Day 5

Dee Dee took the stage at the start of the day. Those who knew her settled in - this was going to be a long, rambling speech, they were sure.

"I have concerns!" she started, "I have concerns that with the death of a cult member overnight we can't trust anyone at all! Any one of us could have been convinced to join the cult!"

A shiver of panic swept through the crowd. She was right, they really couldn't trust anyone anymore! The cartoons looked around at each other and started taking a few steps back. Soon everyone was standing 6 feet apart. Patrick Star coughed lightly to break the awkward silence that had fallen, and several toons around him took another few steps back. Dee Dee cleared her throat.

"This mission to eradicate violence in cartoons has made us weak! Look how susceptible we are to murder in the night, and now to this whole cult business! We need to take back our autonomy by whatever means necessary! Throwing each other out of the conference hasn't worked so far! We need to consider more drastic, even violent, methods!"

Her brother, Dexter, raised an eyebrow at the direction Dee Dee's speach was taking. She had been a frequent volunteer at the It Takes A Village fundraising events. This was very unlike her. He focused on her face for a moment as she spoke, searching for some indication that his sister hadn't been brainwashed. And then he saw it.

"Um, Dee Dee," he interrupted, "Can I ask you...a question?"

"Yes Dexter," she said, annoyance thick in her voice.

"Why are you wearing a wig?"

The question took Dee Dee by surprise, and in that moment Batman appeared on stage, grabbed Dee Dee's blonde pigtails, and ripped them right off her head, revealing...

"MANDARK!" shouted Dexter, "What have you done with my sister?"

Mandark did not answer, merely cackling as Batman escorted him out of the convention hotel. He was never seen or heard from again.

Dead is @Viscernable, who was Mandark, a wolf who could silence a player each night...as long as they posted 20 times per day, or else they would be silenced themselves!

SWEEEEEEET! I'm sorry I got dragged away tonight and missed out on all the fun. Now I have to go back and read the argument against Vis because I somehow missed it when I skipped over a page or two to quickly post before leaving. Good job everyone! (except wolves and cultists, you can go yeet yourselves)

Now to go analyze Vis's posts.

No kne noticed my hair dye joke earlier and i am already a few beers deep.
I noticed, I just didn't understand it was a joke.

Also just to note I assume the cult is currently at 4 members with Matthew dead if they can turn one person every night
I was asking my manator about cults and they said cults don't always work the same in every game. Apparently recruitment can be different than just a one person every night deal, but I believe it's the most common.

My manator laughed and told me the mods must hate us and good luck lol

I think if we look closely at the last days chatter we'd can find a pattern.

I also suspect there are at least 3 more wolves. 7 total non-villagers and 10 total villagers/3P other than cultists. I think the wolves/vigilantes would do best by targeting cultists (for all you wolves or vigilantes out there) or else this game will be over in 2-3 days assuming 2-3 deaths.

Yeah to be fair I think the cultists are closer than the wolves to winning right now. It would benefit the both of us to take out that cult leader. And I have no idea who it is.

Kicking off the deep dives with some shared vote analysis! These are all bandwagons though so utility is likely limited, a lot of village overlap is certain. including myself (for transparency!) smart wolves also likely would have diversified some votes. please correct me if i counted anything wrong

agree that cult is high threat right now, but don't know strategy since we know so little about the mechanism

I want Alleycat
Lawpy wanted Alleycat
I think M935 at one point wanted Alleycat
Alleycat voted every time with V

Not a great look for Alleycat

Alright Alleycat, the pressure is on!

Also, Lumya is missing from your end tally, which should be in the 1 count
you're correct! I also forgot to strike out cessna (RIP) in the D3 mayor count

updated totals:
Every vote (5) - Alleycat

I agree. The cult is rapidly becoming the biggest threat. I'm not sure how to hunt them.
Are we asking for a truce with the wolves to hunt the cultists? Mods is this allowed haha

do you think wolves are more likely to try and vote polar opposites to not be affiliated? Or vote the same? Or purposely space to the middle? (I say this knowing I’m in the middle)

kras is in the polar opposite group though so that bodes well for that end of the vote spectrum I would think since kras is a villager (or at least not a wolf, hopefully not converted cult). And iirc kras has had good judgement so far, would need to look back at all their posts.

I think it's hard to know, since wolves could have multiple different voting strategies - something that might be helpful for someone with more energy than me right now is to take a separate look at things like timing of each vote, tiebreakers, etc. I would think it's likely to be a mix with at least some wolves voting together each night and some purposely throwing votes elsewhere

I think there would be a lot going on that sways their vote pattern so it won't be that cut and dry. If the villagers are about to shoot themselves in the foot by a landslide, the wolves might back off and split off into non-sus choices. If it's the matter of breaking a tie, at least one or two of them would probably jump on the same vote at the last minute to sway it.

Ok, I didn't want to bring this up before, draw attention to me, and potentially get yeeted, but what's the deal with the bugs hints in the write-ups?

my vague unsubstantiated theories:
- mods like screwing with us
- a player with a writeup altering power likes screwing with us (likely wolf or cult or chaos 3p)
- boy who cried wolf scenario? many wrong, but once in a while right?
- says the opposite of whats true?

I think Bugs is maybe 3P???

Someone suggested, maybe they had to get x number of people they called out voted out that day?

I could also see bugs as the cult leader.

I'm also noticing that I think everyone is 3P even more than I think they are wolves.

I also just noticed my wine glass needs a refill. I'll be right back.

Why would just asking a question like that get you yeeted? Your post only draws attention to you because you said you didn't want to draw attention to yourself. I'm still a bit suspicious of how low you've been lying. There are a lot of very active people here who others don't find suspicious.

Anyway - I think it could be a wolf with an ability to choose someone to add into the write-up. Or he could be the cult leader. Or it could be a non-player-character (still not sure if they exist in this game?) that the mods are using to throw people off, but I don't think the mods would do that (oh how wrong I could be).

Are you saying this because you’re Bugs?

he's saying this cause bugs called him out in last nights writeup
