Do I enter every single class that appears on my transcript, or just the classes that fufill prereq requirements?
Every single class is entered in the Coursework section.

While going through my transcript I had something I was thinking as labeling as a retake, but wanted to see what you guys thought. As of now, I have not marked it as a repeat.

I have a 5 unit "Pre-Calculus" course for which I received an F. I later have a 3 unit "College Algebra" course, for which I received an A. I compared the syllabi, and even though they are different, they are almost exactly the same.

The Pre-Calculus course is "MATH 220" and the College Algebra course is "MATH 215". They fill the same purpose, as being the class you take before Calculus, but the Pre-Calculus course is from the accelerated track.

Should I mark them as a retake? My concern is that the newer course is less units and not the exact same title. I also have 8 units of Calculus. 😏

What I've seen posted on these boards in the past is that any retake has to be of equal or greater credit hours. There are stories of people taking 3 quarter classes in hopes of replacing 2 semesters and AACOMAS denied the replacement because despite the fact that it was one year of instruction vs one year of instruction the individual classes were fewer hours.

When can we officially submit our primary and get it verified? is that anytime or is that early june something?

For something like shadowing, what have you guys been putting regards to Type of Recognition: Compensated, Academic Credit, or Volunteer?

You can submit it right now if you're ready, it'll be verified by mid June and that's when schools will start looking at it

Volunteer, unless you were paid or got academic credit. Not very many choices, as you cannot leave it blank.

My GPAs has been boosted into orbit with being able to include paramedic course work! Also do I enter AP course work upom transcript finalization? I know this question was probably asked, I'll edit if I find it.

Add the courses with the transcript they appear on. Then when you review it, you can select which courses were AP credit.

You can repeat the review. No need to make sure it is perfect before you do it. So you can see what it asks you to check off.

So what about professional certifications and licenses? Experiences or awards? Aacom faq isn't very detailed. Suppose I ought to make a list and call.

For Achievement section should you put in description monetary amounts that went along with scholarships, grants or awards?

hi guys. What subject would I put a required "exploring general studies" course I had to take my freshman year?

Also...for a military leadership lab I had to take every semester through ROTC.....what can I put for the grade portion since it was zero credit hours technically

Do we receive an email or something when we know our transcripts and MCAT scores have been received? I sent my MCAT in a few days ago and nothing but silence. Waiting on transcripts too.

Bump / Customer service isn't open till Mon -_-

What are you trying to put in? Paramedic license? ACLS? PALS?

I personally am leaving all of those things out. The AHA courses are lackluster and it is evident that I am a paramedic based on my experience list. I don't believe that there is a really a spot for those things on the application. If you find out otherwise, please let me know.

Agreed, I don't think there's a spot unless you took these classes at a college

In Achievements, do they only want you to enter presentations that were based on published or experimental research?

I had a similar problem. My university required that we registered for a class that was 0 hours with no grade just to reserve a time slot to take exams. I emailed AACOMAS and they said to put 0 for credit hours and NG for no grade.

Idk I put down poster presentations I either presented or am an author on whether it was a state or national convention or my university research symposium

Will do.

Thanks

I'm assuming class presentations of my intensely researched papers don't count..lol...

Can we copy and paste our personal statements from a program like Microsoft word directly into our application? It let me do it, but I have heard that you cannot do this for syntax errors or something like that??? Idk if this applies anymore with the new aacomas...

Apologies if any of this was asked before, but regarding the coursework / transcript details ...

1. What subject would research fall into if I also got credits for it? It was on fruit-fly embryos, and specifically on my transcript it says BIOL **** Independent Study.
Should I just place it in the biology subject, or is there a better alternative?

2. Similar to above, there's another class that I attended call university scholarship. All freshies had to take it. Basically was like an intro to college class.
For now I put it in special topics subject ... or should I change it?

Is everyone choosing the highest grades for prereqs?
For exmaple I got A- in both gen bios but A+ in genetics and zoology.
I dont understand this whole prereq option

The schools have a little blurb at the top when you're picking classes, some of them specifically ask for the intro series classes, some say that higher level course work can replace, and some just want anything that fits into the category. Unless it asked for a specific class I put my highest grades.

Wooo. Turns out it's "an additional 6 credits of upper level bio [300+]"

I feel so stupid!
1) At what stage do we enter "repeat 01" "last repeat"
Is that after you select the repeats when reviewing the transcript or before? Am I putting it in the class name?

2) I took an extra semester to graduate. Could I mark three semesters as freshmen year, and do two semesters for soph, jun, sen, or will I get in trouble for that??

Thanks

After you enter all your courses and do the transcript review.

Just follow their guidelines of 0 - 30 units freshman, 31 - 60 units sophomore, 61 - 90 units junior, and 91 - degree senior.

You designate repeats after you've finished entering all transcripts there is an option to verify.

I'm not sure about the second question but I feel like you can keep the extra semester as senior year?

I was wondering how we can check if our transcripts were received if we have not yet submitted to programs? In the guidebook, it says to look under program status but I have not submitted school yet so in my program status, it doesn't say anything.

You cannot check online - though I suppose you could call.

@juice31

Do you mean like, in your club, you were the VP?

I think you could describe your role in the description, as well as refer to it in your title. They don't discretely ask for leadership experience, so I chose to integrate it as such.

So you could choose "EC", University of X, Title = VP, then in your description, talk about your responsibilities as VP.

Great! Thats all that I needed to know. I always thought there was a specific section for leadership in years past applications. Good to know.

I am new to this also, but I am pretty sure that is the best way to do it.

This application is new to everyone!

I am ready for my finals to be over so I can finish up a couple of things before I submit. 1) Personal statement (if I do not bore myself to death writing it) ; 2) Shadow/Volunteer; 3) Celebrate

I am taking a prerequisite class post bac this spring and the grades won't be out til early June. If I submit my application now and list this prereq as in progress, will AACOMAS wait for the transcript for this post back class in June to start verifying or it will can start verifying before, since I list this class as in progress when I submit?

In progress courses are not verified.

Therefore the course will not be used in your GPA, but you can of course add it during the update periods.

Trying to enter 4 credits of AP credit that I got, but there is no grade for it on my official transcript. What should I enter in the "grade" part of the application? Should I just put "none"

What does your transcript say? It's just a blank space?

Mine says CR, which means credit.
