Hey just an update, I was also waiting for Columbia's financial aid just to see before i put my final deposit on UCLA but I didn't get an email but the financial aid portal updated and as expected, my only aid was a loan offer of 33k. I did apply with 3.8 so i don't know why that's the only offer but eh I'll be declining my admission and hope anyone waiting on the waitlist for Columbia is able to go.. but just wanted to share that i finally got a portal update

Hi all! I've been following this forum for a while, and just wanted to contribute myself a bit. Still waiting on UCLA and UC Irvine, and not sure if I should email them or not? Don't want to bug them, but I kind of need their answers so I can decide where I'm going??? Anyone else waiting on these schools?

Columbia is so stingy, it hurts.

ok everyone after weeks of anticipation i was waitlisted at Yale. if anyone has tips or insight into how the waitlist process works please let me know. waitlisted at BU as well the universe is teaching me how to be patient i guess 😫

Sorry to hear that it wasn't the outcome you had initially wanted. I really think you'll get in somewhere 🙂

I only got 33k in loans from Columbia with a 3.75 gpa. No need-based and I’m low income. It hurts x10000
Apparently the merit awards don’t show up in the financial aid portal from what someone said on the GroupMe

I got into OHSU and Mt Sinai so I think I will commit to one and see what happens w the waitlist later. Biggest issue is like losing a deposit though. And if I get into Yale or BU later in the summer it would not end up working out, idk how I would move across the country on such short notice :/

UAB online Epi program vs. USF online Epi program. Anyone know which is the better program? I would appreciate any advice if you heard anything about these schools. Thanks.

Congrats! I am still waiting on my appeal from them! They told me by Sunday night. Did you hear by email? I just called the financial aid office, and they said something about sending emails through a GW email account that I don't have, I think because I haven't put down my deposit. I am nervous I missed an email or something! Did you appeal? Or this is your first award?
Thanks! Yes it was by email from [email protected] and this is my first award. Please post how your appeal goes! I am considering appealing also.

I appealed for more aid from Dartmouth, but they didn't respond and I have to accept/decline my offer by Monday, March 15.
I'm not sure what to do since I'm still waiting for other schools (Harvard, Brown, Columbia). Anyone applied by Dec 1st deadline and was accepted, but haven't made their decision yet? Did you ask for an extension for the offer decision deadline?

^clarification: I asked for an extension in February and they gave me two weeks, which will be on March 15th. Help :/

For UCLA, who did you email? I’m in the same boat and after weeks of debating I finally emailed someone a few days ago but still haven’t gotten a response 😭 not sure what to make of it.

did you get an email.? A lot of people do not believe this is the merit scholarship update

Never posted this but sharing so next years applicants can get a feel for where they stand stats/experience wise.
Also a note, I don't know if anyone else agrees but I think SOPs play a huge role in admissions decisions, so future applicants if you're not confident in your stats, just knock it out of the park with your SOP.

Hello everyone! I am a looong time lurker and was wondering if anyone who applied to UC Davis for the general deadline has received a decision for the application yet?

Also since it doesn't seem like I'll qualify for financial aid for Columbia, I've chosen to decline admission for Columbia (Epi) (as well as UW Epi). Hopefully, this helps with the waitlist because all of you are amazing & so deserving! I'm honored to be surrounded by such compassionate & passionate people within this field 😊

UC Davis (01/15 sent for review 02/03), still waiting on decision

So I only applied to UC Davis because I am originally from the Sacramento area and I know this is where I want to end up working. Davis knows public health issues in Sacramento the best. I love my city and I want to use the knowledge and skills I foster from my MPH to better my community. Just wanted to add why choosing my local university is important to me in case this advice helps any future applicants.

Hi! I applied by the priority deadline and heard back one week ago. Maybe that will help gauge your timeline for UCD’s general deadline decisions.

I applied for the Dec. 1 deadline and got my decision

Thanks for your reply! I did see your post last week. I was just getting weary because I was afraid general deadline applicants like myself have been notified of their acceptance.. here’s to waiting

I wanted to ask this so I am not mistaken and look like a complete fool but would be so grateful and in disbelief if true.

I have a Harvard Chan Central Grant for 45k for the upcoming year in my financial aid offer. This is not some loan and is in fact a 45k scholarship????

Congrats!!! Grants are not needed to be repaid. It is just one source from where the school decided to provide you aid.

Yes! I’m wishing us luck! I emailed them today and asked when we should be hearing back so I’ll let you know if someone replies

Is there anyone else here who has not gotten any-or very insignificant- aid from the schools they’ve been accepted to and plan on paying for school with only loans?

Very proud of all of you who are getting amazing merit aid or scholarships, but I’m looking for people in a similar spot to me. I’m starting to freak out as I’m crunching the numbers here 😂

me. I'll pretty much take out 110k in loans for yale.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some input on my options. I’m currently debating between GWU and BU for health policy. I know GWU’s location is hard to beat for policy, but I recently found out that the tuition is substantially higher than I initially thought. With the 8k I was offered, my tuition would probably end up being around 77k. Meanwhile, BU offered me a 30% tuition scholarship, which brings my tuition to just under 60k. There’s other pros and cons for each school for me personally, but I was wondering if the higher tuition at GWU would be worth it for job prospects? I was set on GWU because I didn’t think I could get into BU, but now that I know how expensive it is I’m reconsidering. Is the difference in ranking important? Any info or opinions are appreciated!!

Hello everyone,

Got into my too 3 MPH nutrition programs at Hopkins, Berkeley, and Harvard.

Also got into Yale, Columbia, and UCLA but those aren’t focused in what I’m interested in like nutrition.

Anyone currently debating between these programs? Happy to connect so we can share our thoughts.

Did anyone not get a scholarship from Yale after the 10 day window? I believe I've seen scholarships ranging from $20,000 - $60,000, but I haven't seen more or less than that so far

me getting freaked out. I keep hoping i’ll get some fellowship position so I can defer but i’m trying to hustle and apply for zero interest loans so I can try to get the first year covered without taking private loans. Alot of outside scholarships dont consider you until you are a year in.
