they came through in the final minutes! We're gonna be homeowners and not a burden to my parents!

I'm crying right now from the relief (at least it isn't diarrhea from the excitement👍)

:highfive::clap::soexcited:

Congrats, dyachei!!!!

That is great news!!! 😀 😀 😀

I passed my second exam... I was so very worried... It was close, but who cares? I PASSED!!! :soexcited: :soexcited:

That GPA cutoff I was talking about for the research program in the rant thread? Not only did I get it, I ended up getting almost 0.1 higher! I am so freaking excited it's not even funny. I don't know how I pulled it off, but I did. And my research mentor was super supportive through the whole thing.

1/8 DVM 😀😀😀

So at graduation rehearsal today, the announcer lets us know that the banners for each college/ school within the university will be carried in by the student from that college with the highest GPA.... Never did I expect my name would be called for the Ag/bio/chem college!!

Now I have to worry about tripping on my face carrying this big banner thing!!! 😱 :scared:

Finals week was so rough by the end of it, but yesterday, my friends taught me how to crochet, and this morning I woke up to find that my fabulous husband had gone out this morning and purchased the video game I'd been wanting since before it came out earlier this year. He knew I didn't want to wait until Christmas when I have all this free time sitting in front of me lol.

I'm a college graduate 😀 😀 yaaaaaay!!

Might be raising a 3 week old cleft palate (not pallet) puppy.

I second this! Just got home from seeing it 😀 .. It makes me happy that this storyline is continuing... Well actually beginning bc this is set before the LOTR series ... Eeek so excited!

Loved the LOTR books and movies. Loved reading The Hobbit. I'm pumped to see that movie! My friend wants to have a LOTR all day movie marathon and turn it into a case race sometime soon before we go see The Hobbit

I signed up for 6 months of couples training at the gym. I am very excited!

I also went to the casino last night and doubled the $20 I brought.

lol i just got this image of a puppy straddling the planks of a broken pallet...

(palate)

Does help if I spell it correctly doesn't it? I'm going to blame it on the scrambled egg brains from flying and call it a day.

Sent from my HTC Glacier using SDN Mobile

Date night with good food, a fun walk around downtown, saw The Hobbit (awesome!), and our photographer got our holiday portraits back to us yesterday! Best Saturday in a really long time. 😍

I have decided to volunteer for the disaster animal response team. I went to their general meeting/social today. The members were great and I also got a tour of the building, which is the only building in the country that contains emergency response teams from the municipal, provincial and federal level. The founding member, who works at the municipal level told us how having all three levels in the building helped them during the Swiss Air disaster, 9/11 and the bad hurricane we had a few years ago. The way that I understand it is that having all 3 levels present in an emergency eliminates the whole "I am not responsible for that, see this person" or "You cannot do that until the paperwork comes in" fiasco that happened during Katrina. When planes were grounded during 9/11, there were not enough cots for the travellers who were stranded. In 20 minutes, someone with connections with the capital, someone from the military and someone from transit came up with a plan and had cots for people the next morning. That is pretty amazing. It made me really appreciate what these people do for us!

Next year, there will be a boot camp where we learn how to construct and operate make-shift animal shelters, three animal-handling courses (avian, reptiles and cats) and a pet first aid course.

I am very excited!!!

Someone gave me a lotto ticket with a belated birthday card. Scratched it off, and 50 bucks for me! 3rd year in a row I've been given a lotto ticket with a birthday card and won at least $30 😉

That's awesome 😀 happy belated birthday!!!!

Passed physiology! :soexcited: I was so worried, especially since my other final marks have been lower than I expected. Phys is the hardest class for me so I'm happy I passed. I even did better on the final than the midterm 🙂

My Christmas package from my family just arrived today.:soexcited: And it didn't just have presents for me and my husband. There was also fleece (in Christmas colors and patterns) for my guinea pigs (I use fleece and wash it once a week rather than paper bedding. It's better for the environment and my wallet). I also got hot cocoa packets (yummy!) and the stocking I made for my Chi when I was little. They also sent a dog tie for the Boston I'm getting on Jan 5th. There are a couple of open before Christmas presents that can't be anything other than DVDs. I'm really hoping they're my family's traditional Christmas movies (A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, etc.) :xf: However, none of this compares to what was at the bottom of the box. My family (probably mostly my mom and my sister) took the time to wrap the sturdiest of my Christmas ornaments to send to me. It means so much because it's kind of a tradition that my grandma has gotten my siblings and I a new ornament every year, starting with our first Christmas. I accidentally left my entire box of ornaments in my parent's garage when I moved to NC and was pretty disappointed about having Christmas without them. I just put all the ones they sent on my tree and now it's bursting with decoration. i spent a good 10 minutes crying because I was so happy with everything they sent (and I haven't even opened the presents yet) :biglove::biglove::biglove::biglove:

Yeah we actually have a pretty cool volunteer organization associated with our SVM called VERT that provides a lot of training and exposure in this area.

I hated first semester phys. I swear to the gods it's vet school hazing. Congrats on getting it done and over with!

According to the grading schema and the final grades my prof posted on the board I should have gotten a B in Microbiology class, but grades were due by noon toay, and it says I got an A on my unofficial transcript? Either it's a mistake, the grading schema was changed, or he took mercy on my soul because the numbers had me short an A by only a couple points on the last exam, but for whatever the reason I hope that stays that way

Just finalized my internship rank order list! Now there's one less thing for me to do/worry about 🙂

Spent 3 hours at the shelter playing with their cats today. So much fun. They have feral kittens and they're really starting to get used to people. They are adorable and so playful! 😍

Took lots of pictures and put them on the volunteer FB page I made last week. We're going to update it whenever someone volunteers and what's to add anything about the animals they took care of. 150 pictures almost uploaded. 🙂

Also, almost done translating a paper for the pathology department. Paid for my health center bill. About to fix my schedule and then study some for the GRE. I'm pretty happy with how today went. 🙂
