So I called just to see what they would say and I don’t know if we’ll be hearing back today She told me they didn’t even have my letters when I sent the request to them to have them pulled from my AMCAS app.

What a WAWU. I doubt we’ll get it today but I’ll try and stay positive

So weird!! I just called (the same admissions number) to make sure as well since I asked them to pull my letters from my AMCAS, and the person on the phone said yes we automatically pull out your dental or med. app when we look at ur MHS program app and make a decision.. so you don't have to do anything else.

Also, hate to break this to you guys but when I asked him about when we will be hearing back, he said they are aiming for mid. May to give decisions to those who applied priority like myself 🙁 🙁 🙁

Was your deadline April 1st?

Also, that sucks. I just don’t comprehend how we keep getting so many different or indefinite answers to this decision question. ‍♀️

Yep, I was invited a week before April 1st, applied right away, and submitted everything before April 1st 🙁 When I told him that the email mentioned that if I applied before April 1st we would essentially get a reply before April 30th, this was the response I got from him :bang:

I also second this !! I just called around 2 pm and the admissions rep told me they were planning to release decisions on May the 15th!

The fact the planned decision day is also the day of the deadline. Smh.
Gotta love HBCUs. Lol. Welp. I'm going to roll with the punches and keep faith in God. Anything worth it is going to be challenging and test your patience.

I know I have posted about this before- but I still don't understand why dental students haven't been invited to apply to this program. It's really strange to me. You all applied and will find out May 15th, but if dental students haven't even gotten an invite how do we apply or get in. I'm starting to think they took this option out for the dental students since no one has gotten an invite.
 
For those who talked to admissions today, you all were told the May 15 release date was for the priority completion deadline?

Good question. I did see in the message they sent us inviting us to apply they only talked about admission to the school of medicine. I would hit up admissions and ask them and then let us know.

Or it could be they want to secure the seats for the pre med folks and then start on the pre dent folks? Idk that would not leave much time.

Yep, that's what he told me.. to be honest, he didn't seem very specific whether it is for everyone or specifically for priority, but I know that I was for sure specific in asking him about the priority decision day..

Ikr. I'm ready to make a Facebook group and start getting to know yall. The developments of today definitely are a let down. But it is what it is.

Not only that but most of us will be coming from out of state.. we need to figure travel and housing arrangements ASAP...
 
I lurked a little bit and posted once but I’m glad I have this group of brothers and sisters to vent with! 🤣Today was a little disappointing to say the least. But I think I’m more bothered that we didn’t even get a courtesy email. I know good and well everybody went home but I’m still waiting and refreshing my email like somethings going to change. I don’t appreciate being ghosted this way. ‍😒

LoooL I learned my lesson about long drives. I'm going to try to save up so I can ship my stuff.
 
@Kojo90 I’m here for starting a Facebook group as well. I was going to suggest the same thing once we started getting accepted, or a group me chat.

I’m stressing the same things as everybody else: somewhere to live, potential roommate, transporting my car, and then the 9 hour drive from where I am.

Most definitely. Soon enough we will all be able to get our stuff together.
 
Maybe if we were all given invites they saw potential in us? I think all of us have solid chances!! I am willing to wait as much as possible for their decision! Honestly this is basically my last chance at med school and I am willing to wait however much it takes for a decision!
