Michigan State c/o 2026 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
What is a webinar? I havent received anything besides an email for an informational session back in December :/

It’s pretty easy! Just log into the zoom link and just sit back and listen and ask questions if you have any. The only screens that were on were the speakers, so you couldn’t see any applicant. And I thought it was really cool they had asl interpreters there as well. And then remember the student panel is a few hours later in the day, that was also really laid back too.
That's really cool that they had ASL interpreters! I'm not Deaf myself but I've been involved in the ASL Club at my school, so that's a really neat thing to see. I hope they have them again at the webinar next week.

Can someone who went to the first virtual reception let me know when they got the zoom link for it? I'm a part of the 24th group and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything! Thanks!
I'm going to the one on Monday (1/24) and I just got my invitation link via email! I'm also going to a session on Friday and received that link as well.

Is it February yet? 😂😂 I’m getting impatiently nervous
Yessss I know😭 another school just fell through for me after my interview so I’m hoping for good news from Michigan. I can’t believe January is going sooooo slow.

At the DVM Q&A session on Friday, Diane Young from Office of Admissions said "late February" or "end of February" (I forget which phrasing, but 🙃)
Shhh I’ll still be checking my email daily. I also have a couple other schools who should be sending more info in February

Well, the second reception is tomorrow, so maybe they'll get back to us a little sooner than the end of February... 🙃

Me too! I'm also hoping to hear from a few others. But I'm also a little disappointed because I'm just so tired of waiting and waiting and waiting. But hopefully they'll surprise us and send out decisions earlier than they said! Better to tell us one date and be early than to tell us another and be late, right?

Is tomorrow's reception just for OOS applicants? I am in IS and haven't heard of a second one after attending the first one in December.

That’s what I was thinking - say later that way if it takes that long you don’t get a lot of emails and calls with questions!

Just OOS - we had two options for which date worked for us to attend!!

If I missed the reception (opps 🙁 work just got super busy right at 5) will they still send a recording of it to me? Or if anything, can somebody say what was said? Any updates on we think we`ll here back from them?

All they said was "we'll start sending out offers and waitlists in February." Nothing more specific than that.
I would assume they will send the summary out to everyone who said they would be there but not sure. Otherwise they went over curriculum, the clinical year, student life, financial stuff, the dual degree program, and answered questions.

Are you IS or OOS? I’m in state, so maybe OOS didn’t get an email yet!
I'm OOS and got an email stating my pre-req plan was good. If you didn't have outstanding pre-reqs, maybe that's why you didn't get an email.

Oof I did not get an email and I’m OOS. I submitted the google form a few weeks ago. Makes me nervous!!

I didn’t get one either, I got one a while ago saying all my pre reqs were good. Depends I think of you are taking pre reqs now still.
I didn’t get an email but, I believe I had all my pre reqs done. So, it’s that why we didn’t get it?

Some people are saying that during the webinar they said decisions will be released end of feb but I thought some said feb 10th. I was going to email them but, don’t wanna be annoying 🥲
Does anyone have an idea?

February 10th is when acceptance letters went out last year. Both this year and last year, the admissions folks had said that decisions will be sent out at the end of February. I'm hoping we hear next week, but it could very well be the following few weeks.

Can also confirm they said late February in the webinar, but interesting to hear they said the same thing last year and heard back earlier.

This might be a big week. Might hear from MSU, might hear from another school. And another the week after that. Big nerves. I just want to know already!

I’m in the same boat! February will either be a great month or the worse month😅😂

Just got the virutal reception feedback email and had a mini heart attack. "Oh an email notification? probably not MSU but - OH GOD MSU - oh it's just a summary of the reception"
I've had three schools do similar things this week now and it's just killing me.

We'll hear back "in the next month." really just losing hope for hearing this week I guess. we'll see!
