Yes, I believe that is the deadline for applications at OU. Honestly, I'm not surprised that some programs begin reviewing incoming apps prior to their deadline. I submitted my apps around mid-July and that was later than I planned on sending them.

I was surprised to get a call from them so early, and am not sure how they do things. Maybe they just read the applications as they come in and make a yes/no decision on whether to interview?

Honestly, I have no idea if they have sent all their invites for this cycle, but it's probably safe to assume they have sent most of them.

I know that for Oklahoma, their application deadline was 9/1/12. By 8/22/12, they had given out the first of the interview invites. When I inquired on 9/5/12, they had already given notice to all potential interviewees.

What exactly do you doubt? I admitted I had no idea how many have been sent (since I am not on the ad com) and that I thought it would be safe to assume most (as in the majority) had been sent. If a school is only giving away 32 invites, how many "waves" of invites do you think they will send? I would imagine many schools send them all at once or maybe 2 or 3 "waves". I sincerely doubt they are sending them out to a few students at a time. Despite what their dealine may be, I can tell you for sure that Houston has sent out the first interviews and when I emailed back which of the 4 time slots I wanted, I was told that one was already full. Is it that big of a stretch to assume they sent out 16 invites? They might accept applications until Oct 1st, but I feel like this ship has sailed.

i don't think the majority of schools send out rejections..they just take your application fee and don't respond..

Sorry if I came off as defensive. You questioned the validity of what I felt like was a very safe, logical statement. Either way, my point is once a school starts sending invites, if you haven't applied to that program yet it might not be worth the money. I am looking to send a few last minute applications myself and if I see that a given program has started sending invites, I cross them off the list. I think this is what PreDent2009 was getting at...
