That bloody "teachers v physicians" thread is very insulting. Those two people convinced that teachers don't work hard and make sacrifices are so ignorant I'm starting to thing they might be trolls.

My strategy on ridiculous threads like that: pop in early and say something funny and then peace out and don't return... or else you'll go all ... +pissed+

I wish I could pitch in a hr derby. That'd be fun. If I tried to hit, I'd be popping out to shallow left-field when I do make contact.

No way! He cheated the game and broke records he never should have as a result, then he lied.
I wasn't a fan of his growing up. He was the quintessential sports villain and *******. But I don't view Cooperstown as a sacred place in terms of ppl's character. (Look at Ty Cobb and others). I look at it as a museum. And museums often have various sides of historical events on display. I grew up watching baseball during the steroid era. I was very young, but I remember the "bash brothers" on the Oakland A's. One of my fondest Yankee stadium memories was watching Rivera strike out McGwire to save a game (in '96). I don't believe that you can just completely wipe out an era of baseball. You can apply asterisks (in my mind Aaron is still the HR King) and put some of these players in their own section. You can even raise the standards (ie 650 hrs gets you consideration vs 500). But for generations, baseball players have been doing what they can to get an edge. Gaylord Perry is in the HOF and he doctored baseballs throughout his career. I'm pretty sure Willie Mays and others used stimulants. Who's to say that none of those players would have used PED's. I remember Darryl Strawberry once saying that he would have used them given his personality.

I'm definitely anti-PED's. But I remember the summer of '98 when a writer was vilified for questioning what McGwire was using.

And Bonds was a HOFer clean. He could have retired in '98 and would have gotten in on his 1st ballot. But he decided to show everyone what a star player like himself can do on 'roids. And although I wish he would have finished clean, he did demonstrate (more than anyone) how enhancement makes the game ridiculous. And baseball needed that.

Edit: And of course he wanted to get paid.

So... I don't want to start a politics war, but it's F'up what's going in Gaza.
Edit: I took off the link to a Vice video about Gaza.

I grew up in the steroid era too, and I was very disappointed, not only as a cardinals fan but as a baseball fan, that Mark McGuire had been juicing. The sad thing is he was hitting 50 homers a year before roids- just look at his rookie season stats, but he wanted to hit 70. You're right about Cooperstown not being a place for good people, just good players ie. Ty Cobb. You're also right about the Gaylord Perry doctoring balls. I was also sad to hear about that, Nd I'm sure he wasn't the only one. I've never heard of Mays using stimulants, and I hope it's not true. I think we should keep Cooperstown as "clean as possible though and not allow juicers in.

Edit: I don't think it was the shoes that were causing McGuire to hit the homers.

I just want to say that the media, particularly the liberal media, manipulates the story so it seems Israel is the antagonist and the Arabs are innocent. Israel's rockets are just in retaliation. I just feel bad for Israel because they're surrounded by lunatics who hate them and want to whipe them off the face of the Earth.

*sigh* Yeah, I hear Israel hates them more well vise versa. Israel looks like the bully on this because they have the more powerful weapons, but it's true that Israel is retaliating to Hamas attacks. In addition, it is F'up that Israel keeps targeting areas where a lot kids have died and they have even thrown rockets to nearby hotels where the press is staying at. Vice is legit, though. The videos they have they actually have a reporter being there side by side with the people.

Hamas targets schools and homes- that's just not publicized. Israel was not, and won't harm any other countries for no reason like the Arabs. They just hate Israel, and Israel will just have to keep kicking their a$$ until they stop. Israel says, the Arabs can afford to lose as many wars as they want, however Israel can't afford to lose any wars. That statement couldn't be any more truthful. If Israel loses a war, that's the end of Israel. As Americans, we should support Israel- They are our greatest ally.

Anybody play Clash of Clans? 🙂
LOL. Screw clash of clans. I am never one to even play games on my phone/ipad, but I was so addicted to it last summer than I went so far as buying way too many gems to make sure I was doing better than my friends who played it. I also skipped out of a family wedding like 3 times to get back to the hotel room and check on my "base" or whatever they call it.

Wow! I'm not addicted to it, though. It's a miracle I'm not. I put my school and life first.

Just had my first shadowing experience. About bloody time! In the OR for a tubal ligation. Very cool! Going back on Friday and maybe even this afternoon.

Da Vinci robot in the OR?
Transumbilical laparoscopy. He put a second trocar in an incision about 10 cm down and to the left of the first so he could introduce a clip applicator. He didn't initially plan on that because he thought he had a scope with a tool port but it turned out he didn't. About 45 minutes from prep to recovery.

I tried and no luck. lol
Lol. Don't know if we're referring to the same thing, but Stallone could have at least included 2-3 more ladies (to balance things out a little more). He could have reached out to Brigitte Nielsen! Although, that would have been an awkward experience on the set.

Oh. I thought you meant like the old people's pic had more females than the pic of the Expandables where it's just a whole bunch of old actors.
(BTW I count the original Expandable members as older actors.)

Oh some of them are definitely old. That's why I felt your pic was appropriate. Although like I said, Stallone could have included some of his female peers from back in the day.

Nope. And who's that dude in your avatar? I feel I saw him in one of those shake commercials...
Not the Shake Weight commercials, right? He is currently 3x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath "The Gift".
