Was the monster a shape shifter? In Japanese folklore, Kitsune is often a male fox that is a shape shifter and often takes the form of a woman (in order to steal saki, amongst other things), but I think Kitsune is generally thought to be nice. (Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox.)

Contingency Lynch MJ

Still fully willing to back a Skimble lynch if people also want to go that way because nothing I've seen today has changed the read I had on Genny.
 
Not sure contingencies count, but if we get an early night close, then I would just drop it then

my top suspects are MJ, Allie (but I need to look again harder, Snel, GenJil, WM, Stella, Coop, in that order
(yes I know that it's all the players but Haxx the confirmed villager, but they're listed in order and really anyone could be a wolf, right? but one must decide who is most likely, and least likely, so get off my ass for listing everyone)

I hope to do more work in the thread to do a bit better than just a feeling I take away from following the thread so far

dudes if someone was really keeping track of me, they could see I was on the thread for like a 24 hour stretch before I crashed. I slept like more than 12 hours I'm not sure, but I woke at 5:30 pm and got on thread

I'm still groggy and might sleep more

You could say I'm tired after that stretch of more than like 45 posts from... I don't know if it was yesterday, I think it was from before the last time I slept which I woke from today

I had Snowy on the sketchdar from early on with some wishy washy and weird logic, moreso than usual. Then the wafflefest which was just weird and hard to read as wolfy or villagey. If you have to ask yourself too hard if something is wolfy or not....

I think AM and LIS said they might go there as well for similar reasons IIRC (God tired me has some ISO work to do), and seeing as they're both dead villagers now, one a vig and one a confirmed villager that threatened to vote that way, and then were dead in short order, I'm looking harder at their suspicions.

And don't tell me Mel would be smarter than that. Snowy was still alive at that point, and Coffee a noob wolf. And even if it was Mel in the pack at that point, I wouldn't put it past any of them to kill those suspicious of them and then claim it was a wolf set up.

In fact, I think Coffee tried to posit that exact theory about LIS when she came on the radar before her lynch as a defense.
 
Okay yeah fair enough, Snowy's crap right before I replaced in would have me lynching me too, but the only thing I can offer on that is that Snowy was unexpectedly busy and clearly not keeping track of anything. With a 9:59 seer reveal and clearing two people I can see how the confusion/panic led to the ****show.

and I already gave her **** for all of it in my role PM.
 
My vote is likely going to MJ or Smel. I still have to look more closely at the rest of the roster and possibly readjust my reads since so far they've been pretty crap.

SMEL
I hate to vote a sub just because they're a sub, hence why I'm trying to look hard at Snowy's work so far, but also not let Mel's current play steer me too far into dismissing the Snowy play.

MJ
I don't know what MJ's play is usually like. I can't read whether or not his more vocal play now is "villager didn't give a crap early on until things got whittled down" vs "wolf hides in the crowd and then pops up when his quiet-ness is going to come under more fire." A bit of an egg to crack, if you will.

ALLIE
That Allie mentions that usually I read her well but this time having her as wolf I'm off... well, that doesn't push me to thinking I'm wrong, you see what I mean? Original Mel also had called her out way early in the game and wanted to pressure her. I don't think I've seen a lot more wolfy play since then. Since my reads have been bad, I'll have to reconsider her.

COOP
Coop may be a bit more sketch now in my view despite me having her as village most of this game. I'll go back and see what WM was saying, but I agree that the post-lynch commentary was sorta odd. Same thinking as above, with crappy reads, I need to reconsider my village core.

SKIMBLE
Not sure about gen/Skimble. Genny I mostly had as village, mainly because she was playing a bit more and with points that I found good. Will have to watch Skim's playing. Again, I have to reassess my village core.

GEN THOUGHTS
Mel 1 was village, and in usual village style, was right/wrong about a number of things, almost to an opposite stance. For example, Mel 1 read LIS and Kara as wolfy. Nevermind he was right on other things (BJ as village). So if he's village as Snel, then I wouldn't be surprised about more of the same. Oddly enough, that would read as bonus points to MJ or Allie or Skimble, if I read his reads as being wrong and that their opposite is true, ie MJ vote is wrong, calling out Allie early and as sketch is wrong, and suspicion on Skimble is wrong, and on Stella too. I don't know what he thinks of me, but if he has me as village then he got one right. The idea that Mel 1's reads could be true to the opposite makes sense to me since that's been my play so far. Hence why I'm reassessing my village core despite following my MJ and Smel suspicions. Then again, I was right about AM. So maybe my village reads aren't too bad but my wolf reads are crap? But then again, maybe that's giving me too much credit, I mean, going by statistics alone, that would be true anyway. Convoluted thinking again? Well, do we expect anything less from me?

STELLA
I can see why Stella would seem an egg to crack, but she's actually come up to me as village, and not just cuz we're friends or she's the noobiest noob that ever noobed. I think Stella's thinking on Coffee was actually pretty decent, she seemed the only one who really picked up on how Coffee's little theory about being "set up" by wolves blocking LIS and killing him seemed a bit convenient, and that following through on LIS the vig's thinking might be worth doing. Yes, others voted Coffee but the point from her was surprisingly original to the thread and on-point. It didn't sound like wolf pack counseling to me, neither did her late vote. The late posting and voting from her I can't take as proof of any affiliation since that is also village Stella and deadline isn't really that late on PST.

The fact that Coffee was wolf, if Stella is wolf, than the last person that could be wolf would be a vet. I could see any of the players remaining being that vet wolf. Question is, would that vet wolf let these 2 noobs run this wildly nooby? Possibly, I could see MJ or Snel doing that, which makes their flipping that much more informative if you ask me. Not so much Coop or Allie or GenSki or but you never know. I'm betting that that we have 2 vet wolves among Coop, Allie, GenSki, Smel, MJ. The question is who. Hence why I'm willing to look for a vet wolf today and tabling Stella for today.

A bit odd that I had more to write on Stella than anyone :laugh:
Still, we know from all this that we are looking for at one vet wolf for sure. So that's where I want to start.

For a minute when I was catching up I forgot where I was and briefly thought this was a weird Revenge of the Nerds joke. Has anyone on here seen Revenge of the Nerds? Is that out of people's age range?

I thought the same thing. Then realized I subbed in for Genny, so she must be referring to me. The combined names are confusing enough as it is, but that one is particularly confusing.

Sorry, I went with "GenJil" at first cuz I liked the sound/look. But them I wanted to show respect to the change. I liked "GenSki" better than "GenSkim" which I knew would be more clear.

"Skenny?" "Gimble?" I don't know. Sorry if it was confusing guys.

I'm currently writing a treatise on the science behind the Doctor's transition from Time Lord to Lady, I hope after I will have it in me to write a post by post analysis and create a whole new page unto myself.

I had agreed with Mel 1's observation about Kara throwing shade on AM and YK differentially at that point, so I did raise an eyebrow here, that while maybe Mel 1 was throwing shade (but wasn't wolf at the end of the day) that maybe this was Coop doing the same.

I read it as more Mel wolf vs Coop villag, or v vs v, but I'm reassessing like I said.

Coopah grilling BJ for her reasons on the Stella vote read as very village to me. The way Ally defended BJ did not. This is where my Allie suspicion started, and was gestated by Mel 1's calling her out to talk more. Not much to go on, admittedly. Let's continue.

Some people read this as genny throwing shade on Coop for going after BJ for her reasons for her Stella vote. I read it as a good point, however. I'm not sure it affected my view of Coop as much as it struck me as village.

Going back, this is similar to genny's reasoning, and actually reads as village to me from Ally.

This is the sorta wish wash that make me feel Snowy is wolfy. Just pings my radar. Granted this is D1 reasoning.
