Yeah, check the old "TMDSAS" thread from this year:
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=133577 - you'll see that around October there were a lot of applicants who received their August MCAT scores, and many of them were accepted this year.
As for UTH and UTMB students...whew, your guess is as good as mine. The best advice I ever got for applying for medical school was "Find your niche...like a scarab beetle." Basically, they're looking for a diverse student body, who will take up different areas of medicine/ serve different communities. But they're also looking for bragging rights (numbers). And then a lot of it is up to chance. Keep browsing this forum, do well in school/ on the MCAT, have a bit of luck (okay, a LOT of luck), and know yourself and that's about all that is in your control. Good luck!
