MPH / MSPH 2021: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Didn't they originally say we would have a decision by March 1? So much for that. That's why I have been too scared to email lol, I don't want to hear the same
that was my exact thought... I felt like replying to them, and being like "didn't y'all say march 1st when you FAKE accepted me" -____- ugh lmao

So it is around the same time health policy got theirs. I probably didn't get in then, big sad.
I wouldn't get discouraged yet. Also, Harvard has the big name, but I believe everyone should do a deep-dive on the curriculum/program to make sure it fits a specific career trajectory. I feel like ensuring that the program has what you need is more important than the brand or prestige. Just my two cents! I am sure you have gotten into some great programs.

Grats!!! You do have GPA 3.9 though, that's shoo-in for Harvard....just saying....

duh GIF
I'd like to think it was more than my GPA, but hey, it certainly didn't hurt.

Hi all, first time posting after following along for a bit. I just got into Harvard 65 Health & Social Behavior (got the email at 10:41 am ET). Would really love to connect with other people considering the program!!

I have a question for those of you that got aid/scholarships from Emory. Are you able to access this info in your OPUS account too? I remember reading somewhere that they update the OPUS account but I want to verify. If someone could check that would be awesome! 🙂

So scared to open the admissions portal for Harvard. Does it say whether or not we were accepted in the email or do we have to wait in suspense as the portal loads to figure it out?

I think most likely portal gets updated first, and then the system sends out an email, which includes a time-lag. So if you're anxiously waiting and don't want to be sucked into the portal (no pun intended) haha just wait for the email

oh gosh. I'm starting to freak out about Harvard 65 HBS. Think there will be more acceptances??
i wonder if people who got into Epi or Global Health (since I saw a bunch last week) all found out their acceptances last Thursday 2/18 or if any of them were accepted on Friday 2/19 or sometime this week.

Not showing up in my account yet! OPUS is pretty blank still.

Try looking through the reported results from Grad Cafe here. Some entries aren't helpful since people didn't say if they were 45 or 65...but you can see some other decisions reported by folks who aren't on here!

I don't see any MPH decisions on the gradcafe forum for 2021. The ones that come up are previous years. Am I doin sontin wrong?

I got a merit scholarship, but don't see it in my OPUS. still waiting for the financial aid package with loans/grant/work-study

I usually don't update it myself and use it mostly as a side resource.

I should use the template that everyone is using here but am trying to post in between work meetings on Zoom.

UGPA: 3.75
Publications: 2 underway
Research: Mostly CBPR
GRE: None
Applied: Brown, Harvard, Yale (all submitted around 12/1)
Accept: Brown (+$), Harvard (just heard waiting for financial aid)

Emory just sent another invitation to one of their 5 million sessions. This time it was for a first generation student funding webinar for March 3... ”We will cover reading your financial aid award, determining total cost of attendance, loans and borrowing.” Could this mean we’ll know about aid by then 🤔
The last financial aid info session they had, they started sending merit scholarships the day after.

Harvard Chan Admissions has an open office hours Friday, February 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET) if you wanted to get direct answers. Think I may give it a shot.
If you ask about the SM80, please post the answer they give here 🙂

Oh shoot, you're right. My eyes just went directly to the decision details and I didn't notice the years on them 🤐 I guess this forum is more helpful then.

When did you applied for Harvard and JHU? I applied to Harvard, JHU and Columbia on 11/30. I was accepted by Columbia on 1/20 and JHU on 2/15. Still waiting for Harvard. Same program as yours.
I applied the same time as you! Haven’t heard from JHU yet though.

Anyone else still waiting on news from JHU? I applied to the one year full time MPH on 30/11 and no news yet.
I just emailed JHU and I was told applications take 8-10 weeks - I had my application complete on 12/9. Hoping to hear soon!
I applied back on 12/21, but then again this was for the Hybrid/Part-Time MPH that starts in November so who knows if they've even started sending out decisions for that. But yeah I'm reaching the 10 week mark, I was gonna email them if I don't hear anything next week.

Thank you for checking everyone! I find it so weird that they are telling us to check the portal but it's not even being updated properly. I got accepted to Emory on 1/20 and still no word from financial aid smhhhh 🙄

This is an off the cuff impression, but I think the portal will have the total financial aid offer. So OPUS doesn't show just merit, because it is likely for all of Emory, not just Rollins. I believe that merit notifications will all come via email. When OPUS updates, that will probably have all the aid offered from Emory's financial aid office, including federal loans, need-based grants, federal work study, etc.
