StardeWW 2: Ginger Island - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If the game is approaching a final four, giving the mafia any further guidance about who to kill is not ideal. I have to get to sleep anyway. I have an early morning.

We have to do something, the low voice said. We have a lot of ground to make up. They found themselves pacing in a back room, trying to decide what the best strategy was. They needed to take over this town and they were running out of time to do so.

"There's always the iridium," came the gravelly voice. "But it comes at such a price. Is it worth it?"

Brows furrowed. They had left the iridium alone, keeping it for emergencies. Truthfully, they hadn't really thought about it much - it just seemed like too much of a risk. But now, they gingerly placed it on the table, studying it.

Did they want to pursue it? What would it cost?

Everything.

Their eyes locked and they both gave a small nod. They knew what they had to do.
Nah. We still have 1 wolf remaining

Mayor Lewis fixed the crowd with a firm stare. “I trust that you all put high-quality ingredients in the pot this year. We don't want the governor to regret his visit to the valley!"

The Governor moved to the table lined with several ramekins and a single tasting spoon. Time for the blind taste-testing.

At the first, the Governor lifted the spoon to his lips. “Hmmm... Well it's not bad, but it's missing something... Did everyone in town contribute an ingredient to the soup? I feel like it's missing someone's unique voice.”

A few players shifted their gazes.

He moved to the next. After a taste, he smiled. “Ah... that's a very pleasant soup. The produce from this valley never disappoints!”

Mayor Lewis moved to stand by the Governor. “That one’s special ingredient was from @SARdoghandler. A first place win!” 🥇🥇🥇

The next one drew a more neutral expression from the Governor but he still appeared pleased. Mayor Lewis checked the card. “Second place goes to @potentialsheltervet!" 🥈🥈🥈

After testing a few others and coming to the final one, the Governor gave a firm nod. “This one had a certain chutzpah but didn’t make the winner’s circle. The description was enough to earn an honorable mention for @genny. No prize but some bragging rights!”

You will be notified via PM of your reward for winning the festival 🏆🏆🏆

That brings this Luau Festival to a close. Thank you to all whom participated!!

Night 6

"Sometimes, I just feel like this is my last chance to discover something new. You know what I mean? I just feel like I'm running out of time."

Demetrius had always been a scientist, and a zoologist specifically. He spent hours every day outside in nature, observing the wildlife, before returning home to tend to his many animals. His farm, once quiet while he painstakingly built a barn and then raised money to put anything in it, bustled with activity.

"How's my sweet Tilly this evening?" he crooned, stroking his GGOAT!!! gently with the brush he'd bought just for her. Man, did Demetrius love his goats. He didn't know what came over him, but he couldn't just say the word "goat," he had to scream it, with an extra G for some reason, a little stutter because he was so excited.

GGOATS!!!!!

He treasured Tilly and had made the best life for her, brushing her at night, turning her out on the lushest pasture during the day. In the mornings, he reaped the payoff, collecting top quality goat milk that he used for cooking in unusual ways, like putting it in soup. And in fact, Tilly helped him in more ways, as she wandered around and collected data for him on the different people in the town. She was such a wonderful GGOAT!!!

Demetrius was stunned one morning when he heard some strange noises from the back of the barn and went to investigate. His reaction was so pure, and so confused.

"WOW AN OSTRICH" he exclaimed, scratching his head. He had foreseen many outcomes, as he'd planned his experiments, but spontaneous ostrichification was, shockingly, not on his radar. But here he was, with an ostrich staring back at him, looking as confused as he was.

"I shall call you... Oswald!"

Eventually, Demetrius understood where this ostrich had come from, and knowing that they were social birds from all of his days in the university library, he acquired an Osbert to keep Oswald company. Gosh, their eggs were enormous! He had not been prepared the first time he'd made an omelet from them and had leftovers for days. If only he had a microwave in which to reheat them...but instead, he decided to start keeping the eggs, planning the most extravagant grange display the island had ever seen.

He lay awake late into the night, thinking about his next experiment. Something just didn't make sense to him, and he had tested a few hypotheses, but they kept failing. What was he missing? The tormented thoughts prevented the sweet release of sleep, and he found himself getting up to pace anxiously during the night, muttering to himself.

He didn't hear the footsteps coming up behind him. No one murmured any reassuring words. But suddenly, a cloth was over his face, and he felt the world slipping away.

The hazy twilight he fell into sounded like the song of mermaids, and he could almost hear the crash of waves upon the rocks. It felt like home. It sounded like they were giving him a royal reception... as if he were their Queeb.

It was time to go home.

Dead is...

I'd appreciate if you could lay out a summary of your case so I can see it all in one place.
I figured out it wasn’t SAR yesterday because i did receive the action that she acted on me and immediately understood what was going on.

That left you, mirandas and PSV/pshelty.

I’m insistent it’s not you because your interactions with vissy just doesn’t make sense as W/W and you voted for mighty for original reasons several hours before D1 close. A wolf!Jays would actually be deepwolfing harder than Staggs here that i just see as not being practical here. It gives the vibes that you’re throwing your pack under the bus early because you don’t like working with them and wish to wolf alone. That doesn’t look right.

This leaves mirandas and PSV/pshelty.

I mentioned about mirandas ATE and response to Santy tunnel as problematic but i’m increasingly thinking this is a misdirection in the same vein as alleys, santy and nates. And i feel based on that, vissy and mighty might be setting up a misyeet bait on mirandas through their positive interactions with her in D1. genny also viewed mirandas favorably and i feel her later, more recent posts are trying to come from as more genuine. It’s a little shaky here admittedly.

PSV/pshelty however doesn’t get the same benefit of doubt from misdirection because she’s known to be a crafty wolf who bussed before in Bowling and Literary Fiction when she was in a bad spot. And it was said so by at least a few dead villagers (alleys in particular). I don’t know why we have to believe PSV/pshelty is being genuine in stating she was blocked when that could’ve been made up. I wasn’t able to find other instances of blocking in this game besides barky’s JOAT ability and wolf!PSV/pshelty could’ve made up the details on the blocking flavor yesterday to shift the direction of votes to barky.

The only thing that’s going in her favor is the D1 tie.. that lasted for few seconds. The Staggs vote was very shaky and she only parked her vote on him on the day he was condemned.

Miranda VCA:

D1: Voted Santy early in a somewhat retaliatory manner. Vis had 2 votes and Zenge, Stagg, Miranda, Mighty, and Santy had 1. Later, unvotes Santy to make count Vis 4, Mighty 3, Lucy 3. Then 45 minutes later she votes for Lucy 15 minutes after Alley did to make the count Vis 4, Mighty 3, Lucy 5. 2 hours before close, switches her vote to Mighty where she stayed until close to make count Vis 4, Mighty 6, Lucy 3. Shortly after that Dubz unvoted Mighty and Lawpy voted Mighty.

D2: Voted Alley to make it Alley 4, Santy 4, PSV 1. Later moved voted to Santy to make it Santy 9, Alley 1, PSV 2. Interesting to note that Miranda and Lawpy switched their vote to follow each other within an hour of both of these votes.

D3: Miranda ended up 2/3 on Barks with PSV and Clem.

This VCA looks pretty bad. The initial retaliatory vote on Santy can be nooby WIFOM, but even disregarding that this does not look good. She was on the Lucy counterwagon with both Lawpy and Alley which actually put Lucy in the lead and moved to Mighty with Lawpy when the Lucy wagon was dying. I could see her parking her vote there to not attract more negative attention as a noob wolf and gain some village cred. On D2, she did create a tie on Alley, but did eventually switch to Santy with Lawpy. D3 is meh.

I could definitely see this being the voting patter of a noob wolf who was unsure what to do having 2 packmates as leading wagons pretty early into D1. There's a lot of mirroring with Lawpy as well, which I didn't notice before. Based on votes, I also think it's unlikely but not impossible for her to be in a pack with Alley. If Alley flips village, Miranda would move up on my POE.

Analysis based on VCA is wolf lean.

Why not PSV. Absolutely could be paired with Miranda. Same goes for Barks, she's just further down the POE. Also Genny, because we need to talk about Genny.

Since you're looking at unpartnering though, if I'm a wolf then who would my partner be? Because I feel like right now the most likely pairing is Miranda/Lawpy.

Stagg emphasized a connection between miranda and Lawpy, trying to fuse them together. That "connection" was primarily based upon objective data (i.e., voting patterns), which presents some potential for a deliberate strategy. Votes are sometimes easier to control than the more random character of ordinary conversation. In that world it'd imply Stagg is tying his teammate to a town player on purpose. I've done that before as mafia. It feels like a stretch, but everything should be considered at this point.

I want to take another look at Stagg/Lawpy before I completely discard that prospect. Due diligence is vital.

I’d also like to point out that Lawpy is conveniently leaving out that Mighty literally voted in a bloc with him several times. Including following him off me to Stiat and then back onto me, where they both ended D1 vote. I believe Lawpy and Mighty voted together on Lucy.

I’ll need to look back to see how I interpret that with timing involved, but it’s shady to be making the arguments that Mighty’s voting as a wolf makes me look bad when Lawpy’s pattern was so similar.

ETA: the bolded is incorrect. Mighty never voted for Lucy.

Current thoughts:

POE: Alley>Lawpy>>>PSV >>>Miranda
Maybe I’m retalia-tunneling Lawpy, so want to look more into post history and interactions outside myself and Barks.
Moments like these move me a lot with Lawpy. This just looks like the way mafia responds to town tunneling them. The first one is a classic "why me?" defense that stands to discredit suspicion and redirect it at the same time. The second looks like Stagg acknowledging that his anti-Lawpy stance isn't catching on and leaving himself an out in case it starts to burn him.

It’s reassuring that the case in Lawpy’s favor isn’t completely reliant upon Stagg interactions. That bit with mighty remains compelling.

I am an EOD watcher. I watched AM N1, Dubz N3, and attempted to watch JJJ N5 but was blocked and couldn't leave my house.
