Does anyone know how strict they are for requiring 3 credits of English lit? I have the usual English composition 1 and 2 (6 credit hours total) but I was wondering if they strictly require English lit.

I think they are simply asking for two semesters of English.

They didn't email any acceptances? Last year we could request an email

Should I just assume silent deny at this point? Been complete for over two months. (3.6, 27)

My portal says everything has been received (last item received Oct 6). Should I be expecting a complete email, or am I just waiting for an ii at this point?

When did you receive your portal login?

No. Those stats are similar to mine, and I was interviewed & accepted. Hang in there - people are already surrendering spots.

They do not send complete emails, you check the portal.

How soon after secondary submission do you receive the portal?

Anyone know how heavily they favor in-state/regional applicants? I'm applying from California...

Someone I met on my interview day was from California. That said, most places favor their regions slightly, if only to get a higher yield on their admissions offers.

If your numbers are within their margins, and you make a believable case that you're serious about moving from California to Atlanta, they'll quite likely interview you at some point.

Congrats on the acceptances everyone! Welcome to the circus that is med school! :wacky: If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm a first year here.

What is that portal that everyone is talking about? Is it something that becomes available once you're complete..?

Yes. After you're application has been received, they'll send you information on how to check your application status online. From there, you can see if your secondary has been processed, if your LoRs have been received, etc. If you're accepted, you can also see if they've processed your deposits.

Thanks! would also like to know the answer to the question above, if you happen to remember?

I hope the IS bias is not too strong, have never even been to GA...

I thought I may have still had the emails I received from the school regarding my login info for the web portal, but I don't have them anymore. I think it took maybe a week at most for me to get it. If you don't see an email in your inbox, check your spam folders.

PCOM-GA states that their mission is to train DOs for the southeast, and GA in particular. So, they may favor applicants to have an interest or intent to practice in the southeast.

II for 11/7!!! :soexcited::clap:
IS, 3.45cGPA, 3.2sGPa, 27
complete on 9/5 and got the email 10/13
So I called on friday (10/10) to check my status and admissions told me I was on hold for an MCAT ( I didn't know you had to submit it directly from AAMC as well...but I ahad already received a complete email???? 😵) I submitted the score on 10/10 but she told me it would take two weeks for my file to even be sent for review. Then I received the II monday morning? So weird but hey II so I'm not going to question it!

We have people from all over in our class. Most people are from GA but there are some from Texas, Ohio, Florida, etc... (I'm from NC)

Wait, what? Complete emails? Sending it MCAT scores directly from AAMC?

Is PCOM GA the correct thread for this post?

Anyone else from the 10/10 interview hear back? I am in state and haven't received any mail yet...

Been complete for about a month, no response yet. Is there any way I can check my status? Really frustrating that I can't be told my status considering that other medical schools have had technical difficulties sending me information.

Did everyone send in a letter of recommendation from a DO? I know its not required at PCOM and I'm debating if I should or not.

Is it your only physician letter or do you have one from an MD as well?

If it is your only one, then yes send it. If you have an MD letter as well, unless you believe the DO letter is more representative of who you are/stronger in general, I would suggest sending the MD letter. Basically, put your best foot forward.

Here's my issue- I'm only applying to two osteopathic schools. One requires a physician evaluation form, not a standard letter. And then PCOM, which would obviously require a standard letter. So I don't want to have to ask a physician to write me a letter AND fill out a physician evaluation form.

are you applying this cycle I assume?

if so, gotta get on it. I don't really think it would be that much of an issue. how long is the form? a page or two? if they have only done the form so far, I can see your worry, but that's why we try to ask early so that they have a while to complete it.

best of luck, but the worst the doctor says is no. might be best to ask face to face. tell them that you hadn't originally planned on it, but that you think it would help your chances at PCOM-GA and that you would really appreciate it if they could take the time out of their day. when you go to ask, make sure you bring a copy of your resumé and PS (if you're comfortable with that) just in case they want something additional from which to draw information.

Anyone who submitted there secondary around 10/29 hear anything from them? I'm OOS 3.9, 27 MCAT.. just curious if it means I should be expecting anything or not.
