****The Official University of Maryland Class of 2016 Acceptance Thread****

Has anyone graduating in May recieved an offer to Maryland?

Also, Has anyone got a wait list email subjected wl-1 like previous years?

People wait listed have two chances. One is the coming up deadline of April 1st. The last one is at May 1st. Is there any other date you guys know of?

To all those who were waitlisted...Did the subject of your email say WL? or WL-1? according to previous years the subject of the email was different depending on the waitlist...

Dr. Meehan told us that approx 20-25 people come off the waitlist every year between march and the start of the semester. She didn't mention instate or oos preference. Hope this gives you guys some hope. Good luck.

Nope still says invited for interview. Whats the diff btwn WL and WL1

I don't think they sent wait list emails with different subjects this cycle. They must of got endless phone calls about them. That's just my thought.

Has anyone been accepted off the wait list? Are you instate or out of state?

April 1st. We should hear people getting accepted before the first.. meaning next week.

So a few questions.
Anyone know how many people get on the waitlist, when people start hearing and how many get accepted off of it?

Phone call from Dr. Meehan on 3/29... Accepted off waitlist.

Just wondering after you were put on the wait list did you send a letter of intent? Or did you just confirm you were still interested in the program and wanted to be placed on the list.

Never sent letter of intent but kept them constantly updated on my ongoing research.

Just curious, what are your stats? You always ask for everyone elses, just curious what yours are. If they are above avg, then I would say that there is still a chance. Send a letter of intent. It can't hurt.

3.4 cpa, 3.1 sci gpa, TS/AA/PAT 21/20/19
Yeapppp i already know that the 3.1 is an issue .....

I've called & emailed several times, so maybe I'll try the letter of intent.

Have all waitlisters already been accepted after people didn't submit deposits? Or is the committee still meeting?

soosoo,

did you also call the admissions office?

Soosoo's dad is a part-time faculty at UMB so its an easy access for him.

I was just accepted off the Waitlist on Friday. Woo! And I kept in touch with the office a lot.

First, I emailed Letters of Continued Interest to the doctors that I met during my interview day. I also submitted additional transcripts and letters of recommendation. Finally, I called about once every two weeks to remind them that UMB was my top choice.
I'm out of state, and my Waitlist email only indicated WL.

When was your interview if u dont mind me asking? And would u be willing to share your stats? I have emailed them a couple of times ... But im still waiting. I didnt think to email my interviewers... Did u do that after your interview
Or after being wait listed?

My interview was on February 29, the very last one. I've always been taught that it's general practice to send thank you letters to interviewers after med/dental/job interviews. I did it immediately after my interviews, that evening, in fact. I kept in touch with the admissions office via phone and email after hearing about my waitlist status.
