SUNY upstate, anyone?

Ok so ow we ait till friday. If they hypothetically did make a decision on our file, since we dont get the call the day of, does decision made status mean that it still possible that an acceptance was given?

My status page still says nothing, but am curious in case it pops up tomorrow...
 
A change in decision status can still mean an acceptance. Remember I got my call on Friday last week and there was no status change until after the weekend.
 
Apparently, people have been getting calls before their status page updated. So I guess, if you had been granted an acceptance, you would be notified asap--either on Wed or at least by Friday of the week the decision was made. My page was updated with Decision Made over the weekend. They probably load the status change into their system, but their web servers dont update until the weekend. Basically, if you see Decision Made but havent received a call yet, its pretty fair to say that you'll be receiving a rejection/waitlist letter soon.

junebug- when did you interview? Sorry to hear the news, but you may still have high priority, which from what I heard is still a good thing!

Well, I havent actually received anything from Upstate, so I cant be sure, but it seems unnecessarily cruel to go on denying the obvious at this point. Hoepfully it is HP Waitlist. I interviewed in the middle of December. But good luck to everyone who's still waiting.
 
Any calls? This is merely my first week of wait, so I may a couple weeks ahead of me but I can be hopeful 🙂

nothing for me..my status page says nothing new, I interviewed three weeks ago this coming monday....beginning to despair 🙁

I remember the angst of the application process, but all of you are being way too neurotic for your own health! 😉 Don't read so much into timing of calls, how long ago you interviewed, if you've found a good luck penny today, etc. Oh, and don't go calling the psychic hotline, or collecting chicken bones for the voodoo priestess. 🙂 All of the fretting doesn't change however it will turn out for any of you, and it will just wear you out.

Out of curiousity, no calls this week for anyone here?
 
I asked admissions earlier today if my file has been looked at...
the guy checked and said they told him they should have all
decisions in by the 31st..

Then I asked if he knew if my file specifically has been reviewed yet
as he said "I would think not, since your last name is at the end of
the alphabet" etc.

Does anyone know anything about this? I was pretty heartbroken when
I heard it is being done alphabetically.

What do you mean by all decisions?
 
Thats what he said. "All decisions"
Don't know if he meant from that particular batch or just all
decisions in general.
But it is disheartening that I have to be at the end because
of my last name, its not like I can do anything about that 😡 🙁
 
I find it hard to believe that all decisions will be out by the 31. Don't they interview through March? As far as the last name thing is concerned - i would not read into it all that much, though it does not really make any sense.

I think if they are interviewing through March then he
probably meant all decisions from the latest adcom
meeting, where they reviewed a given set of applications...

I hope some city schools give the later applicants a chance.

Just called upstate, and was told that my letter is being mailed out today. Guess I am not going to Upstate...

Thanks...I'm hoping, but the person on the phone didn't sound like it was very good news, and my student interview didn't go so well, so not totally suprised. I really liked the school though.

I am also getting VERY scared, because I was waitlisted post interview at Stonybrook, and now this. I am relying on SLU or Buffalo (my interview is coming up next week). And after that, I have no hope left :scared:
 
Just wondering if anyone else is in the situation of having there application placed "on hold" to be "reviewed a second time once the entire application pool has been reviewed". Has anyone been through this or know approximately the chances of going from this to getting an interview or when they usually get through the entire pool for that matter? I was late in applying (~mid November). Thanks.

Anyone got a call today (Jan 31st)? Today is Wed and people interviewed on week of Jan 15-19 should hear by now.
 
I interviewed that week, have heard nothing. Maybe friday morning?
 
none for me, I guess must wait another week, next week will be 3 weeks fo rme

You can see on the status page, if it says decision made. but sometimes even if the decision is made, they don't update the page. Good luck! :luck:
 
I still havent heard, and slowly am losing all hope 🙁, Tuesday will be exactly 3 weeks for me.

My status page does not have anything after october on it, they probably update the status pages late.
I guess I'll be calling Mrs Welch on Monday then - it's going to be three weeks on tuesday but they might as well be done with my file by monday.
the wait sucks..............

You are in the exact situation I was in last week, so I know how you feel. First excitement to get the call, then despair when you get no call, then you resign yourself to being rejected and then move on. You may still get a call early next week, or if not, hopefully high priority waitlist!! Keep us posted...

By the way, I interviewed 1/8, and called 1/29. My status page was still not updated 3 weeks later, but admissions told me that a letter was mailed out to me.
 
The only thing I can think of is that it hasnt been 3 weeks for me yet, so its possible I wasnt reviewed yet. So I do have one more week before depression sets in....Hopefully all of us waiting get calls on Wed/Friday.

BTW docbest, you interviewed on the 16th, because thats when I interviewed.

no, 17th. I counted my interview day towards the three weeks.
 
It usually takes three weeks to be reviewed. Hang in there and good luck.
 
That's generally true but my impression is that they're probably pushing about 4 weeks now. For what it's worth, it's a sign of how much time and attention they give everyone.
 
I know SDN doesnt reflect a majority of the pop., in fact barely represents any of the pop. But i found it odd that no one on here got a call from Upstate for the past 2 weeks. I dont know what to feel, scared, or hopeful...? Hopefully your right Random, they may just be alittle backed up from the early Jan stuff and havent been able to get to mid Jan applicants yet.
