Anyone have any input on the pros and cons of each school?

Not everyone all at once...

There have been numerous PCOM threads and there is a NYCOM thread on the first page. It's all there, just need to spend a minute looking for it.

I was wondering about this myself. PCOM allegedly has a better reputation but NYCOM's match list looks much more appealing to me, since I'm from the NYC area. I'd really prefer to stay local.

I'm wondering how that will change if NSLIJ Is no longer accepting DO's to their residency programs though, plus their own medical school. It seemed like a fair number of NYCOM students went to their residencies in the past.

And for rotations, I'm much more familiar with Long Island than PHiladelphia and the other PA area hospitals (a friend from there said students did rotations in rural PA also.)

whered you hear about the NSLIJ thing?

I read it here actually, I'll need to find the thread. I thought it came up in a NYCOM thread. I think NSLIJ has become much more competitive, in addition to them opening their own medical school. The PCOM match list seems to have a lot of matches at places I've never heard of but that may be because a lot of those students choose to stay in that area... I'm not sure.
