Hi guys!
Michigan is my top choice; however, I have not heard back from them yet. I took the DAT on July 13th and I was notified that my application was complete from Michigan on August 1.
My overall and science GPA are both a 3.84 and my DAT is a 22. I am also out of state.
Any advice is helpful on what you all think!!!
It's such a crap shoot, nobody knows how they make decisions. I myself am also seeing other schools on here where applicants with lower stats and later submissions are getting interviews, but not me.

3.96 GPA and a 20 DAT, I received an interview invite from 6 schools so far. Detroit Mercy, Case Western, Pittsburgh, Midwestern Illinois, Marquette, and Ohio State.
I see, it is quite odd for you to not have Michigan then. I have a 3.62 GPA and 23 DAT, but only got Michigan and UDM. Case and Pitt never gave me anything.

Just got an interview! YAYYY!!! Only date is 11/2 though. Does anyone know if there will be later interview dates in November released or has anyone tried to call and ask?

I also just got invited for 11/2 and I'm wondering the same thing about alternative November dates. If you call or find anything out please post a follow up here!

Stats? IS/OOS?

I’m OOS and I paid the application fee on August 16th

GPA (science, overall): 3.96, 3.73
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 23/22/24/25/none

PS: I did a 1 day pre-dental thing at Michigan 3 years ago so not sure if having that on my application had an effect or not

In state, application submitted 7/5 and completed on 8/16. Haven't heard back yet but others in August already got interview invites. Does anyone know if for post-December interviews they go back to applications that got overlooked?

I submitted the very first day of the cycle and got invited for the third interview date. Many people got interviews before me who submitted after me

gomichigan: have Michigan got back to you yet? I am from the last year's cycle and I got my invite on Oct 1st for the November 3rd interview, I had similar GPA and my DAT around 21 so I do not see a reason why they would not interview you. I remember they also interviewed many applicants in January and February, especially in state students and made offers within few days following the interview. I would not be worried yet since you have very good stats. if you do not hear from them by mid November contact Patricia Katcher as she is in charge of organizing interviews and can give you an idea where you application is at.

I JUST GOT AN INTERVIEW INVITATION TODAY FOR NOVEMBER 9TH! I am soooo happy! Do you currently go to Michigan??

Guys I have a question lol. Is anyone's application still on "Received/Application Complete" or has it been changed to "Under Review" on the AADSAS portal.

My status still says "Received/Application Complete", and they e-mailed me on 8/7 saying the exact same thing. I submitted on 7/11

Are you in-state or Out of State? Because I applied to several schools and UMichigan is the only school that hasn't reviewed my application. It would be nice if they even opened it lol.

Mine was changed to "Invited for interview" after I got the invitation, and it has been that way afterward.

Michigan also has 11/16 available too? That’s what I saw on interview thread.

Yes, when I signed up I only had the 9th as an option. Now I see 16 though
Could you tell us what time/day you received the email?
It feels weird that I'm not rejected yet considering people with significantly better stats are rejected..

They already sent out rejections?
To some people who have not interviewed yet, yes. Not to anybody who has interviewed. Somebody did mention that they seem to have been rejected because they weren't able to get their DAT score in by the deadline.

I received my invite at 11:30 am on Monday! Don’t lose hope yet!

Im in state and live 20 minutes away, so I've couple of friends that have gone there. From what a lot of them say is that its very connection based. I kinda believe it but then I dont know how an OOS would have a connect so not sure if its true.

Connections can sometimes make a difference, but from what people from the school told me, they really try to be as objective as possible. At my interview, I met people who had nothing to do with Michigan at all, so it is possible to get accepted as an OOS having had no connections. I am in state and have many connections, and I think that played a role in me getting an interview.

The connection helps put your name on a list of people to pay close attention to, and I believe it only goes as far as to ensure that your application is not as easily regarded as "just another application". That means you still need an otherwise competitive application for the connection to be of any use. If your GPA or DAT won't cut it, for example, forget it.
