Hello, I got mine first as an email! It just says to check your portal, and I know other people have checked portal for a decision before receiving an email.

I didn’t receive an email, i checked my portal. PM me with any questions or for stats! I am a first time traditional OOS applicant. I hope everyone has good luck this cycle!!!

OOS acceptance 🥹 and will convert to WICHE if approved

Can I ask how you can convert to WICHE? Do you already have to live in a WICHE state? I’m from Minnesota so definitely not WICHE.

I live in a WICHE state! You have to be a resident of a state with a WICHE PSEP program. I applied to schools as a WICHE student. I believe the states rank their own WICHE candidates and somehow that goes into who receives WICHE at the schools. But I'm the only WICHE candidate in my state 😅

I received OOS offers from WSU and OSU, and both offers said if I was approved by WICHE then I could convert to WICHE.

It's a bit confusing but such an amazing program!

I just heard that decisions were sent out, so I wanted to take a moment to congratulate those who were accepted or waitlisted! For those who were not selected, please remember that this decision does not define your worth. The vet school admissions process is incredibly competitive, and with OSU’s capped class size of 96 students, it’s even more cutthroat. You’re all incredibly intelligent and capable, and while it may be difficult to see right now, everything happens for a reason. I know firsthand how tough it can be, but trust me, this is part of your journey, and you’ll end up where you’re meant to be.

For those accepted or waitlisted, congratulations again! OSU is a wonderful school, and as a member of the Class of 2028 Student Council, I’m excited to help make your transition into vet school as amazing as possible!

I know the waitlist is a hot topic, so I’ll share that it did move quite a bit last year for OOS applicants—about 25 waitlisted students received offers from what I remember. That said, this varies quite a bit from year to year and you may not hear anything until March, so try not to stress for now. Regardless of the outcome, you’re all highly qualified applicants, and things will work out as they should. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I’m here to help!

Thank you Renee ❤️ This definitely eased some of my worries about the OOS waitlist. Fingers crossed we see a good amount of movement!

Do any Oregon folk have any information on what Corvallis is like? It seems like a nice town and with a lot of access to the outdoors + the coast is so close! I've never been to anywhere near the west coast before though so if anyone has any suggestions for fun stuff or tips on best places to look for housing 👀 I would be all ears

Seconding this! I am an east coaster who has been to California once, that’s the extent of my west coast experience.

I am SO EXCITED about this acceptance! But my knowledge of the Pacific Northwest is sadly… um, Twilight. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you're looking to get in touch with current students to learn more about Corvallis and living here, I would recommend getting in contact with the student ambassadors! They range from 2nd to 4th year students and are open to answering questions about whatever!

Hi everyone and sorry for being super late to this party!
I'm a non-traditional applicant from BC, Canada and got my acceptance letter on Dec 30th!😺
Would be happy to meet my classmates in September!
Also, to those who got rejected, please please don't lose hope. This is just the beginning and I'm sure you are all capable and smart. I'm hopeful that we will see you at OSU/CCVM next year🤞.

hi there! I am late to the party but I am currently at OSU 4th year undergrad with an interview on saturday! I reallllly love Corvallis. It's beautiful, lush, with mountain views. The coast is fun to explore, even on cold days, and the there are so many hiking options. I personally live in off campus student housing next to the forest and it has been a DREAM. bobcats, owls, deer, foxes, bunnies all outside my window. I've heard to avoid Duerksen, but since I've lived in the same place all 4 years, I am not familiar with any of the housing companies. I will say my first day in Corvallis was miserable (coming from a larger city). I love shopping, I love food options. Corvallis has very limited shopping. I do all my clothes shopping at the TJ Maxx, or go to Albany for Target (a small one), Walmart (the corvallis one is ONLY a grocery store) and Marshalls. If I can't get what I want, I will drive to Salem, Eugene (both an hour away) or Portland depending on what I need. (this has saved me money). I loooooove concerts and Portland being so close is such a win. I used to have to drive 5 hours, now 1.5 -2 hours is a breeze. Eugene is bigger, and has more options but I've realized I love how peaceful Corvo is. I love it even more when people leave in the summer. Its quiet, the air is so clean, very little noise, I feel so safe. I feel like Corvo is missing so many great food staples, or mind blowing Mexican food, but when I want something more popular or authentic I just drive to Salem (mexican) or Eugene (more chains). The campus is so beautiful with so many places to sit in the sun. The vet school is across from Reser Stadium, at one of the edges of campus which means its a walk to the MU (the living room of OSU) or my favorite buildings, but it feels like its own world there (in a good way.) Let me know if you have any more questions, but basically I kinda just settle with what I have during the school year, then really branch out to surrounding areas during the spring/summer when I have more time.

OOS waitlist! This is my second time applying and my fiance was saying that I should write a letter to the admissions team updating them on what I have improved on after the applications. Would OSU take this into consideration for the waitlist? Or would it be no use writing the letter lol

Goodluck on your interview!!! 🙂 Thank you for commenting this gave great insight as I am coming from CA with many different shopping options, so it’s good to be aware I’ll have to travel for some of the places I’m used to going to. That’s completely okay though considering literally EVERYTHING else about the school sounds amazing
