm that’s strange. But they probably thought you were a good candidate .
 
I wish there was some way for those who applied by the April 26 deadline to find out when our decisions will be released! Wish we could have found out by tomorrow too! Would honestly make it easier to figure out summer plans / mcat retakes etc!! Good luck to everyone for tomorrow doe!

Yes, very strange indeed. I’m thinking this should have been sent to me last year. I definitely was looking for it.
 
So who is gonna call them to verify that April 30th is the day?? lol.... because I have not heard that verbatim when I asked. I was told it could possibly be after the May 15th deadline/ we are not sure... but again idk what to believe because we all have spoke with different ppl...

I called last week and i spoke to a someone who said April 30th was still the plan date and if anything changed they would notify us by email. I hoping they are still sticking to that date.
 
Hey Guys!
Okay so I spoke to someone a little while ago from the admissions office and he told me that he wasn't sure if tomorrow we would get the decisions emails simply because the deadline for all other programs to commit to Meharry is May 6th. So he was saying that most likely the MHS program should hear back when that deadline has passed.

Im glad to be at work today or else I'd be checking every 10 minutes too. This is exhaustingggg
