So what are people's take on superbowl.

Im thinking Colts & Saints. I personally don't care too much about having either win over the other, but seeing that Im probably going to be in Tulane next year

Go New Orleans!!!

Let's go Colts!! I am a huge Colts fan, but the patriots have screwed us too many times before. Although if they colts make it to the superbowl, I can't be mad if they lose to the saints. The saints' season is just too magical for anyone to dislike them.

I remember on Sportscenter where one of the sportscasters said something about how no matter where you are from, if you dont like them, you've got no heart or soul lol. I mean for Goodness sake, they were practicing in a parking lot until they finally played their home games in the superdome again.

God I hope Indy trounces on Pats come Sunday. 🙂 That in itself should be satisfactory enough for Peyton.

Ill be traveling to another interview like a week from now, and I was thinking about dropping the Mbomb on some random bar chicks and inviting them back to my hotel room the night before I interview. I think it would be a great confidence booster for my interview, and in addition would help me work on my people skills in general.

yea, good luck, please dont catch an STD along the way ...

How amazing/awkward would it be if it also happened to be someone who interviewed you and you just realized it the next day. Or even better, what if they were another interviewer that day and they gunner'ed it up and turned off your alarm in the morning :meanie:

lmao.

Instead of moving/closing this thread, Im going to merge this with an official random thread in pre allo. Then you can get away with talking about whatever 😉

What's the Mbomb? Never heard that before.

The mbomb is telling a chick you are in/interviewing/going to/wtc to med school. They are then impressed and want you.

Can't you imagine the thread if that happened?
"HEEEEELP! I caught an STD while on an interview"

But the interview feedback could conclude with "All in all, it was a very positive experience!"

that sounds remarkably similar to the first episode of grey's anatomy where meredith (surg. intern) wakes up next to a guy she found at a bar. turns out that guy was an attendee (neurosurg) at the hospital.

Not sure about the M bomb. I heard some guy drop it at a party this weekend and it sounded dickheadish. Of course, I think she dropped it too fast.

I think the key to luring someone is not to publicly drop the Mbomb but let it casually drop in conversation 😉

I should write for Grey's anatomy. Sigh what am i doing at 230 in the morning

When I was a kid, I always was one of the explorers in video games. I had to make sure that I did not miss anything. I would take the time to explore the entire level. To me it was more important to not miss anything of utility or beauty or wonder than to finish the level quickly.

I think I have applied this same philosophy of exploration to the people that I care about. I must explore every possibility before I can give up on someone. I think that this is not something that most people can understand.

This penchant for inquisition could be mistaken as an ability for forgiveness, but forgiveness is merely a byproduct of my passion for discovery.

The way I view things is that if one is wronged by another then that is a sin, but if the offender is by nature a good person then perhaps it would not be unreasonable to give them another chance. A chance would then allow for further exploration of that person, and in that exploration one might discover joy.

Mankind by nature is fallible, and even if one were to find another person just as good as that person the new person still could possibly sin against them.

Its sort of a like a game of odds. If you really care about someone then maybe you will make a bet that they will bring you happiness, and maybe you will let them back into your life.

my good man, if you dont mind me asking, what is up with you and the peppers? pepper this and pepper that - geez...

Its funny how when guys drop the M-bomb, the girls go nuts. When I dropped the M-bomb to my bf, it became something we had to "work through." Although, I guess I'm pretty lucky that he is still willing to marry me, b/c according to my mother, "No man will ever marry a woman who is a doctor because he knows she will neglect their children" and then she proceeded to cry for the future of my neglected children. I'm not joking.

**Insert culturally insensitive comment about Muslim women here** 😉

 You know, I got that old Dr. Pepper commercial stuck in my head out of the blue the other day for seemingly no reason what so ever. Now I just can't stop myself! Everybody sing it!

It would help if I actually knew the tune..... How old are we talking?

hahaha i know i know.. seriously though, you'd be surprised that its really not a Muslim thing. Islamic law regarding the rights of women is actually pretty feminist. These ultra-conservative bigots are idiots. Women are encouraged to be educated in Islam and its actually Islamic culture to not change your name when you get married. It was actually much more "feminist" than many religions of its time. Women ran businesses and owned property in Islam 1400 years ago. Women in the US could not own property until 1839, and even then, a man who divorced his wife had the legal right to retain posession of the home, all assets, and the children, while in Islamic law, divorced women keep the dowry they were paid when they got married, the children, the house, and usually half of the other assets. It includes little things that seem silly but set a precedent, like a man cannot sell his wife's jewelry. That is her property to keep and he cannot touch it. Most of this is built in protection for women, if their man ever screws them over. Islamically, a man must work to support his family. If his wife decides to work as well, her income belongs to her. She can spend it any way she wants. If that includes spending it on expenses for the family, thats her perogative, but she can also keep that money and save it or spend it on herself. Her husband cannot use her money without her permission. And yet somehow, these close-minded, mysoginistic dinguses have turned this into women are not allowed to work or drive and must stay in the home and not be seen in public. WTF???

I actually have been looking a lot into this lately (so no, I am not writing b/c you offended me in any way, you know I just like getting on my soapbox every now and then, plus I think many people find the topic interesting 😀 ), to come to terms with my own religious education. I apparently went to a Wahabi school and have come to the realization that everything they taught me about Islam was BS. "Liberal" Islam, especially among second-generation American Muslims (like me) is on the rise. Which I think is great, b/c Islam is really about being a good person and treating other people with respect and kindness. It really makes me angry to see these idiots on TV associating Islam (the word itself means "Peace") with bombs, guns, and intolerance.

My parents are really just very traditional Turkish. I am 3 generations away from nomadic sheep herders... My parents are old school. Like old school. The purpose of me going to college was to make me more attractive to a potential husband, and also, if my husband ever died, I would be able to find a job to support my family. Not so I would pursue a full-time career. Especially not one as a physician. Now they just shake their heads and wonder where they went wrong. Sometimes they get me wondering if I really am the crazy one.. Maybe I should just go to nursing school and marry a doctor... 😉

Hence why I said 'culturally insensitive'. 😉 😍 You've talked to me on IM and you know I have a tremendous level of respect for Muslims as a group. 🙂

yeah, i know, its been a topic of interest to me lately. it was surprising to me b/c i had been lied to all these years. sorry, i didnt mean to make it sound like you were culturally insenstive, i know you are anything but. it started off as me saying "hahaha i know i know" and then i remembered the books i read recently on feminist islam. i was just wondering if it was as interesting to anyone else or if everyone else realized this or if i really am out of the loop. plus it was a convenient way to express my frustration with the global situation. i promise ill never take my frustration out on you or SDN again 😀 😉 (yeah right)

I find it fascinating actually, but then again I'm a dork.

I beleive you were there on that other thread where I caught a stalker in the act. Do not make me use my stalker picture trail!

Good God DKM the sexiness factor just went through the roof. But seriously where do you get this stuff...

oh my goodness 😱

Maybe I picked the wrong moment to see what you guys were talking about in this thread...

I'm sure that's really you, DKM. Right? :meanie:
I could never be that tan. I'm 1/2 German, 1/4 Scottish, 1/8 English, 1/8 Irish.....basically four shades of pasty, "you can read by the glow of my legs" white. My girlfriend says I have a nice butt though if that counts for anything.

Ok I'm never having a picture battle with you again. I'm still reeling from your MLK photo that not only did you put on that stalker thread but you also posted it in response to an MLK day post yesterday.

I'm ruthless but you're a whole level above me. Below me. I'm not even sure what the polarity is on this thing, but you will burn for making me look at a naked ambiguity. wtf is that a man or a woman. The chest and lats area say man, but the lack of leg hair and the arms say woman oh geez why am I still looking at it..

By the way, that's not even the worst thing I could have posted. I just don't want to waste my ammo. :meanie:

I've got blond hair, blue eyes, and I'm so white I had a former SS officer tell me I would have made the cut. Care to dance?

Dark hair, blue eyes, and I had someone ask me once why pictures of me are chronically over-exposed.... sad thing is that they aren't, I'm just that pale.

You can also see all the veins on my legs (not nasty vericose veins, real veins) because my skin is so pale it's almost translucent.

That'll be fixed this Spring - I live 1 hr from a decent beach and I'll be there all the time since I don't have classes 😉
ana should we take over this random thread also?

 I'm actually about to walk out the door... were you around when we had the pale-ness competition over there? I think I won... I don't care what Jlw and Oxeye say
 i wasnt there but i wish i was now
