Can I apply to GPRs still and which ones focus on ortho? And how can I get in the following year im devastated
I didn’t match last year either. Devastating! This year MATCHED to my first choice! Don’t give up!I matched to my first choice.
Guys that are not matched and reading this, I didn’t match last year. Don’t worry. Next year, the world will be yours.
yes, they got accredited by CODA in August and already have their first cohort in progress. Is touro program accredited ?
I didn’t receive a letter, but got a congratulatory email and a call from the program director. Not sure about tuition- hoping to use GI bill if anyone has guidance with that?Did anyone receive the letter from the school they matched at? when do they usually send it? Also, when do we have to pay the tuition of our first year by?
Do you think we should contact the program we matched at? I thought they would be sending a letter or something confirming things with usI didn’t receive a letter, but got a congratulatory email and a call from the program director. I do know someone who this personally happened to. Due to unforeseen circumstances, a spot opened up at a smaller ortho residency 1-2 weeks before the ortho program started and the school called the individual and gave them the spot (They already interviewed the person).Does anyone personally know someone who matched post-match? Do you know the reason why the spot opened up? Trying to hear if it’s even remotely realistic or not. I’m not getting my hopes up for sure, but a few people I’ve talked to about not matching said, “My friend got a spot because XYZ”
Yeah definitely keeping it out of my mind, pretty much entirely. I’ve just had a weird amount of people saying, “Oh I know someone it happened to.” I’m like…who are these imaginary people?! Haha.I do know someone who this personally happened to. Edit: I don't think it is realistic to expect this to happen. I'm sure it happens every year to at least 1-2 individuals, but the chances of you taking their spot are so small that it isn't even worth thinking about. I would focus on ways to make my application more competitive for the next cycle or even consider GSO.
Did they contact you from the waitlist this month? Is touro program accredited ?
Not for bronx careNot if they are university based programs. For hospital based ones you need a gpr
Do you know anything about the program ?yes, they got accredited by CODA in August and already have their first cohort in progress.
They sent out emails to confirm who matched and who’s not to finalize their list I guessDid they contact you from the waitlist this month?
When you mentioned who did not match, do you mean they notified the rejection to all applicants and they filled out their spots? Cause they sent that massive email stating they are still conducting interviews through November...They sent out emails to confirm who matched and who’s not to finalize their list I guess

Touro is still finishing interviews. They reached out to see if you matched, as this cycle they are post-match and arent taking anybody who has already matched to another program. No I don’t mean they filled out their spots
I don’t know to be honest
I think they are still reviewing applications
I’m assuming that’s normal. All I received was an email from the director the day of the matchAnyone still not receive a letter of confirmation from their program? I emailed the program director on Match day and she acknowledged the result, but it's been a week, so I'm not sure if it is via email or actual physical mail.
Any news about this?Has anyone received an interview invite to Touro? Or are they still reviewing applications?
If course!!!! Don’t let it passHello everyone
Didn’t match to any of the programs, but a big congratulations to all whom got matched.
I got a email from UCONN that they are not selecting me for residency but offering a fellowship opportunity. Should I consider that? As I am an international dentist and do not have any experience in the USA!
a fellowship at UConn will definitely help your chances of matching next year!Hello everyone

UConn is really goodIs UCONN a good school? I heard you can almost guarantee an acceptance there with the fellowship completed. There is almost always a fellow in each class.

UConn is one of the top tier ortho programs
can you clarify what makes it top tiered?
DM’ed you 🙂Very affordable. Modern clinics. Good relationships with other departments in the school. Experienced faculty. Good didactic background.
1. 100% agree with what the above person listed - on top of them, the name value in ortho world is phenomenal because of Burstone Biomechanics. Most of faculties if not all were trained under Burstone, so the program is known for teaching in depth Burstone technique in addition to others, not just heavily focusing on any particular philosophy like Tweed's.can you clarify what makes it top tiered?
How many acceptances were there?Touro sent their acceptance today…
