So I just called but Missy had someone else answer her calls. Apparently everything was mailed out. This includes acceptances, waitlist info and rejections. She couldn't remember where I was so I guess I'll have to wait for a letter.
 
For the SC students:

Missy also confirmed that they accept 7 students for the 5 contract spots with the intention that a few will decline.

Well I asked her about that (this is an assistant I was speaking with btw) and she said she didn't know anything about emails, just that all the letters have been mailed. She was very vague

Yeah, I am disappointed also. I am seriously at a loss for words, thoughts, feelings. ugh 😕

I'm just curious why some ppl got phone calls but now they are sending snail mail. I am very disappointed.
 
I would assume thats because she only calls acceptances. She has probably called all of the acceptances and the letters are the official acceptance mail, the waitlisters and the rejections.

I figured but was trying to maintain my positivity. My interview went so well......
 
So I know I'm either waitlisted or rejected, but I've decided I don't care because no matter what I'm still going to vet school. My vet school just won't have a rainbow auditorium.

Yeah, I didn't realize the chairs were matched until I was down at the front for awkward photograph time. I wish I had a picture of that auditorium looking up from the front because it was impressive.

No, but it says we can email Missy to find out our approximate position on the list. Haven't heard back yet.

Also, my letter says I am an "at-large alternate". To those who are waitlisted, does your letter say that specifically? I can't tell if that means I'm higher up on the list or if it's just because Mississippi State tends to go pretty far into their waitlist.

It means that youre just a plain OOSer not eligible for an instate or contract spot.

Has anyone heard back from Missy about what spot they are?I have not heard back from her. I am curious to know how many people are on the waitlist. It sounds like everyone who wasn't accepted was waitlisted.
 
They do have an extensive waitlist, but they definitely reject people too. Also, we had a veterinary conference at the school today and it was pretty busy - there were a ton of people here. So Missy might have been working on that.
 
Just a heads up, you can call for your position as well. They don't tell you how long the list is, just your relative position. Miss is usually pretty realistic with you about your chances. Also she told me that I should check in with her over time to see how things are moving along! Ugh. I want to go to MSU. 🙁
 
Waitlisted as well. I'll be calling on monday for my place! Hopefully I'm near the top :xf:
 
I know two people who were waitlisted, got off the waitlist, and go there now. I was waitlisted last year (for both OOS and contract), but I was accepted this year! Don't give up hope! 😀 I'm leaning towards Mississippi, so I hope to see some of you next year!!!
 
I called Missy today. She was able to tell me I am in the top quarter of the waitlist, but not how many are on it altogether. Staying hopeful!
 
I was at the top of the list, but I withdrew my name from it today. Hope that helps some of you out!

A few of my friends were accepted off the waitlist for 2016, 2015 and 2014. There's hope!

I forget what the percentage is for applicants accepted; they told us on the day we interviewed, but I remember that number being extremely low. So much so, had we been told prior to interviewing what our chance was for admittance, I would have cancelled my interview and wouldn't be there today.

It's a crap shoot, but someone has to fill the class. It might as well be you!!
 
I think Mississippi is where I'm headed. Who else has decided on this school? 🙂
 
I called up and bugged Missy some more about the waitlist. She said she had called some West Virginia folks for contract seats but didn't give me an exact date for when she would call at-large OOS students.

We have three contract schools, so, since people usually get accepted into more than one, our contract schools typically go through a few on each waitlist. I know one of the people who got the call, but I'm sure she'll be calling OOS students very soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :xf:
 
Has anyone on the OOS waitlist heard anything yet? I called missy last week and she said she has called 3 people so far...I'm hoping she continues to call more!

I've seen a few new OOS acceptances added to the Facebook group in the past week or so.
