**The Official Columbia University Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread**

My last name starts with a C so I guess I was one of the first ones.

Do any students live in the upper west side?.

Has anyone received any scholarship money for those that have been accepted?

has everyone received their official acceptance letter? is there a deadline for turning in the forms?

I got an email from Columbia university and my heart jumped. Then I read the email.

Dear Students,

We apologize for the delay in responding to your interview date confirmation. Unfortionetly, due to technical problems we will not be able to schedule your interview until Monday, December 17th. Please note, I have receive ALL of your email requests and will respond accordingly.

Thank you for your continued patience and note that we still have dates available beginning 1/25 and every Friday through Feburary, therefore the dates that you have requested should still be available, if not, I will make sure to let you know. Again, I will respond to your request on Monday with confirmation. Have a nice weekend.

I received a second email that says that the previous email was a mistake for those who already scheduled or had their interviews. My question for everyone is, at the end of the second email, there's what looks like a copy of another email saying that I haven't paid the application fee, which I am almost certain I have paid. Did anyone else receive that in the second email as well? If so, I'm guessing that may be a mistake too.

Got an interview invitation on 12/12! I am shocked because my stats don't seem up to par with the other applicants there. 21 AA 21 TS 22 PAT... I have some bomb extracurriculars and letters of rec though!

Oooh! Congrats! Could you plz post your other stats if you don't mind (various gpas and what kind of ec's do you have... and are you a non-trad student)? Also, when is your interview scheduled for, and what dates did they have available?

Good luck you're gonna rock it!

No!!! Dr. Davis is retiring at the end of this month, how sad. That guy is awesome.

That's really a bummer. I would hate to be the one to have to fill his shoes on interview days!

Anyone know how long it should take for post December decisions to arrive? During my interview on Dec 7th, I remember them saying they'd make their decisions about us next Friday. I've been accepted at NYU, and the deadline to make my deposit is Jan 4. I'd like to avoid putting a deposit at one place and then being accepted at a preferred school.

I don't have an answer to your question, sorry. As long as your deposit is postmarked by Jan 4th youre good, so you still have a couple weeks. I suggest waiting it out as long as you can. I did notice that your stats are impressive! Idk if this is too forward, but did NYU offer you any scholarship money?

Thanks! But no, I didn't get any scholarship. My GPA is pretty average at 3.52.
The deposit is a big concern for me. I've only got so much saved and my family can't help at all.

Columbia here I come baby..

Hey, did you just get accepted or were you accepted a while ago? Did you by any chance interview on Nov 30? I did and I'm still waiting to hear back... ugh the waiting is just so painful, I'm dying !

Does anyone know if Columbia is still offering interview invites? This is the only school I have not heard back from

I also interviewed on 11/30. still waiting........

In the Columbia class of 2016 thread, people who interviewed in early Dec started getting acceptances around Jan 6'th. I know that past experiences do not necessarily indicate future results, but it's something to hope for.

Another 11/30 interview here. They had mentioned during our interview we would hear back in late December, but still no word. Actually, I don't think anyone after the previous interview date, 11/16, has heard back. It's quite possible they are waiting for some of the December 1st offers to respond back. If I remember correctly, most of us at the 11/30 interview were allowed to select earlier days than that one - if only we picked a sooner date!

I interviewed on 11/30 as well and received an acceptance on 12/18. So I don't think they are necessarily waiting for the first batch of acceptances to respond.

I interviewed on December 7th. Fortunate enough to already have a few acceptances in my pocket, but Columbia is def my top choice. I just want the waiting to be over! lol

Has anyone on here herd when the next wave of acceptances will be given out?

Congrats to those who have been accepted!

I wonder how long they will make the rest of us suffer...

Are they still handing out invites? I was put on re-review (neither interviewed nor rejected) and haven't heard from them since!

Does anyone know what the average DAT for accepted students was this cycle?

Brochure that was handed out at the interview says it was 22.9 for last year. Based on what they said at the interview and judging by the trends I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being over 23.

Yeah definitely seems like it will be considering most people on SDN who got in had 24+

Anyone know when they stop interviewing for sure?

So guys, if you look through my old posts and have seen me post on SDN before, you'll notice I'm extremely interested in going to Columbia for dental school for many reasons. I'm applying next cycle by the way. I'm really debating whether to retake my DAT to up my chances. Everyone I've spoken to has said not to. I just gave admissions a call to see what their averages have been like for this cycle. Apparently they've only filled 50% of their class so far and the DAT AA average is 22.5 and the GPA average is 3.6.
