well, since i've said buh-bye to columbia, time for some new allegiances. 😀 who's waiting for vandy and any news recently?

Nada. I emailed Pat Sagen today; if I hear anything exciting I'll let you know. Supposedly last year, they sent out another letter for a "short waitlist". I haven't heard anything....

I'm not too optimistic, and now I'm pretty jaded about Pitt after watching those waitlists roll out. Anyone hear anything about CWRU or Emory? 😉 (hijacks thread for personal use)

lol. i actually emailed pitt today to see if they'll squeal anything about my chances. hopefully i'll get some respone. i just hate the fact that they've ranked aplicants but don't give the details. just annoying.

I called the Vandy admissions office a couple days ago and they said they will be cutting the waitlist in half some time soon (I forget when), with one half being rejected. I read somewhere that 40% of the people on the new waitlist are generally accepted.

I dunno if this has been supplanted as the "official" Vandy list by the Vandy/Pitt/Emory/CWRU monster list - but I thought that I might cross post here (sorry!) just to see what people know about the "short list."

Somebody previously wrote that it's ~40% to get in.

-Any idea how it breaks down over time (x% this month, y% next month)?

-When do they start classes?

-How long do they give you to decide?

-How "short" is short?

-Will they tell you where you're @ on the "short" list?

Any help would be very gratefully appreciated!!

wow...i've probably posted less than 5 times this past two weeks....guess vacation is a good time to get away from the sdn addiction..hehe.

i remember reading somewhere that vandy starts about a week prior to 8/18 (which is when einstein starts..hehe).
