MPH / MSPH 2021: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats on committing! Now all the fun (and stressful and expensive) parts begin. If nothing else, at lease the whole Columbia debacle gave you some clarity. Congrats again :soexcited:
Thank you! When I first posted on this thread I thought I wouldn't get into any school. But I did, and now I finally decided to commit after the whole glitch issue. NYU is a dream school for many people so it doesn't really matter how high their PH program is ranked. I'm sure employers wont care tbh.

I already joined a NYU sublet group for housing in the fall so now I just need to start saving money up to help offset costs.

Okay did anyone’s personal link have Spring 2021 info on it? I feel like I’m tweaking lol, so nervous!

I hope these Columbia acceptances are real!!! I remember when I got my acceptance letter last year and the right side of the page was chopped off LOL

Also got into BU looking at my portal (went to review on 1/26)!! Still haven't received the email though - will any potential financial info be there? I don't see it anywhere on my landing page.
My guess is no but hang tight I think it says it in the email from past ones I’ve seen!

For people who are hearing back from BU on their portals today, when did your apps go under review? I'm debating emailing them again for an update.
Mine was completed and verified 10/11, but I had to email them to push it into review on 1/20

As people are committing to their best choice and beginning to slowly MIA in this forum, it would be my pleasure staying connected professionally. Please PM me for LinkedIn request, if you like.

It doesn't matter which school you land, the world is a small place, and we need each other.

Mine from this year is chopped off too! Haha! I was accepted 1/20 though!
While I feel that Columbia is still a great institution to pursue higher education, it's these little things that make you wonder what in the world are they thinking. Pre-COVID, when I received invitations to attend admitted student receptions in SF and NYC, they spelled themselves as "Coumbia."

???

For those you are waiting for HSPH decision. Below is the email I just got.

I logged in normally. Didn’t change the url or anything. Mine was still friggin the same page as last night...visuals look crooked, no names on the “congrats” or acceptance letter...idk what’s going on. Anyone else? Surprised not to see an email from them clarifying the situation...
This is what I’m experiencing too.. for HPM I had my interview already and when I login through the regular portal it takes me to the accepted students page but no program info no option to pay the commitment fee or whatever that some people have

so got no merit based scholarship from GWU - I'm a bit surprised and now sad ):. Should I call them and ask why? or if they have an appeals process - I was offered 35% at BU so idk if I can leverage that
Did GW email you? I'm expecting no money from them too, I've heard that they are classically very stingy with giving out scholarships : ( that's so awesome that you got 35% at BU though!!!!

Hi yes they did - it was like an official email not a response back to me - yeah I have no idea how much they give i have a feeling they cut off based on GPA this year - just sucked bc I had a letter from someone in DC kind of high up idk? - but idk if its holistic tbh. yeah happy about BU but i don't want to live in boston bc i got family reaaaaaal close lmao

As everyone is making their decisions, I'm trying to decide between BU (still waiting on the formal email with scholarships) and JHU MPH part-time/online. Both programs are fantastic and I'm hoping to do a mix of online classes and school part-time while doing research at my current job at a big hospital in Boston full-time. BU is convenient solely due to location and possibly financial aid wise, but JHU is THE top dream program. My plan if committed to JHU was to do the first year or so completing my core classes online part time while working in Boston (lol I psychotically mapped out which classes I could take online vs on campus) and then move to Baltimore to finish the rest of my degree in person, which I'm not sure is insane or not. I'm planning on applying to medical school later and the JHU name and connections would really help in combination with my great hospital job not going to lie. If anyone has any advice on how they've been making their decisions or how I can get closer to a decision please help haha I've been making pro-con lists all day trying to figure it out haha
