For example if we did not match anywhere, because perhaps that is something that they take into account when taking people off the waitlist?
This bodes well for me. (I'm still waiting, but I'm pulling out all the stops on my "alternate plans." In other words, I'm not just "waiting." I'm reapplying, applying post-bacc to TCOM, etc. 👍 )fotolilith said:FYI - TX schools look favorably on reapplicants
This does NOT! 😱fotolilith said:And UTH is kinda wonky about "non-traditionals".......
I'm pretty sure all Texas schools are aware of your match once it has been conducted. As far as "not matching anywhere" and other criteria...the ONLY thing the schools are using is your TMDSAS application--they won't use new information to evaluate your status on the waiting list. Again, there is nothing else you can really do to change your wait-list status, except wait. :\ But you guys shouldn't worry...if you're on the wait list you are certainly more than qualified to be in med school, and things will fall in your favor 🙂pdiddy04 said:Does anyone know if the schools are aware of our match status?

MLewis said:It seems to me that adding people to a waitlist would in fact be GOOD news for current waitlisters...If a school is adding to their list, they probably anticipate a good deal of movement and want to ensure their class for next year is filled. It's more likely than not that the new names will be added to the end of the list...

Anyone thinks that unfortunately there may not be movement this year. b/c last year there was alot of movement and the year before there was none, so i am thinking it's a sine curve thing. I heard that a 2 yrs ago there was not much movement. anyone heard anything different.

I am beginning to think that everything I was taught in school was a lie. 😱OrthoFixation said:Silly rabbit, trix are for kids. Logic and the Texas Match are mutually exclusive 😱

If we're talking booze, yes.true blue said:So, who else has seen an increase in their spending since Feb. 1? 😳

I never know how to feel on this site. I see the threads about people waiting to hear post-interview from Harvard and UCSF, and I feel depressed, inferior, inadequate. Then I see people without an acceptance yet and I feel like such an a$$ for even being depressed. But I'm not depressed about med school, I'm really quite resigned about it. It's just other stuff in my life, you know? I thought being accepted to medical school would turn my life around and make me happy overnight, but I was an idiot for ever having those kinds of expectations. I hope I don't sound like a complete nutcase, I just needed to get this off my chest!
Good luck to you all! 🙂![]()
I don't care; here's mine:txpharmdstud said:I know this is a sensitive subject to ask but i'm just wondering...

I also applied to pharmacy school this year.

Maybe she didn't want to. How do you know anyway?thehopeful said:you didn't apply to TCOM, why not.

I think kilppy posted places that interviewed her.
What?! No spring break! A tragedy, that is!! Why not? 🙁true blue said:So,everyone ready for Spring Break? I am. 🙂
I just don't get one! 😡
I'm no longer in school and I work full-time. 🙂Prophecies said:What?! No spring break! A tragedy, that is!! Why not? 🙁
Wow! I love how schools tell you everything you already know. 🙄UNTlabrat said:I am readyfor Spring Break, but not the test I have to take before spring break. 🙁 😀
I got my file review from TCOM today. Pretty much what I thought: low GPA and lack of clinical experience hurt me. My plan was to find work in a hospital or something in the field, so that should help. They also said to apply earlier (I waited too long). What they DIDN'T say was to try post-bacc, which is promising. Applying to TCOM's post-bacc was on my "plan B" list. I'll probably try to work full time in a hospital doing something, and applying in May this time. This won't give me much time to rack up the experience they want me to have, because I don't graduate until May, but it's 6 of one and half a dozen of another......🙂
Anybody else request file reviews?

UTKB said:labrat, here's a trick I used when I applied the second time (I was lacking clinical exper the first time). I started volunteering at a hospital at the beginning of august, but turned in my app for processing at the end of august. So, under the health care volunteering section, I put "August DD/YY through present" so that when they reviewed my app, they might think I was volunteering all the way through sept/oct or whenever they reviewed my file (which I was), so it made me look like I had more experience than I really did when I turned in my app. Also, I had some interviews in Nov and Dec, so I had accumulated a lot of hours by then. Just be sure you do actually volunteer, or else you may look like a liar if they ask you questions about it 😀 .
I don't know if this actually worked...but I thought I'd try it and I'm in this time.
thehopeful said:UNTlabrat and baylorshannon, are you guys on the waitlist and still asked them for a file review. do you think they may get a negative perception of that or something like that.
